I didn't know about LADYBABY until...... today.

I don't know if Japan has gone too far, or if it has reached the pinnacle of greatness.

Aiii

So not worth it
Ladybaby is just a cheap Babymetal rip-off/spoof. It's funny, until you realize one of the girls is 14-year-old gravure idol.

This seems important

USA are sinking, they use WWE to hold themselves afloat. USA are relying too much on WWE.

You'll see a new focus on people who are Internet tastemakers, this is happening everywhere.

While the Raw rating wasn't anywhere near as bad as many were predicting, it was also extremely telling. The WWE has apparently long lost the remaining crossover fans they had with the NBA and NHL

Advertising everywhere is changing.

You don't run a company the size of WWE off Youtube money. You don't run a fraction of the WWE off Youtube money. The model doesn't swing that fast over to Youtube in time to save WWE.

They gotta start thinking real hard about what they want to do to replace the inevitable drop in TV money.

I never said they did, this isn't WWE's problem, this is USA's.

Let's say USA drop WWE. They pay WWE "approximately $127 million" this year.

WWE Network has 1.22 million subscribers at last count.

Put Raw and Smackdown on the Network, and charge an extra $5. Assuming you don't lose anyone (of course you would, I'm Devil's Advocating here).

That's seventy-three million two hundred thousand dollars a year. Could you do Raw and Smackdown for that?

Alternatively, charge an extra 8.67, and you make 127 million dollars.

Could WWE survive without traditional TV?

Or network television in general. It's a scary time to be a TV exec I think.

In other news Cornette's rant on The Match was pitch perfect, even referring to Korakuen Hall as a "small time venue" and comparing The Match to DK vs Tiger Mask in the 80s...which happened many a time in Korakuen. This apart from his usual shtick about it not being a fight (headbutt spot, striking spots), no-one to cheer for (despite it being Ospreay's first big win in the whole tourny and indeed, whole promotion)

Just an incredible mind for making people really mad. I applaud him. People are falling over themselves to blast him right now. Gotta respect the gimmick.

I don't believe they could anywhere near the level they are at, or have been historically. Having it on TV provides a lot of new viewers. The amount that a business can die without.

Viewers drop out, no new viewers come in (because you don't add subs without mainstream exposure) and that 1.22 million subs will quickly dwindle to zero month by month.

So no, they need a "free" program somewhere. That, however, doesn't necessarily have to be traditional TV anymore.

I've got ringside tickets for this little beauty of a match here (Ward has a fantastic aura about him for those who haven't seen him, perfect modern day fighting Irishman gimmick).

no way the WWE would be able to survive without TV.

The money and promotion for the product is key.

Going to the ROH show tomorrow in St. Louis. Delirious text me yesterday, I asked him when Cody is debuting.

Today is the birthday of one of the greatest wrestlers in the world today: AJ Styles. Also celebrating a birthday Velvet Sky...and oh yeah...me.

Apparently me and Velvet were born on the same exact day in the same year. I don't think she looks 35.

Oh well. Off to work.

of course the generation x would be their biggest audience

happy to see wwe struggling. I hope they get fucked on their next TV deal and actually feel some legit heat and a need to make some real changes.

or the company just dies. that would be cool too.

I once did a piece of market research for a college assignment specifically by creating a survey relating to MMA as a maths geek I find it interesting to pore over and analyse these numbers.

USA needs WWE more than WWE needs USA.

Could you imagine WWE solely on Netflix or Hulu?

What do you all think making WWE Network's Live channel free to all would do? I think it would be a good idea, but they'd need people working on the programming a lot harder than they do now.

And to stop showing Legends House ever.

Seth did his job. He left to make Roman look strong.

Good callback, funny podcast

Now watching KENTA vs Yoshinobu Kanemaru - GHC Lightheavyweight Championship fronlm Destiny's 2005.

Great match, they better treat KENTA right in NXT.

I think the June 6th 2003 NOAH show as being one of their total best. If you get a chance have a look for it, you won't be sorry.

2003, a truly horrific WWE year yet everywhere else in the wrestling world it was glorious.
