What a shit show, for what it's worth, Jason is still saying no delay to 2023 and Cory Barlog has also said the game isn't being delayed but who knows who to believe these days.

This 2022 vs 2023 release date debate shaping out to be one to remember...

I'm still expecting and hoping for a delay to March 2023. I already have too many games in the Fall to play. I don't need another one.

That's what I thought when I read that comment.

I'm sorry your understanding was different but I said we don't know what the internally projected release date at the moment is for him to say 'its not delayed'.

It is ridiculous they are being so shy about putting out a blog with release date and pre order link.

If nobody knew what the internally projected release date is why would he tell someone who doesn't know that it's not delayed?

He obviously meant the common knowledge that we all have. And that common knowledge is that the game will release this year.

You do know he's under NDA right?

That's the thing the information we have publicly may not be the most accurate one. In 2020, we publicly knew Ragnarok was aimed for a 2021 release. The latest info we know publicly is that it may or may not be targeted for 2022 still.

Until we have an actual release date it's all hearsay.

Cory's response may not technically be a lie because it's not yet delayed...because they haven't announced the delay.

Exactly. People need to read the words spoken and understand what is or is not being said. Marketing/mouthpieces for companies are masters at getting people to interpret things the way they want while ACTUALLY saying something else. Done so in a way so as to be misleading but not prosecutable. For another example, see the verbiage around Call of Duty's future on non-Microsoft platforms.

Repeating what i said in the other thread:

The snitch is about to get snitched:

Here's what I think happened. Sony uploaded a private teaser video to YouTube with bogus info. 'The Snitch' took the bait. Now Sony can determine for certain the leaker works for YouTube and request Google take action.

This was all some elaborate plot by Sony to find out who The Snitch is...

Anyway, I said March 2023 months ago and I'm sticking to it, would be happy if we got it this year but I'm good either way and rest assured the game is going to sell *millions* no matter what, can't wait, take all the time you need SSM.

It's on Sonys website. It says " Release date 2022 ".

What Cory is referencing is that date not some internal release date that we don't know about.

That could also be true. But it could also be true that the game is still coming this year. Don't see how Cory's statement disproves either.

But yes I agree that he's making a reference to that 2022 release window.

Totally agree. It's not yet clear--hence why we're all hubbubbin' about it!
