I have one more question. How heavy is the box that contains the console. I may have to carry it on a bus or two tomorrow. I am also not that strong.
4.5 kg
edit:...or 6.5 kg. I'm not sure anymore, i had to weigh it two weeks ago for shipment.

Not according to Digital Foundry.
Reading this eases me a bit, lol. I thought I was some kind of mutant freak from another planet or something because I absolutely love the gamepad, while apparently its largely been panned and is the first thing everyone seems to want dropped from the system. At the very least, I'm hoping the WiiU can do "decent enough" to make it last this gen. :-(
I love the gamepad too. It's almost everything I wanted from a VMU successor. Nintendo needs to emphasize its usefulness in games more and not just use it as an off-tv device.Reading this eases me a bit, lol. every version except the ps4 runs like shit anyway. might as well get off tv play. i had ps360/pc to choose from and i chose the wii u for that reason

Praise the DF overlords lol. If you live and die by their judgment then I guess that's fair.
I got NSMBU/LU and Tekken! I'm a broke college student, though. I got a $25 gift card with it, but I'm waiting on a good sale to use it on another game.
I love this Wii U gamepad! It's just so cool, and it feels nice! Miiverse is fun, too. I downloaded the ZombiU demo, and that game is incredible! I definitely want to buy that game eventually!
My NNID is...you guessed it: kidtamagotchi

Van Owen: "Stop enjoying things I don't like."
Not really. I'm just saying you could have a better experience playing those games on an older, cheaper system.
If you like playing them on Wii U, great. Unfortunately poor versions of multiplatform titles on a more expensive system aren't going to have much appeal, as the market has decided.
I'd rather play on 360 than on the gamepad since the Wii U version runs at a consistently lower framerate, but maybe I'm crazy.
my point is, if i was worried about frame rate i wouldnt play it at all. even the ps4 or pc version. 30 with drops into 20 feels just as bad as 24 with drops to 18, imo
PS4 version is locked at 30.

and 30 is not 60, and the pc version by all accounts is a trainwreck
I agree. The PS4 version is the sweet spot in terms of playability and price entry.
I doubt you would go into Need for Speed: Most Wanted threads telling people to buy the Wii U (version), or Rayman Legends for example. Not really. I'm just saying you could have a better experience playing those games on an older, cheaper system.

Your opinion about the Wii U is well known going by your post history, stop pretending "I just want the best experience for you" at least.
Edit: But whatever, don't want to start an off-topic discussion.
Honestly I think the gamepad fills a need for the small amount of the market. I'm sure there are some people that have to share a TV with someone, but I think it's a relatively small number.
I have one main tv in the house that I share with wife and kid. But I like the gamepad for more reasons than just off tv....
I'm planning on buying the WiiU version of AC4 with some after Christmas money for a couple of reasons.
First is for off TV play. I have two TV's, but they are often both taken by my wife and stepson so being able to play offscreen is huge.
Second, I want to support what limited third party development there is for the WiiU. I could purchase the PS3 version, but the overall differences are minor enough that I can live with a slightly worse (but still bad on either system) framerate.
Beat the main game, unlocked star world. Curious how much more I'll go. I've done a lot most of all the stars.. but I really don't wanna do the flag pole crap...
Well, if you're trying to decide which version of multiplat games to buy, they're a pretty reliable source.
I mean, if you only have a WiiU, whatever. But if you have...pretty much anything else that has an AC4 release on it, you're pretty much better off going with that. If I remember correctly, the only one that was markedly worse than the WiiU version was the 360 version.

At long last I pulled the trigger and bought the Mario Wii U bundle from Gamestop online. Should be arrive at my house soon today. Hopefully I don't regret my purchase but I'm looking forward to it
Once you get it, go return/trade/sell Mario U and pick up 3D World instead.
Just a suggestion...
NSMBU is the best of the New series. Period. Is Mario U that bad to the point where I shouldn't waste my time or is 3D World just that good?

I second this - it's the only one of the series that's grabbed me like the NES/SNES platformers.
3D World is on another level though.
Is it really? I sort of wrote it off because the impressions I got were that it was worse (except for being in HD). I remember hearing it called uninspired, and also that the music wasn't good.NSMBU is the best of the New series. Period.

It's not a bad game but at all, but yeah....3D World is just that good =P
While I agree with you to some extent, NSMBU and Luigi U are still great and should be held on to.

Sorry if I sound dumb here, but I honestly don't know much about this stuff.
1. If the Wii U's CPU kinda holds up with 360/PS3 despite the PS3/360's CPU being 3.2Ghz vs Wii U's 1.2Ghz, would the CPU be better than 360/PS3's if it was also clocked at 3.2Ghz? Or would it not make a difference?
2. Would overclocking the Wii U's CPU to I dunno like 1.7-1.9Ghz make a difference on games?
3. Could that even be done? Would overheating be an issue at those clock speeds?
Just wondering if that should be something Nintendo should seriously consider doing.
