Which one? I am listening to Spectrochroma and I have yet to develop some sort of impression on. ephoriaofeuphobia, however, now that is an excellent record.

by the way, they don't have ''Albums'' but mini-albums :p

I have Spectrochroma. I'll check out ephoriaofeuphobia!

Does anyone know of any J-pop groups/artists that are similar to Stereopony's music? Their Best of album is a favourite of mine but I just haven't a clue where to go next. Chiisana Mahou was the song that got me into them.

So I've watched (and listened to) the HIATUS's The Afterglow Tour 2012.
And... wow. I was just speechless after watching it.
I mean, the band was already awesome when they had their regular line-up you know, but adding an orchestra simply made everything even more mind-blowing.
The new arrangements with the orchestra added a new dimension to their songs, they feel even more epic, touching...
Just watch it, or listen to the live album.
Definitely one of the best active bands right now by a large margin.

Here are bands that have female vocalists that are way better than Stereopony (and have better name) :p

MiChi isn't really similar to Stereopony.

I guess you could try SpecialThanks, miwa or Scandal. I don't listen to a lot of pop-rock female artists/bands with a female vocalist so...

Man, call me crazy but I just feel a bit... empty after Perfume's show. I really didn't expect this.
I mean, I already liked Perfume A LOT before the concert, but I was just so amazed and blown away by this show, it broke my expectations... I like them even more now, I feel closer to them, and now it's over and I feel a bit depressed. Damn it!

You'll now buy all their concert Blurays.

I feel exactly the same. The day after it was over I realised I hadn't had that much fun in a while and might not again for some time. I might also never get a chance to see them again... Oh, to be able to rewind time...

I'm going to Japan for 3 weeks in November, so it looks like I'll miss them, but I can hopefully see some other concerts. Does anyone have any advice on seeing concerts in Japan?
I'll just have to wait and see what's announced, is there a decent way to keep an eye out? In English preferably.

Edit: I also demand that Perfume release a complete PV collection Bluray.

I saw Shugo Tokumaru play in LA on Friday and it was terrific. Exceeded my expectations - hearing a full-band play the song took it to another level.

Shugo has a couple more shows on this US tour (Portland and Seattle). Details: http://www.shugotokumaru.com/index_eng.html

Also, cross-posting from the jazz-hop thread because new ESNO is that good.

I have no idea, I just remember loving the intro to the show and then that thread popped up about anime intros. Figured someone here would know more about the band.

Just got around to listening to the new Champagne album. It's really good, much better than I expected.

Hmm I gave that album a listen and mind you this is the first time I heard material from that band, to me it was basically "oh like another Japanese rock band I'll forget about".

Yup, they keep on improving with each album they release and they've been gaining notoriety recently, they totally deserve to be more popular.
Truly one of the best rock bands at the moment imo

In other news, the latest androp is awesome : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VI_rg-TnGNs
A bit weird that it is the theme song of the drama Woman, which is a bit sad (read "depressing") so the song doesn't really fit the tone of the show :lol

The latest CreepHyp is also quite good, looking forward to their new album : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glmtc_36cE0

Ningen OK have released a new song through their soundcloud which means that new Album is imminent. Can't wait for it.

For people who don't NIngen OK, They are Shoegaze/ Post-Rock band that really got people excited about their technique and their tempo. Their main attraction is that they create their post-rock/math sound entirely with electronic synth which is unheard of. Their debut album was quite good.

Some new songs from the past 24 hours for you all.

Ken the 390
One of my favorite rappers, but I don't like the chorus. I'm sorta disappointed in his recent stuff.

My non-interest in AKB48 turned into disgust with the head shaving thing and the ugly examples they set for the purity ideals of the idol world, but I have no choice to but turn 180 and support them after this Sashihara chick took over the reigns. First there's this:

"If that didn't happen, this (placing 1st) wouldn't have happened. I'm grateful to that weekly tabloid, Weekly Bunshun."

Then Sanma asked: "What kind of guy do you like?"

Sashihara: "A person who can keep a secret."

which can be seen here http://youtu.be/IsHZdxCA0f4

then there's this tidbit:

Talk then moved on to the reactions on her win.

“People around me couldn’t congratulate me sincerely.Up till now, there were 2 groups of people, those who wanted to defend No.1 and those who wanted to take down No.1 . But I won despite having nothing to do with them, so when i visited Akimoto san after the elections, he gave me a face like he didn’t like it.“

Now there's this:

The 20-year-old HKT48 idol was recently interviewed by a fashion magazine, and wasted no time brushing off the scandal and her management’s expectations that she maintain the pretense of virginity:

“I have no idea whether there is supposed to be some sort of rule about not dating now… it’s not like nobody has anybody, I’ve got friends.”

Her demotion to HKT48 after the scandal erupted evidently left her unimpressed as well:

“I’m psychologically really strong. I don’t take much notice of people, and often don’t give a damn about what they think… I really worried about what to do when it happened, but after a little while I couldn’t give a fig about it any more.
I was unhappy the day it happened, but the day after I was back in high spirits. I can just change negative events into positive ones inside.
I don’t want people to misunderstand and think I don’t regret my actions, but I’m really quick to return to my usual high spirits.”

And as to her many vocal critics, she reveals she doesn’t actually care what they think as she gets paid either way:
“I don’t even look… there’s sort of a wall of me not caring, maybe that’s the difference between me and some of the other members.
Even if they are abusing me, I just think of it as me getting more money for doing nothing.
