So given the difference between digital and physical release dates should I assume that the digital will be the regular 5 volume release while the physical one will be Jojonium?

Giorno is pretty poor but Jotaro has like.... zero personality.

Jotaro have very clear personality... most of the time people complaining like this the cause almost always because he not talking much, say if you met me in real life and you find me rather quiet speaker is that means I have no personality? Seriously?

We know what gonna agitate Jotaro over the course of series, his way of thinking.. how that can't defined as "personality" ? The term of "no personality" should've used when the character have no unrecognizable trait that the maker fail to build upon, pretty sure Jotaro is exact opposite of that.

and despite the stigma he shown various emotion, he even crying at the end of Stardust Crusader.. and the scene itself is pretty good, because as part of survivor he recognizing the hard journey with the others.

A JoJo fighting game shouldn't have health bars, but instead a body damage system where hitting the right places will either cripple or kill your opponent. The focus of combat should be about setting up and delivering kill blows or disabling the opponent while also avoiding that.

I'm caught up to the most recent JoJolion! 25 years of JoJo in 2-3 weeks...it's a pretty roundabout way of tackling the series.

Favorite Stands: Gold Experience, Echoes, Killer Queen, Sticky Fingers, Scary Monsters (EVERYBODY WALK THE DIOSAUR)
Favorite Protagonists: Josuke, Joseph, Jotaro, Jolyne, Johnny, Giorno, Koichi Hirose (he's just too cool to be a sidekick)
Favorite Antagonists: Yoshikage Kira, Dio, Valentine
Favorite Sidekick: William Anthonio Zeppeli, Stroheim, Part 3 gang, Part 4 bros, Part 5 mafia beauties, Part 6 jailbirds...Part 7--Okay, can I just say everyone?
Favorite Side-Villain: Daniel J. D'Arby [GOOD]
Cheapest Stand ever: Made in Heaven
Deus Ex Machina: The super special undefeatable Golden Rectangle rotationmabob
Thing I dislike the most: All those dead dogs. I can't like ONE DOG without Araki splitting him in half or turning him into an accordion or something. Although
the new pup in JoJolion could be awesome NO WAIT ARAKI DON'T DO IT ;___;
Parts Ranking: THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE IT'S LIKE CHOOSING YOUR FAVORITE PIXAR FILM YOU GUYS ARE INSANE

-ahem-

1) Stardust Crusaders
Your top JoJo pick usually comes down to nostalgia or your personal preference of characters. Part 3 has everything I love about JoJo: an awesome cast, a grand adventure, crazy over-the-top battles with Stands...need I say more?
I get the complaints about Jotaro, especially because he's around for a long, long, long time, but I really like his don't-mess-with-my-crew attitude.

If the nostalgia of rereading Part 3 over and over wasn't enough to take the top spot, it has the D'Arby fights. Automatic victory.

2) Diamond is Unbreakable
Part 4 took me completely by surprise! I was initially turned off by the goofy Stand Bad Company (That one page with the little toy soldiers almost made me choke on my soda), but the entire cast and small-town setting made it very interesting to read.
Plus, as Araki has stated, Kira is probably the best antagonist ever. He's like Dio, but he actually does things rather than bumming around for the Joestar Pack to show up.
Josuke and Crazy Diamond provide a myriad of interesting scenarios with that crazy healing power. Plus Josuke may be the best Joestar of all time. Koichi was no slouch either--I thought he'd be another Do-Nothing Danny™, but then he went Super Saiyan and I loved 'em.

Also...is Mikitaka Hazekura somehow related to Cars? Maybe formed from a fragment of the Deep Space Cars meteor? He's an alien that can become anything, so...

3) Steel Ball Run
I didn't expect to put SBR up so high. After Araki basically reset the universe with THE MOST OP STAND THIS SIDE OF D4C, I was very critical of a universe without everyone's favorite characters.

Then I realized it was It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World with Stands.

Gyro was a very cool character to follow, and Johnny's spinning techniques with Tusk were very fun to watch.
Definitely did NOT expect
Gyro to bite the bullet and DIO WITH THE WORLD WHAT
Also, how did Pocoloco get Hey Ya? He never have a corpse part.

4) Phantom Blood/Battle Tendency
The first two parts have fallen a bit lower on my list due to the excellence of the later parts, but rest assured: THERE ARE NO BAD JOJO PARTS. Even the lowest member on this list can outshine typical manga.

