New Sakanaction live Blu-ray/DVD out May 25th http://natalie.mu/music/news/179872

Just announce the goddamn album already!

SHE'S announced their major debut with Virgin Music, they'll release their first single on June 8th. Definitely looking forward to it, they're a super solid piano pop-rock band.

Guess "piano rock" is a thing for labels now. Back when Gesu no Kiwami Otome went major Universal also signed Tesla ha Nakanai, Pony Canyon signed HOWL BE QUIET recently who do the same thing, sumika are blowing up right now, too....

Perfume's FLASH is out today, I think I'll need a PV to love it fully....

He's been banned for only a week, thankfully.

That's good, I'll play some Itano Tomomi in his honour. I know he'd really appreciate that.

Cute video and song but a tad average.

aw man, when i clicked on video: the clothes and feel of the video reminded me of very early old school 90's kpop: song by Goofy 다 잘될거야

it's plain and nice =)

Live reporter from Suiyobi's live show: she was so great. I kind of expected some in-audience and the up on a wall bits, but the ball was wild! I only got a hand on it once, but it was wild to be up front and have a pretty jank position. I felt like I was mouthing the words too much right in front of Komai, but the show was really energetic and I got a photo with her!

EDIT: I got overly excited and I'm a dingus. Sorry Slowdive! I realized after posting the YouTube link that it was dated March 3rd. I will check older posts next time!

The keyakizaka debut single is v good. Interesting vocal mixing choice http://aramajapan.com/news/music/ne...for-their-debut-single-silent-majority/56131/

the verse rhythm arrangement is similar to the verse arrangement of SAILING / AAA
it sounds nice!

Jpop or music related, i found out that the famous composer Yoko Kanno is this same person in this clip! i saw this when i was a kid a long time ago. i think it's before she was famous.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ul4zxJPpU5M

it's not shown on the clip, but when she entered on the show, everyone;s laughing at her and Steve Harvey plays up the crowd and sorta mocks her english accent as you slightly see in the beginning of the clip but once it starts BOOM! she win the competition that night!

Hidekazu Hinata is one of the best bassists out there while Shinichi Ubukata is one of the best guitarists, a ton of young musicians look up to them in Japan

Shinichi Ubukata is a freakin monster.. He has very strong time. (i honestly think he's has strongest time in the group)

i was listening to Brotherhood
that guitar rhythm 43 seconds in:
https://youtu.be/YmU3sHjI5g0?t=27s is extremely hard pull off live. (it might sound simple, it's hard to make that sound convincing)
most people do well in studio but it's really hard to pull off a rhythm like that live w/o losing time or sounding messy. the guy is amazing. i got this song bookmarked now.

Hidekazu is like playing lead guitar with that bass, he's got so much talent =) and the singer is solid player too. Soooo Good!

whoever is writing the song arrangements is talented.

Yeah I've always liked the tone of her voice but I don't think she's confident in it. Composing most of their music she could put her voice forward if she wanted to.

Rapper DOTAMA is teaming up with the telephones's Nagashima (bass) and Matsumoto (drums) as well as Rie (keyboard from THE SUZAN)

hey Kurita, i used to play weekly with the bass player in this band about 10 years ago,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXpICaz9_ds
they're all asian. the guitars is similar style to Brotherhood (they're into emo, Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World etc.)
when their 1st drummer left, they asked me to try out but i refused bc i thought i sucked. lol
i thought to share it since the rhythm guitars reminded me of Shinichi's playing for that song (these guys never put any official vids up but a few fans made parody w. their music)

i've been listening to it a few times. kinda hypnotic but sounds good =) she keeps looking at me...

The new White Ash record is terrible. Shame because Black Dark Groove was in my Top 3 AOTY last year. So Good, which makes this more disappointing.

I'm going to Tokyo from April 28-May 10 and I'm trying to look for this band that I saw a music video for a few years ago...

All I remember is that the lead singer was a female, and the music video was her in a flight attendant uniform...

Hi guys, i need some help: as a 3rd year student of japanese in my college, i'm about to start working on my graduation research about the history of japanese punk music.

Problem is, to only get the theme accepted, i have to show my superivsor that there already is a bibliography about it, but i'm having troubles finding any sort of book related, be it in english or japanese.

Can anyone lend me a hand on this? Anything that is related to punk's history or just modern landscape is more than welcome.

after slowdive's suggestion, maybe this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tx2PQeI-vnQ

unfortunately your description doesn't narrow things down that much. "flight attendant" is like #3 behind "schoolgirl" and "maid" for common themes. any idea around what year? style of music?

this is a good shirt. I would wear this shirt.
