Schiavone, Nitro 10/4/99: "This has been a very exciting weekend for WCW. World Championship Wrestling signed two of the most creative men in professional wresting today. And we're very happy to announce that Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara were recently signed to be a part of the WCW creative team."

Uh-oh...

Heenan: "I love the names -- Russo and Ferrara. Sounds like two cheap bottles of wine."

Amazing that a wrestling program even recognized the writing staff.

New Japan's last Kizuna Road show is tonight on njpwworld.com, last show before the start of the G1.

Features Shibata vs. Honma for the NEVER title, The Elite vs. Kojima, Sydal, and Ricochet for the NEVER six-man titles, and a CHAOS vs. Los Ingobernables 8-man elimination tag.

If this is given time it could be match of the year contender .

I hope this is true!!!

According to several reports going around online, wrestling legend Yoshihiro Tajiri has signed a new deal with WWE and will remain on with the company following the upcoming Cruiserweight Classic. Wrestlezone has reached out to WWE for comment and will update this post if any new information becomes available.

Tajiri, 45, left WWE in 2005 and other than an appearance at the 2006 ECW One Night Stand PPV, has not been back in an on-screen role with the company since. He has since worked all around the world, including TNA, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and ended up signing a deal with Wrestle-1. According to reports, Tajiri’s contract with Wrestle-1 expired earlier this week and he will not be renewing, along with AKIRA, Minoru Tanaka, Ryota Hama and Nakanokami Yasushibun, who are all leaving the promotion.

Tajiri is a 3-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion, 2-time WWE tag champion, and a former WWF Light Heavyweight Champion, ECW tag team and television champion, WCW United States Champion, and CMLL Light Heavywight Champion. No word on whether WWE intends to use him as an active wrestle or in a backstage role or developmental trainer, if indeed the rumors are confirmed.

It's true, was reported 2 days ago but it's finally making some noise today which is weird. This is big stuff to me.

Possibly. Honma has done extremely well in his previous NEVER title matches against Ishii, and they had a great match two G1s ago. No way Honma is winning on a non-major show like this, but I agree, it could be quite good as long as he brings the stiffness to match Shibata - maybe not an MOTY but quite good.

The Elite vs. Kojima/Ricochet/Sydal seems thrown together as hell to me, but then again Kojima is taking Tanahashi's place on the tour so it makes sense. I could see a title change considering how little NJPW cares about the NEVER six-man titles (even less than the Jr. tag titles, and THAT'S saying something) but I think the Elite keeps them to build up Kenny as a big threat in the G1.

Well I'll be damned Eric Bischoff is trying to sign that hack Hunter to raw, even though he had him in wCw as Terra Ryzing lol!

Anyone else annoyed when Cole calls Becky the "self-proclaimed" Irish Lass Kicker? Instead of just the Irish Lass Kicker? It'd be one thing if she was heel but she's not and it pretty no sells the nickname.

Haha, Asuka's face says it all.

I like the idea and crazy visuals of the tna hardy feud more than the execution. The Hardys are still shit at promos (Matt has always been a touch better).

LOLTNA

In 2014, when Grado was catching on as a viral star, AIW decided to be the first people to book Grado in America. So they decide to run three straight nights, build the shows around Grado, put his name in the show titles, etc. They had to book him a long time in advance because of how booked up Grado was. Then Grado starts working with TNA and does the British Bootcamp. AIW is excited at first, seeing as how this is more exposure for a guy they're booking. Then with four to six weeks notice, Jeremy Borash calls them and tells them TNA has decided to run One Night Only PPV tapings on the same weekend and that Grado is needed for backstage stuff. Borash then tells AIW that they will pay for the 900 dollar plane ticket AIW already purchased for Grado and they will send them some talent for the shows to make up for this (This was during a time when TNA was not allowing their guys to work indies). Since they're taping One Night Only PPVs I guess they felt like they could book out the weekend so those guys could work AIW? Anyway, Borash tells them to make a list of talent they want and says that everyone is on the table for them.

AIW makes a list they say is basically all the cool guys in TNA. Joe, Aries, Beer Money, EC3, Angle, Dudleys, Taz "Just to do a spot", and even Dixie. Borash gets back to them and tells them they can have The Bromans, Taryn Terrell, Sam Shaw and Jay Bradley. "They were really pushing Terrell" on them, they said. AIW makes it clear that those dudes aren't going to draw, and they finally select the coolest person of what was offered to them, which was Abyss. Then TNA tells them they can only have Abyss for one of the three nights, and later changes what night he's available for. Then when they announce Abyss, Abyss freaks out online and buries AIW, gets in an angry call with them and "motherfucks them" and generally seems to have no idea that he's been booked for AIW, saying no one has told him and that AIW is false advertising. The next day he calls them back, says Bob Ryder said someone forgot to tell him he had been booked for AIW, and apologizes.

Then TNA is dragging their heels on paying back the 900 dollar plane ticket they promised to pay back, saying that AIW needs to ask Grado for the money. Grado says they need to get the money from TNA. Finally with the help of Borash and Grado, AIW gets the money.

Through it all they say Borash was a real nice guy and was fighting for them, because the TNA office felt like they didn't owe AIW anything. They also say Abyss is a cool guy despite this. Still, whenever Mecca talks about how WWE and Evolve are killing indie wrestling and companies need to work with TNA to save it, I'll remember stories like this.

The Hardys feud is literally the best thing in professional wrestling right now, and that's depressing.

There are about a million things better than it, including the videos making fun of it.

You are even higher than Matt and Jeff are to think that. That's a shoot.

This is the best thing in professional wrestling right now:

Yeah, it bothers me. Other commentators seem fine with just the Lass Kicker, but Cole won't shut up with the self-proclaimed. Hell I can't even recall Becky calling herself the Irish Lass Kicker that much. It's not really a nickname that's worked into her promos but more an overall thing, usually they just settle for the "lass as a substitute for ass" pun thing.
