Anyone know if you get the replay with the live ippv purchase for the smart mark stuff? I just got home and want to watch the rest of this but I'd like to watch the whole thing eventually.

The inherent problem with matches like this, the action has to take place in the ring but they eventually have to move out to whatever they're putting their opponent into.

And wow, they really need some lighting in there.

they'll put the event up in a day or two and you'll be able to watch what you've missed.

This is where Chikara needs a titan tron:

Best casket match ever.

CHIKARA lost me at the BDK stuff and before that, I felt like a lot of the shows were basically training shows and people cut CHIKARA a lot more slack and they would any other indie promotion. Like, if PWG had half a card that was the same as the random CHIKARA show, people would be shitting all over it.

Granted, I haven't watched one of their shows in probably 2 years at least now, so I might be far off on my assessment of their shows of today. However, Bret vs Bulldog in 1995 among the best matches of the 90s. So much more brutal, stiff, and bloody than what the WWF had been doing since the height of Hulkamania. Even the shithead ECW fans couldn't hate on it at all. And this was on the same show as the Hog Pen Match. The only thing I'd change about it is have less dual screens with Diana's reactions.

Was that the one where Jericho suggested the finish to Bret? I can't remember which one he was referring to but I think he said 1995.

Anyway, here's an awesome match:
Kenta Kobashi vs Jun Akiyama (10 July 2004) [English Commentary]

It's so weird watching a match where the commentators actually add to it. They put WWE and TNA to shame.

That match was awesome. Could have cut it down a little but the ending more then made up for and slow spots. Great brawl with a few brutal spots.

I don't know. It's the match where Bret allegedly got busted open LEGIT (but he actually bladed and lied to Vince) and had blood just everywhere. They don't hold back at all. It's great. As is HBK vs Nash in Nash's last PPV match before jumping to WCW. The next match up is Mankind vs HBK, which is also awesome and gritty and brutal. It's pretty weird how WWF 1995/1996 was capable of doing big time ECW styled matches better than ECW could.

The first disc of this set has so far been pretty great. Bret vs Hakushi, HBK vs Jarrett (highly recommend), Razor vs Dean Douglas (pretty good), HBK vs Nash (awesome), Bret vs Bulldog (awesome), HBK vs Mankind (awesome). Hog Pen Match is there for lols I guess.

Crowd was on fire for everything. Signs everywhere. Every chant was loud. It feels right.

The first thing I noticed was the crowd to open the show. It's a random Smackdown in August and the show opens on fire. That opening spot is classic Rock and HBK. I couldn't help but laugh when his music hits.

Tag division at the time was great and I miss the hardcore division.

I think that user has a couple classic Attitude era shows uploaded. I will look for a Raw to post.

It's like the darkness spread to take over an entire corner of the ring now......Chikara will be consumed by darkness by the end of the show.

Is Sabato's picture supposed to be a reference to anything? It's flown over my head.

These are the faces behind the names of The Titor Conglomerate, the company that "owns" CHIKARA. Sabato was about to drop the dirt on them before he was escorted from the ring.

Lol at Stone Cold cutting a pre match promo and ending it with something like "and all the people complaining about my language can kiss my ass" and Vince's disgusted reaction to it. This is one of WWE's best sets so far. Just the best stuff from the transition era into full blast Attitude Era. HHH vs Stone Cold in 1996, both as heels, HHH barely starting to adopt more Triple H stuff, and Stone Cold in his Stone Cold prime. And trying to out heel each other.

Heel vs heel matches are always more fun than face vs face.

I love that Icarus is dressed like Marty Jannetty (Man, that outfit is comical as fuck) but Icarus looks so dumb. He looks like a massive sleazeball. A completely unlikable look.

And Icarus is a cool name. Wasted on this goof.

Are people cheering Icarus?

The BFtTF ruined everything.
