Just discovered Suchmos. Loving this sound. Anyone have recommendations similar to them? (Japanese or Korean or maybe even English too)

Try Sanabagun (Suchmos's guitarist is also a member), their sound is more jazzy but you might dig it.

Momoclo have been posting short preview clip introductions of the new material. It looks like they're really doing this right, pulling in all kinds of different writers and musicians. Hyadain, NARASAKI, and Akirastar are back. these albums might actually be good? Momoclo might make a comeback?

charisma.com's tour name is pretty amazing 「FATです。PIGです。フィットネスツアー

It looks like the video is down now but the clip of Paruru being grossed out by Tani's scumbag lifestyle on AKBingo was too good. pro-Tani, pro-filthy idols.

Highly recommend the new Sasshi hosted 48g show, HKT48 vs. NGT48 Sashikita Gassen. The second episode aired two days ago, and I thought it was very funny. You don't need to know a whole lot of Japanese to understand what goes on. This was my favorite bit:

EXILE Atsushi Premium aired a week ago. It's an Unplugged style concert show where Atsushi performs Exile songs and covers to an audience of middle-aged female variety personalities lol (with the exception of the very hot Ono Nonoka)

Not Japanese but... Tame Impala tickets go on sale at the end of January. They have shows in Tokyo and Osaka this April for those of you who are interested. Tokyo is on the 25th at Zeppelin's Tokyo. Osaka is the 26th at Namba Hatch.

I'm excited. It'll be my first time seeing them as well as my first concert in Japan!

Thanks for that. He's got an interesting voice.

EDIT: Just watched his video 名前 and liked it even more. Something tells me I'm going to like this guy. Going to binge watch some other videos and hope he's consistent :D

EDIT 2: 無題 may be one of the best music videos I've ever seen. And from the 80% or so I can make out, it's an incredibly beautiful bittersweet song.

EDIT 3: And this song was an art installation set up in Japan's suicide forest (青木ヶ原) of printers nonstop printing tweets from people who want to kill themselves. Holy fuck. This dude is heavy.

Actually they're a duo (the vocalist + a girl pianist and their support musicians) :)
They've been quite popular for a while now, and the fact that some of their recent releases were used as theme songs for anime helped them even more.

Oomori Seiko is the only one who does the cutesy bubly jpop right (mainly because she is clearly sarcastic about it).

And fuck yeah Hikki is back! My body is ready for the Sole Mio.

loves her missID girls, doesn't she. but hey, Nayuta, Sari, and Paipai Dekami!

The ZOMBIE-CHANG album is wonderful.

Does anyone know what happened with XINLISUPREME? I was looking for their stuff again, but their videos on YouTube are all private (Well, Star/Act2, I am not Shinzo Abe and Seaside Voice Guitar B.C. are, which is the ones I remember), and their albums are missing from Virgin Babylon's Bandcamp.
