Can you imagine the hate someone would get for a 648 day championship reign today?

WWF wasn't on tv every week for anybody to care. You only cared when the show was coming to your town. If you didn't read Pro Wrestling illustrated or whatever those rags were called then, you wouldn't know if someone ever dropped a title.

If WWE had no tv and only ran house shows 4 days a week with no internet, Cena would probably be champion for 5+ years. Wasn't Moolah Women's champ for like 10 years?

here is my WWE title prediction for MITB.

It wont matter who wins.

Big show wins MITB and cashes in. Cena uses his infinite Title Shot cheat code to get a shot at summerslam.

AJ, Bryan and Punk continue the madness for another month without the title.

I'll bet you three weeks of supporting Kane that you're wrong.

Woah, WTF - a month or so back you may remember that Japanese wrestlers NOSAWA & Io Shirai were arrested coming back to Japan from Mexico when marijuana was found smuggled in two paintings some Mexican fans had made for them. Io was released on bail, but NOSAWA's bail price was too high and he ultimately lost his booking as the new Black Tiger in New Japan (which would have been redeeming for NOSAWA, who was let go from NJPW last year after a drunken incident that saw him arrested for stealing a taxi).

Anyway, eventually both Io & NOSAWA were cleared of all charges, claiming they knew nothing about the marijuana, but now it's come out that freelance Japanese wrestler & AAA wrestler SUGI, aka Takuya Sugi, aka Yoshitsune, aka El Blazer, conspired to plant the marijuana in the paintings over a grudge he held against NOSAWA! It seems that NOSAWA was telling people in the industry he believed it was SUGI who had set him up, so fearing police involvement SUGI called a press conference saying that AAA Japanese representative Masahiro Hayashi told him that if he wanted to get back at NOSAWA, he should hide marijuana in the paintings, as it would surely be found upon re-entry to Japan.

Fucked up. This sounds almost like an angle.

It really does feel like Cena is going to go over Bryan for the WWE championship come Summerslam. At least then I can finally give up on WWE again and either move to TNA or give up on wrestlin for a while.

Well yeah, obviously. Carlos Colon has done a great job of totally cleaning up the scene in PR

Yeah, took a while though - any time I read stories of PR in the 70s and 80s it sounds like the most fucked up place. In Hansen's book he talks about why Brody was kinda forced into working PR more regularly, as he jumped ship from All Japan, which was a much more informal, family-style promotion, to the more corporate New Japan, only to suffer at the hands of backstage politics. After leaving New Japan, Brody came back to All Japan on occasion, but it wasn't the same, and Baba wasn't prepared to book him as heavily as he had been in the past, hence Brody having to look for regular work elsewhere, despite knowing the dangers of the PR scene. By all accounts, Brody was such a huge character, but he either did things his way, or not at all, and that affected his long-term bookings all throughout his career.

Hell, now I'm in the mood to watch some classic Stan & Brody matches;

Giant Baba & Jumbo Tsuruta (c) vs Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody - (AJPW 04/20/82)
Jumbo Tsuruta & Genichiro Tenryu vs Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody - (AJPW 12/12/83)
Dory Funk Jr. & Terry Funk vs Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody - (AJPW 12/08/84)

OMFG. OMFG.

Note: I been following the story since i heard about it and I thought Io's Carrer was over... but HOLY shit they should ban SUGI forever for this shit.

Fucking Hornswoggle? Really? That's the big reveal? Fucking Hornswoggle?

Also, I want the names and adresses of everyone that voted YES to Lawler vs. Cole, and I want 'em now. Because that shit was rigged.

Caught up on RAW, criminally slim on quality wrestling this week.

- Holy fuck, this AJ segment is brutal. MAKE IT STOP!
- Anonymous GM? Lol, tying up those lose ends.
- Swagger deserves better.
- Seriously, FUCK WWE's double standards. Just because Swagger is technically a heel does NOT make it OK for your anti-bullying poster-boy Sheamus to attack him, without provocation, once the match has finished.
- Same goes for King and his bullshit. Vickie's perfume "smells like marinade". You suck, old man.
- Noooooooooooooo, please not more Cole vs King shit. Oh, FFS.
- Ugh, Funkasaurus. 35 minutes in, and not one match worth watching.
- John Cena is in preacher-mode for this promo, testify!
- Not a bad tag match, but random teams.
- Awesome hop-up armdrag from Sin Cara. Slater is good at making people look great. Not Dolph good, but still pretty good.
- OK, fuck this crowd. ZERO reaction for Bob Backlund.
- Man, Backlund is still in crazy great shape. Good to see Slater selling the chickenwing like death.
- Oh, fuck you WWE universe. 75% want to see Cole vs King, on a show that's had NOTHING but throwaway matches.
- Booker & Matthews, a superior commentary team.
- Cole vs King was blessedly short.
- HORNSWAGGLE? Oh dear.
- Eve's offence doesn't look great, but AJ's doing a good job of selling it.
- Yeah, I'm done with this storyline. I JUST WANT A GOOD PUNK vs BRYAN MATCH WITH NO FUCKING BULLSHIT.

Cannot believe how much I actually like TNA now, especially compared to what WWE is pumping out.

I have a casual fan friend who never watches TNA that asked me on Sunday who Austin Aries was because he heard he was awesome. Now is TNA's time to shine.

Nah, I'd wager they had the writers bring in their kids to work and write this Raw. It's really the only way you could explain this show.

Pretty mental turn of events there.

At least NOSAWA was right when he told the police they got the Rongai.

Show of hands, who is looking forward to Jericho vs. Cena vs. Big Show vs. Kane?

Anyone? Soulplaya? Anyone??

Badum-tish, genuine lols. That was a pun worthy of the front page of the Sun.

Nope, looking forward to the other MitB match far more - mainly because there's a sense of unpredictability there. The RAW MitB could be a good match though, and I'm fully expecting Jericho to take a huge bump getting KO'd off the ladder by Big Shoe.

Just endured Raw, what an absolutely awful, disgraceful, sickening, twisted, perverse, boring, insulting, depressing, hideous and miserable train wreck.

The Bellas leaving WWE was the best thing to happen to us, the Internet folk.

As for Raw:

From the 30 minutes or so I saw of the show, it was squash matches and an AJ segment that made more sense on MADtv or SNL. Who taught her how to cut a promo, Orton?
