El Rey is a pretty dope network. When I had Sling I enjoyed it. A lot. They were always playing something good.

Don't they already put up all of their matches on Youtube? Yeah that doesn't include segments but the gifs more than make up for it
 
The little bit of editing talk at the end of the LU Stone Cold podcast was really interesting, where they record English then Spanish for every section, and the editors just sort it out. Unreal.

I really want Pentagon Jr's Master to be something weird, like it is Vampiro humself (as opposed to the Ian personality) or it is Matt Striker, or worst case it is Conan

They keep hyping up Ultima Lucha, but they never say when it is. Is it this month or is it next month?

Also I never noticed that Pentagon Jr. always wears his shirt in his matches. I originally thought he had a full body ring gear but just noticed lately that it was just a shirt.

Vampiro will forever be known as the guy that Sting didn't put over. Dude was made into a goof the whole time he was feuding with the Stinger.

WCW was planning to make him one of their next big stars in 2001. Really wish I could have seen how that panned out.

Vampiro/Sting in my eyes was kind of mistake because they looked so similar at the time. I'm not a fan of that.

Well he did light "Sting" on fire and "Sting" dove from the top of the scaffolding into a bunch of crash pads.

I think putting him with the ICP did more harm.

The master deal has already been shot - and you're not really wrong. I basically said this in the LU recap - there's a reason they're using the Ian name and Vampiro name, and that will come out soon-ish probably. Also, it's "Konnan" although Melissa Santos rarely says it right.

Exactly, in the US he was gimmicked with ICP and with the Misfits and that is what most remember him for,
If you knew him from the indies though and mexican leagues even things like WSX you would have a better understanding
 
Vampiro was already a star in WCW before he feuded with Sting. He was THE most over new guy they had whether you liked his wrestling or not. Then Steve, the politician, refused to put him over and that was the end of that.

Not only did Sting refuse to put him over, but he NEVER let Vampiro look good. Vampiro got jobbed out by Sting with a bat, Vampiro got jobbed out trying to fight Sting after Sting had a match. Vampiro dumped THE RED LIQUID on Sting and Sting just became more of a Hogan super figure and jobbed all the New Blood out.

Steve Borden sucks dicks is what I'm saying. The only people he put over were people he didn't have a choice in because they were higher on the pole than him. Fucking even Hogan let Kidman, The Giant, and Triple H pin him.

That's the kind of employee Triple H is building towards with NXT and all the indoctrination. He wants everyone who works for him to be a mark for the company and a mark for wrestling. You get that and you get people like Daniel Bryan who are willing to do whatever they're asked whenever they're asked without asking for a pay raise or time off.
 
More Tough Enough stuff

According to The Wrestling Observer, USA Network officials feel pro wrestling’s popularity is cycling downward, which is contributing to the somewhat lack of viewership interest in WWE Tough Enough.

Furthermore, the network dislikes the partially taped and partially live format of Tough Enough, as it doen’t give the judges enough time to make fair critiques, and fans are only given minutes to vote on contestants as opposed to a whole night or several days.

With regards to the show’s host, USA officials liked the dynamic presence and charisma that Steve Austin brought to the show, but feel Chris Jericho comes off more like a game show host than a reality show host. There is said to be no heat on Jericho, however, as officials fault the format of the show and not Jericho.

Another factor that concerns USA officials is that past winners of Tough Enough, such as Andy Leavine and Daniel Puder, were promised WWE contracts when they won the competition, but were released from their deals very quickly after the show was over and they amounted to nothing in WWE. Some USA officials believe this makes the show meaningless so the fans in turn don’t care who wins.