Part 1 is very introductory and may be overlooked by most people, but I personally enjoy the slow yet study setup. I felt awful for poor Jonathan--the guy never caught a break because DIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Part 2 needed to be much, much longer. Only three Pillar Men? Poor Ceasar doesn't get much of a chance to shine outside his iconic death.
But young Jonathan makes up for any shortcomings this Part has.

5) Stone Ocean
Some people look down on Stone Ocean for being such a radical departure, but I actually enjoyed it save for the ending. Jolyne proves to be an awesome newcomer, and her entourage of Ermess, F.F., Emporio, etc. are a real treat to follow.

Then the ending happens.
Instead of Jolyne getting to do something, Emporio gets the disc and uses his...sudden...knowledge of the universe to defeat the crazy dimensional Stand?

So is the new universe the same as SBR/JoJolion? Why can't we follow a grown-up Emporio or something? Maybe link it back to the old universe somehow with another crazy Stand that leaps through time and space?

Araki pls

6) Vento Aureo
Wait, don't shoot! Don't shoot!

Part 5 is in no way terrible. I enjoy the mafia aspect, and the main cast once again shines through. It's a combination of the story and random weird nonsense that makes it rank the lowest.

The Stands were interesting, and the mafia/escort mission was done well, but something just felt off about the story near the end. On top of King Crimson existing solely to confuse readers to death, we are suddenly thrust into a subplot involving Polnareff and Silver Chariot that becomes a wild goose chase for an arrow that Girono stabs into himself to create a Stand who exists solely to nullify King Crimson and Araki why

(Unranked) JoJolion
This one's a bit obvious. Since it's not finished, you can't truly compare it to the awesome complete parts. But from what we've seen so far, Josuke's amnesia, the crazy colorful Higashikata family, and the mystery of Kira, make this a potential contender for higher ranks.

And to cap it all off, a repost of all those cool MADs.

Here's to you, my watch-JoJo-anime-only crazy friend who prefers saying Hamon instead of Ripple. May you see this post in the year 2057.

Now to read through 31 pages of awesomeness.

I wouldn't call Made in Heaven cheap. From a combat perspective it's beatable, as Emporio showed. It's definitely not as cheap as King Crimson or GER.

I guess by cheap I meant
because it literally shifts the main story over to a new universe. GER could probably be the cheapest because it can nullify any power.

Probably should've said D4C because as long as there's a tiny bit of space, you can leap into a new universe and be healed.

Well
the universe creation wasn't the power of Made in Heaven, that was because Pucci was killed before he reached the Space Center again. Pucci's power was basically allowing him to do a complete life cycle of the universe, so that everyone would be able to know and accept their fate.
D4C feels like another powerful, balanced stand. His ability is amazing but I doubt it would be able to hold up against the strength of a primary close range stand like Star Platinum, much like Killer Queen couldn't match to the pure strength and speed of Crazy Diamond.

Despite the whole series up until the new universe making Dio a pillar of the overall narrative, I think Dio (as a collection of characters lol) looked best in SBR despite it taking away his role. Being a secondary villain allowed us to get a better look at his cunning and also root for him at times when he went up against impossible odds even thought he was still a horrible person. I thought Di(n)o was lame at first, but it turned out to be a pretty cool power and he almost took out Valentine with Hot Pants (admittedly, before he got truly OP). Then the alternate universe Diego showing up with The World was such an awesome surprise and his rise and fall was really cool. I liked the Phantom Blood parallels too: Dinosaur-Vampire, headless-living through decapitation.

Rewrite

Not as deep as he thinks
That digital release...does that mean they aren't going to have physical releases for part 1 and 2?

They're doing a physical release of JoJonium. Phantom Blood releases physically in early 2015, I don't remember the month. They haven't announced it for the other parts yet but that'll probably come when it gets closer.

Finished rereading Part 4.

Hot damn, I might just put it over Part 2 in my ranking. I just really enjoy the mystery elements Araki put in and it makes me giddy as hell thinking about how amazing Jojolion might turn out.

I should re-read part 4 now that it's retranslated, might wait till 5 is done too though.

It still sits second under 7, as is right.

