[Not true] Joycon 2 has same internal quality and build as Joycon 1.

This is how misinformation spreads btw. One twitter/ reddit random posts something as "fact" and everyone just assumes it's true and spreads it.

How about you let an actual tech professional declare this before making something out of nothing. I haven't even heard of drift being an issue with the new controllers for the last 2 years or so

I do not know about the OP, but this is real mis info. The joycons have the least ergonomic joysticks that are most prone to drift. They should have just gone with the full sized conventional or hall effect modules used by the PC handhelds.

There are a few disassembly video's and threads that state the same information. It seems JC1 and JC2 are as good as identical.

Knowing Nintendo, there is no doubt in my mind that they would have cheaped out on the joysticks. The joycons are really uncomfortable. Luckily, my cheap hall effect gamesir and terios controllers should be compatible with the Switch 2.

I haven't heard of widespread drift in over 2 years. Did the original joycons have issues? Yes. Wtf does that have to do with entirely new joycons that Nintendo would clearly want to design to NOT have those same issues??

Like I said, how about waiting for an ACTUAL known trusted source instead of "trust me bro, I read it on reddit"? How tf is that misinformation?

NintenPC fanboys are the most defensive, insufferable twats on this website and not worth engaging with. The Bowser guy is atleast entertaining with his broken english schtick and infectious enthusiasm.
How very dare you sir!

GigaBowser GigaBowser is forgiven. I normally like to take the piss out of everyone, but read his off topic posts and you can see he's had to deal with brain damage from alcohol. I'm glad he was able to share and you're right.. infectious optimism.

Dude, I am literally lying in front of my door bc it's getting delivered any moment but:

- reports of 3rd party games having bad framerate because of no VRR on docked
- reports of Joycons having the same build quality as JC1
- no HAL sticks for a 90$ controller
- no analogue triggers for a 90$ controller so we can't even play racing games
- LCD and HDR quality being underwhelming
- NSO having ugly borders with a profile icon that can't be removed
- No game I want to play besides MKW

makes me doubt my preorder. To the point I'm actually considering not opening it up, sending it back, and order a PS5 Pro. And that's coming from someone who doesn't even think PlayStation is doing a good job.

I have been a day 1 Nintendo nerd since 2001. I have spend thousands of dollars on their products. I can think whatever I want.

Add this to the OP then, debunking this "news" 😂

Not the same design… debunked.

Perhaps it's time for an internet blackout? It's the worst time to get impressions anyways since everyone is high on hype; reality is often disappointing.

Stop the act mate. It's getting old.

really? I mean I'm excited for my Switch 2 to arrive already today but LordOcidax and GigaBowser have been absolutely insufferable on here

most of the blue fanboys have been banned at this point and AdamsApple is at least entertaining
Namecalling is most likely not allowed, but i think we got more than 1 Xbox fanboy here and for sure much more PS fanboys.

I want through three sets of Joycons during the life of the Switch 1. Those controllers are dog shit.

I wasn't getting a Switch 2 at launch because of pricing and lack of a killer app for me, but now we're finding out the controllers still suck and the screen is not great either? Easy pass for now.

We knew that Nintendo redesigned the joycons but without using tech that would fundamentally prevent drift. Whether it will be a widespread problem again is anyone's guess.

This… Is too early to tell, also HAL joystick have others problems like magnet fatigue due the size of the magnets and calibration issues. The Dreamcast joystick suffered both of this issues… Time will tell if the new design solved the issue of the Switch 1 joystick.

Joycons feel extremely different, especially the stick. It's a massive leap over Switch 1. But sure, they're the same internal quality. Okay.

Only reason I'm posting is because my son hijacked my Switch 2...

At least they are detachable and replaceable, that's the only saving grace when it comes to these things.

The lube probably keeps them working just fine until a few weeks after the warranty expires.

VRR doesn't improve frame rates.
No actual reports(yet) of the joycons being identical.
Screen is good considering it's tech.
Who cares if you like it or the games?
