Listening to the new album by 385 ''Ningen'' Great indie/punk album. Also, ''Solid State Survivor'' by Yellow Magic Orchestra and as I said, ''Spiral'' by Immi. Oh and Waiting for My Food by Vola and the Oriental Machines.

Principle remains better than their previous albums

not a whole exciting releases by Japanese indies these days. The Mirraz is releasing another album, but I am sort of burnt out by them. The have way too many releases in such a short amount of time.

I still have yet to listen to the new BIGMAMA and Last Alliance albums, so maybe, I'll have something to fall behind. Oh and I keep forgetting about the new album by She Her Her Hers .

Dude you should totally check out Head on the Sofa and May.e. They both self released free albums, which is offered through Tanukineiri, not too long ago. Head on the Sofa sounds like shoegaze/lo-fi while May.e is indie pop with acoustic instruments and soft, pleasant vocals. You can download Head on the Sofa's LP here and May.e's EP here. May.e's album is one of my favorites of the year so far.

While not Japanese artist I think it's worth mentioning Meishi Smile's EP, Mysterious Summer Vacation here in this thread. Why? Because it's awesome and it's inspired by Japanese anime and Shibuya-Kei, in fact it remixes couple of anime openings/endings. This album is also offered for free and can be found here

BIGMAMA's album is pretty cool, I think the one released last year was better but still, I really liked it.

Also, new Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra PV, featuring Takeshi Hosomi! I was so excited when they announced this collaboration, I'm not disappointed.

Hosomi is still my favorite Japanese vocalist, love him so much. He definitely is the musician/person I admire the most.

Yeah I enjoyed the two singles.

Perfume are going to release all their live dvds on blu-ray, and all their singles on itunes, and all their full PVs will be uploaded to youtube! Nice announcement to get me in the mood for seeing them live tomorrow.

Looking forward to hearing the extended mixes eventually. I wonder if the "extended mix" versions are actually the original full length songs and they edit the songs down for the album.

For fun, Ichiro with his two favorite albums

Just 3 weeks left until their show in Paris, I'm so excited...
But the show I'm the most looking forward to is ONE OK ROCK's in October.
They had to add another show in Paris because the first one was already sold out. Actually, the second show is already sold out, too! Just like the first one, all the tickets were gone in a few hours. Still can't believe I'll see them soon, ONE OK ROCK is without a doubt my favorite active band...

In other news, The Flickers's first full album will be released in a few days (June 19th).
I can't wait!

I watched that PV two days ago, and I wasn't too blown away. I do like it, though. I'll pick up the album.

Edit: After listening to it a second time, I am more excited for the album.

I saw the reactions of people who didn't know Perfume on Twitter after the event. Needless to say they were all really impressed by them.
I'm so happy to see that they're getting more recognition. IMO they really embody modern J-Pop.
Two weeks remaining until their Paris show!

Speaking of...the new Kyary Pamyu Pamyu album is really fantastic. Pretty much every song is great. Wide grin on my face the whole time. I'm now happy forever and probably diabetic.

Thanks for those recommendations. Head on The Sofa sounds very 80s The Cure-like (Disintegration and Pornography) which I really love. I am digging that. About to give May.e a whirl, I have listen to them in the past, but just snippets. Can't wait.

Everyone here should really give 385 a listen, one of my favourite album this year and is up there with the one of the mots original content. They sound quite similar to Midori and Che-a in the sense of combining punk with Jazz elements. Hefty stuff.

Yes it was pretty good, though imo the songs we already heard on the singles are the best.
み is cool, too.

New [Champagne] album, Me Do No Karate, is soooooooooo good, as good as (if not better than) their 2012 album, Schwarzenegger which was already fantastic.
I can already say that it's one of my favorite albums of the year.
The singles were pretty damn good, the new songs are also excellent. I love Travel, Kick & Spin and Rise.

Never really gave [Champagne] a listen before, how they sound?

@Faridmon - I'm glad you like Head on the Sofa and I thought the same thing about their music when i heard it. They offer all of their EPs for free on their bandcamp if you want more. I highly recommend their めまい EP

Cheers. I will give them chance. Right now I am floored with so many albums. This year have been amazing for Music.

Personally never been fan of [Champagne], in fact, I would go as far and say their music irritates me. The vocals delivery is bad and the music is trying to be progressive without any plan or structure. I am sure others will disagree with me, but that's where I stand.
