Interesting profile of the band where they talk about barely knowing the early 90s references and aesthetic they use in their videos, and how it's kind of novel for people of their age. In case you wanted to feel really old today.

Also talks about how Schtein&Longer made his own muzak versions of Especia songs. I got confused by the Soundcloud track for No.1 Super and wondered if he just repurposed old material for the band. Turns out it was the other way around.

Charisma.com has a mini-live on Saturday night at Tower Records Shinjuku at 18:00. I would go, but I have the winnie concert that night.

i was really impressed by them in that live show yesterday, they played for about 40 minutes but i enjoyed it throughout, so i imagine being there would have been 10x better.

finally managed to track down that BiS Record Store Day vinyl edition of 'Who Killed Idol?', here's a crappy picture of what the gatefold looks like

Looks like Revo of Sound Horizon is composing the new Sailor Moon OP with Momoiro Clover Z performing. Since I only really like Momokuro when they play their weird, non-mainstream sounding stuff, this is excellent news.

Haha no I'm not in Japan sadly, I live in the UK and I'm probably the only person over here who now owns (or would want to own?) any BiS vinyl.
Charisma.com & BiS played live the other day & it was streamed on http://2-5-d.jp/vice25d/
I'd give anything to see BiS live before they split up, YouTube videos make it look crazy fun! Not going to happen tho :(

Oh, weird. So I just got the Especia album in, and you know how all these Japanese CDs have that paper spine wrapper for the CD case? Well, this one has a URL and a login on the inside of the paper that leads to a bunch of instrumentals/acapella versions? Is this a common thing? Cuz it's neat!

Mannn... they are not even trying to hide how rigged/obvious the next pushes are going to be this year. its hard to see some of these ranks #saltyashell

I know Yamamoto won't disappoint but its lame seeing the standbys like Mochi and Ume chan so low.

Sasshi will be back next year. Thrives the best as an underdog. Congrats to Mayuyu though who's probably the only winner so far who had this as her main goal.

Mayuyu was the ideal winner. Well, as long as Jurina didn't win lol.

Saddened Miichan only got 22 and I reiterate what was said about Umechan, Mocchi.

It's sad to see girls like Kobayashi Kana, Shiichan and Mariko not rank at all.


Ikoma in the top 16 is surely a fix, right?

The concert was awesomeeee!!!! I would have cried if winnie played "Forget Me Not," so that was a close one. I got to meet everyone but the drummer, and they were all really nice. Irori and Okuji were as great as I had imagined. I bought two shirts, and they gave me free guitar picks. ^^

Scars Borough also put on a great show, and their lead singer has a fantastic stage presence. Her dancing was energetic and badass.

All the bands were good, in fact. There wasn't an act I didn't enjoy!

N46 is possibly the second most popular group connected to AKB at the moment. Every new single that they release shows an increase over the last. Their last single actually outsold NMB, HKT and SKE's last singles. And Ikoma isn't even the most popular girl in the group. If they open up the voting to all girls from that group (which they should) then watch how fast Naachan shoots up the ranking. She could possibly get close to Kami7 on a first vote. That's how popular she is.

I think that there were two big surprises in this election. The first was Tanabe Miku ranking. You could tell from her reaction that she wasn't expecting to hear her name called at all. The second one was Milky dropping out of senbatsu. Many had picked her to possibly make it into the Kami7, and instead she drops entirely out of senbatsu. It's strange that her and Sayanee's popularity have gone in different directions ever since she (Milky) won that photobook competition between the two of them a few years ago. Sayanee is now becoming a legitimate contender for #1 and is also rumored to take over for Takamina when she graduates, and Milky is just fighting to make it into senbatsu.

I love the cover. It's nothing special but it gives me some good vibes.
Anyways, it feels good to have a new full album, the last one came out in 2011 so I was quite hyped for this new one.
Base Ball Bear has always been a consistent band, I can't think an objectively bad song by them. Japanese pop-rock at its finest, the vocalist's voice is still one of my favorites.
Solid production, it's polished and you can feel that a lot of effort went into each song.
Easy to listen to, but still as some interesting songs, like the 10 minutes long 光蘚.
Overall a damn good album.
