You know what's funny? It would serve as a great new way to install the next big "scary guy" and give him legitimacy for the next twenty years. However, they've built no one up to be that credible guy, and don't look to be doing so, either.
Cole would call him silly names, or Cena would. Whichever comes first.

Remember back in 1998 when Kane debuted, Vince, JR, and Lawler were putting him over as a monster. Now if it happened, Cole and Lawler would be whispering in his debut, and two weeks later telling him Halloween's over and to stop looking like a goof.

they think she's too young =(
WWE, or Vince, had Kelly Kelly stripping on ECW when she first began (just 20)

Late to the party but
WOW at how cena won

it was like he didnt even want the case but wanted to stop big show and the case just fell in his hands.

Also since when has santio got vertigo.

So now that I can go back to cheering for CM Punk again, its just in time to see him fed to Cena, oh joy.

I hated how during the title match we'd keep missing spots too cause they just HAD TO CUT AWAY AND SHOW AJ'S F**KING ANIME EYES like it was building to something then nope.

I'm happy for Dolph, but I really think Sheamus is still gonna beat him. I'm gonna suffer WM anger again. :(

Aiii

So not worth it
According to the Wrestling Soup (Podcast) John Cena is the record holder for percentage wise PPV win percentages. He's won 62% of all his PPV matches.

Aiii

So not worth it
Remember, this is for all his matches for the past 10 years. I'm sure if you only look at the latter portion of it the percentage is much higher.

I swear if Punk comes out tomorrow, shakes hands and tells us how much he respects Cena etc I'll f**king scream.

That plus cena declaring the match in advance for 1000th raw with him cutting one of his classic this means X for you but more for me , you wrestle for X i wrestle for 100 X , and if you win you just keep the belt if i win the X will happen promo it will make my day.

I'm most scared they're incorperating Cena into the AJ/Punk/Bryan program. Or worse, remove Bryan from the program and replace him with Cena.

If Cena ruins AJ for me I swear to God I'm quitting!

Guys I just got the script for the 1000th Raw.

Rock comes out: "John Cena, I challenge you for the WWE championship!" (he has no idea Cena doesn't have it or who actually has it).

Cena comes out: "Sure thing Rock, wait a sec brb....."

Punk comes out and loses.

Cena: "Ok, good to go."

*Rock looks puzzled for a seconds then shrugs*

*crowd cheers as the bell rings for Cena vs Rock 2 - NEVER BEFORE NEVER AGAIN, touts or whatever the f**k they are come in deeming this their favorite moment in Raw's history*

Conrad Link: "Sigh."

Woops forgot to add the most important part of how all my scripts always end.

*20 years later Daniel Bryan marries one of HHH's daughters and gets a push*

you guys really need to learn to turn off before the Cena match.

This post marriage Cena will over come anything in its path and will have that goofy smile on his face while doing it.

Also when was the last time the WWE title main evented a PPV?

TLC last year?

Not only that he was laughing like a school girl with big show while hitting him with the case

So any word on whats on tonights RAW?

I expect less than nothing given the fact its a post PPV show but I'd like to think they actually try to get people tuned in for next weeks ep or something.

Either way I'm content after last night. Pretty good show (even if Cena won) and the Miz is back! Heck yeah!

I'll tell you what's on it. 20 MINUTES OF JOHN CENA EXPLAINING HOW HE HAS OVERCOME THE ODDS AND WON THE MONEY IN THE BANK PAY-PER-VIEW!

Tomorrows Raw will simply be known as: The one before the 1000th show.

Can't wait. :|

Constant promos and match set ups for next week all night, atmosphere ringside will be crazy - AND THE CROWD GOES HOME!

Poor guys.

I just saw a 10 year old kid walkby with a Cena backpack on right after reading this post. Its a good thing he was only 10 or so otherwise I wouldn't have been a star.

The problem is, this is the company the opposers of Cena are in:
clipboard01tgp.jpg

I mean really, you can't win here.

I have decided to be indifferent to Cena from here on out.

From here on out the chant shall be:
LETS GO CE-NA! CE-NA SUCKS! WHO CARES ABOUT CE-NA!

Regardless of the lack of story-line progression, and a largely pointless AJ ref bump, CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan was excellent. I really enjoyed the middle third of the match, and the great back and forth they had over use of the kendo stick, and while, yes, CM Punk was in superman mode, Bryan controlled the majority of the match, dealing out a lot of big moves and some brutal looking strikes that Punk sold really well throughout. But Bryan took his fair share of punishment also and although he ultimately lost, Punk gave him a lot here and made him look really very strong as a result. I'd like to hope that WWE have the sense to capitalise on that - Bryan is easily the challenger that has come closest to ending Punk's reign, and as it seems this series of matches between the two isn't over, having Bryan be the one to beat Punk could be the difference between him being seen as the sort of truly threatening, dominant and competent heel WWE often lacks, or the usual run-of-the-mill heel WWE has in spades, alternating between being ruthless, or a bumbling figure of fun, depending on the storyline that month.

The best part about the WWE Title match is that they actually managed to give everyone what they wanted.

The wrestling purist were all like "oh my god, AJ in this match means they won't have a good match and it'll all be about AJ!" Which of course, it wasn't, because they did the AJ bump and gave them most of the match on their own.
The entertainment people still got their storyline, and even better, since it didn't end it'll go on for a bit longer. Here's hoping for that Iron Man Match at SummerSlam!