The Jojo discussion cycle is real;

Parts rankings -> Villain discussion (aka Diavolo sucks) ->
"what the fuck GER"
-> misc. Tumblr/meme stuff -> new translation and/or volumes discussion -> new reader comes in or somebody rereads something -> Parts rankings -> ...
ad infinitum with some anime discussion and Jojolion mixed in.

4>2=7>6>3=1>5 c'mon let's be real guys

4 > 6 > 2 > 7 > 3 = 5 > 1, IMO. 5 would probably be higher if it weren't for the cruddy translation screwing up the characterization of the Bruno Crewno.

They're still here.

I know they are because a friend directly linked me to them, but what I mean is that on my end there is nothing to take me to them in the main Jojo page. Hell, they don't even show up in the related videos section while watching the dub, instead it only shows ep 13 and 14.

I really, really like 2 but I just love the structure and battles of stand era JoJo so much more. Even when it comes to the more divisive parts you still get battles like Green Day & Oasis and Bohemian Rhapsody and it's just the most amazing shit ever.

Damn I really want to see part 5 anime, even the part itself far from my favorite.. the fight just so explosive for that one.

If there is one Jojo moment I need to see animated before I die, Giorno beating the fuck out of Cioccolatta (understatement) is certainly at the top of the list.

Just seeing the Cioccolatta encounter is probably going to be one of the more interesting animated scenes of all time.

That stand... it's, how do I put this.... very unsettling. ESPECIALLY by the time Giorno gos wryy on his ass.

There's no way they can censor Vento Aureo. People like to talk about how the earlier JoJo characters are tough but Buccellati's Gang are some serious mother fuckers. They'd have to have the highest kill count of all the JoJo groups.

When part 5 gets rescanned it might change, but Gio is boring. Should be Bruno's bizarre adventure.

For all intents and purposes, it is. Even if it gets rescanned and retranslated and Giorno's supposed personality comes through, it'll still be Bruno's Bizarre Adventure.

Oh I totally agree, it's just so weird to see a Jojo as a background character, even if he beats the big bad. SBR handled it much better.

I've decided to do the OT for Part 4 and 5 anime, and in case anyone is wondering, I still believe they will be made.
Subtitle for Part 4 anime OT is obviously gonna be 'What a beautiful Duwang'
Part 5 is...tricky...so far I've got
Le Bizzarre Avventure di GioGio anime |OT| Passione of the JoJo
Le Bizzarre Avventure di GioGio anime |OT| aka BuBu's Fabulous Odyssey

Just finished Part 6 ;_;

Besides the fact that I'm still processing what just happened that was easily one of my favourite parts, top 3 definitely. I can understand why some people were turned off by the ending, but Araki managed to blow my mind again by how he just keeps upping the ante again and again. If SBR is even better, I can't wait to dive into that next (although I'm going to take a few hours break in order to regain my composure after that ending).

Jolyne is easily my favourite protagonist after Joseph. Her willpower and the amount of abuse she endured was fucking hardcore. Her resolution at the end was both heartbreaking and simultaneously awesome.

Jolyne didn't get enough time to do anything really. F.F. pretty much stole the show. Then Araki got to take up like 20 pages with his usual Star-Platinum-stops-time-but-SOMETHING-IS-WRONG-and-Jotaro-says-"Something-is-wrong".

I completely disagree. Her fight with Rikyel, Westwood, Miu Miu, Versace and C Moon were some of the highlights of Part 6 for me. In terms of willpower and the amount of abuse and mutilation she endures while barely flinching easily makes her rank as one of the most hardcore members of the Joestar family. Yeah F.F. was awesome, but to say she stole the show would be absolute nonsense.

And in regards to the last fight, I think it was a really cool subversion of our expectations by Araki. She faced what was a hopeless fight and placed her hopes on Emporio (whom she gave Weather Report's abilities, that ended up being the key to defeat Pucci). She embraced her demise fearlessly in hopes of Emporio's survival managing to preserve the Joestar's existence and honour. Considering this harkens back to the ending of Phantom Blood, Jolyne is one of the most quintessential Joestars since Jonathan (as is her father since he did the same for her as she did for Emporio). The fact that Araki didn't settle for your typical McGyvere-esque type of ending where the main Joestar outwits an incredibly op main villain makes the ending of Part 6 all the more powerful. Jolyne was hardly "robbed" as a protagonist-at least nowhere NEAR as much as Giorno, or hell, even Josuke.