Then of course there's the "everything sucks" guys who are impossible to please, so really, fuck 'em.

OK, Ambrose vs Regal is really good (duh), just a great technical match with some awesome story-telling, they really sell Ambrose as a dangerous individual, and man, I love JR & Dusty on commentary. They sound so natural, nothing's forced. JR's always coming out with great lines and observations; "part Roddy Piper, part Jake Roberts, all Dean Ambrose", "some men break in the face of adversity, others achieve. Tonight, will Dean Ambrose break, or will he achieve?", and both guys do such a great job of putting all the competitors over. Gotta love Dusty's inability to call Regal anything other than 'Steven' though, lol.

I wouldn't go to that far to say it gave everyone what they wanted. It's been what, 3 or 4 PPVs now where this AJ storyline has had literally no payoff or a build to a payoff, and AJ has literally affected 0 outcomes of any DB/Punk match so far since they started feuding despite everyone fawning over "WHOSE SIDE IS SHE ON/THIS WOMAN IS CRAZY/CM PUNK DIGS CRAZY CHICKS".

That's not to say that Bryan/Punk shouldn't keep fighting. Given that they keep stealing the show at most of this year's PPVs I am hoping this AJ shit ends at Summerslam and they keep their focus on the WWE title and not on a woman who has had 0 influence on how any match has turned out between them

Please give us Punk vs Rock at Summerslam.

Just whatever you do, DON'T do another Cena vs Rock. DVD says "once in a lifetime" for a reason so please please don't do it again.

Seriously though, I understand where you're coming from, but you can't possibly build a feud that lasts longer then month just over the title. And even then, I'd argue it's still in it's core about Bryan desperatly wanting the gold, even so far as to marry a woman he gives two shits about to get it.

you guys really need to learn to turn off before the Cena match.

This post marriage Cena will over come anything in its path and will have that goofy smile on his face while doing it.

Also when was the last time the WWE title main evented a PPV?

TLC last year?

Yes. I posted this earlier in the thread during the PPV once it was clear Punk wasn't main eventing, but, including the PPV he won the title in, Punk's reign has spanned 9 PPVs.

Only 1 of those 9 PPVs has he main evented: TLC 2011, which was his first title defense, and, COINCIDENTALLY, the only PPV in like the last 6 years that didn't have Cena on the card.

So not worth it
- At 5PM EST Sunday (3 hours before Money-In-The-Bank Pay-Per-View went live), CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan was penned in to close the show. WWE changed things at the very last minute with the RAW Money-In-The-Bank match.

I'm actually pleased that they did this. I was happy when I saw the title match going on before the MITB match. I know I would've just spend the entire match dreading the end where Cena would come out and cash in the briefcase if they didn't reverse the order.

Well, I mean, it's all in the booking. Commentary didn't really mention (although they should to give this angle some serious weight) how he's going to pull out all the stops in trying to get the title by planning to marry AJ, although it would really put over the title as a big fucking deal (as it should be).

It's not doing this feud any favors if AJ is the main focus and she does not influence the outcomes of these matches in ANY way whatsoever though.

Please give us Punk vs Rock at Summerslam.

Just whatever you do, DON'T do another Cena vs Rock. DVD says "once in a lifetime" for a reason so please please don't do it again.

But Cena has to have a rematch and win, because that will stop any booing if he wins and has Rock raise his arm after the match and tell us how great Cena is.

While I agree that is what would probably happen, it just makes more sense to have the MITB matches before the title matches.

Listen, Commentary isn't gonna do jack-shit in putting anything over. Not the moves, not the wrestling, not the show, not the midcard and definitely not the titles as long as Cena doesn't hold them. If you're banking on that, might as well give up now.

Now, aside from that. I agree, if the feud ends here, not doing the pay-off yesterday was a load of crap, if the feud continues, it will pay-off at SummerSlam.

Worst case scenario really is Punk moving on to Cena and the pay-off being that AJ goes back to Bryan without question on Raw tonight. I'll jump on that bandwagon when we get there though.

Come to think of it, that is where they're heading by choosing the non-screwjob ending last night and having Punk beat Bryan clean isn't it?

Okay, fuck me, I'm back on the WE HATE WWE bandwagon.

I'm thinking, maybe to cut costs they replaced the production crew with a trained monkey. And this monkey is trained to only cut the live PPV feed after he hears John Cena's theme music, else he doesn't get the banana prize from Vince.

Yes, this must be it.

That's cool that they're covering the Punk/Albright feud in OVW on that Blu-Ray. Some great matches and incredible Paul Heyman booking during that era.

That feud really rivaled anything ECW ever did.

  • Corey Graves & Jake Carter (c) vs Mike Dalton & CJ Parker
  • Paige vs Audrey Marie - No DQ
  • Dean Ambrose vs William Regal

Dusty & JR on commentary.

So surely Ambrose's time in FCW is nearly over? They seem to be on the cusp of the blow-off match between him and Regal, which they've been building for a year, and I can't see him staying once that feud has ended. Unless that was the blow-off match, anyway, I just expected a clean finish. Seems like they're not planning to use Ambrose on NXT so far, so straight to the WWE roster?

I thought FCW TV was just about done, anyway? Aren't they putting together a new development territory?
