I should've did a manual recording, because after I got up, I started scaling the mountain. As I was doing this, the soldier who was in the car's body rolled right past me :lol

As long as there aren't stupid stuff in the missions that make you keep retrying it, it seems like I'll be able to enjoy them. The world itself certainly looks like it will be able to keep them interesting. Totally looking forward to getting it this weekend!

You'll occasionally have to retry stuff, at least in my experience, but it's never too frustrating.
Also, theres always a lot of missions available so when I'm having a hard with one I just abort and try something else, like another mission or driving a bus off a cliff.

If we do that, it shouldn't be based on length. We would be rewarding people for hitting a rock and slowing their tumble. I want to see Rico go flying down a mountain at sixty miles per hour and stand up at the end, as if to say, "I'm Rico MOTHERFUCKING Rodriguez, bitches."

I was sort of joking at first but maybe this would be a good contest.
This is one of my older videos but it's a good tumble, in my opinion, because it ends with Rico's face smacking into a tree. Ouch.

OK, I'm still playing the Demo... fucking 30 minutes!!!! I play again and again and again!!!

Some questions. Does destruting special objectives have an impact on the game or story?

When I destroy one of those taaaaaaaaaaaaaall antenaes, it gives a message with something like "Communications of army is reduced". Or when I kill a general it says "Morale of soldiers decreased".

It affects something or they're just text?

Doesn't affect the story, I dunno about if it affects how many guards there are or whatever.

Unless someone else can shed some light on this topic, as far as I can tell it's just text.

I don't notice any benefits of 'lower morale' or 'communications disrupted'.

:lol yeah, pretty much. I played through my first time on Hard mode, and wanted to get through the story so that I could go back and play on Easy to mess around.

I found out that if you use extraction to get to the base after you've discovered it, the giant plane will be taking off everytime you get there.
I'm trying to get in the smaller jet and catch it, but I haven't been able to get there fast enough.. :p

I had to watch it a few times to understand what happened. But from what I can tell you shot your grapple at the plane, and then attached it to the hood of your jet... Which is why it went crazy before you hopped back in and fully closed it.

Man, I can't get over how big the world in this game is. No other console game I can think of comes close. Flying that little jet thing is awesome :D

Does anyone know why the 8002D023 error pops up?
Sometimes when I'm trying to upload a video, it will pop up..
And to make things worse, when I try to transfer it to my HDD, it won't even let me do that. The game crashes. :(
I just had a pretty funny video, too.
I was crouching on a hill next to a bunch of guards, after reducing my heat by hiding in the water.
They all started to get on their bikes, and into their cars to leave.. when all of a sudden, the one car that was there drove straight into the water :lol
Right after that, a guy jumped on a bike and drove into the water too.. I don't know why the enemies act so stupid when I'm playing :lol
I wish I could've recorded that :/

Edit: Never mind, found out why.
The "Record Last 30 Seconds" feature causes the error to happen.

1- Start the game
2- Pause > Video Capture > Enable 30 seconds save option
3- Play
4- Pause > Video Capture > Upload last 30 seconds to YouTube
5- Discard video when upload completed
6- Get back in game
7- Play
8- Pause > Video Capture > Upload last 30 seconds to YouTube
9- Notice the error code: 8002D023 from the XMB

**AND / OR
...
8- Pause > Video Capture > "Start New Capture"
9- Unpause
10- Pause > Video Capture >
11- Notice "Stop Capture" is not there (no capture being recorded even though "Start New Capture" has been previously selected.


//Workaround

-Disabling the 30 seconds autosave feature will prevent bug from happening.
-If I absolutely want to play with this feature, once a video has been uploaded to YouTube, I have to quit the game and restart it in order to be able to save/upload a second 30 seconds video, or to start a new capture (10 minutes limit). Sometimes I have to quit / restart the game twice in order to "fix" it.

I had the "AND/OR" part happen to me. :p
So I guess I'm gonna have to disable that feature, until/if they fix it.

Heh, I tried to drag a tank behind that plane... didn't work out so well. I think it got stuck on a tree as I was taking off, so I almost didn't make it, but then once the tank went airborne it dragged the plane's tail down so much that I had to let it go. :( I'll have to try it with a smaller vehicle next time.

I started this game yesterday and I'm loving it! great game, love the destructive environments.

But sometimes it takes a loooooooooooooong time to go from one mission to another, is there any way to teleport from one part of the map to another?

I think you have to do one or two missions to unlock it but the black arms dealer will be able to fast travel/extract you to any location that you have discovered for a little cash money.
It helps a lot for getting to those far away missions.

Thanks, yeah, I saw a popup saying that the ability to jump locations was unlocked, but I couldn't figure how to use it, I didn't know I had to call the arms dealer.

Nice, I've only pulled that off a couple times.
This one went pretty well aside from the fact that I was stuck going backward for half the ride.

I knew there was a big-ass cargo jet in this game!

I remember one time I was taking off from an airport, looking behind the aircraft to see if the enemies were still after me, then when I go to look a head I see a giant cargo jet take off right over me. I was freaked out. I never saw it again until you posted those pictures.

It's pretty crazy that I've played JC2 for like 20 hours and viewed the hell out of this thread but we're still finding new things.
I guess that's just a testament to how awesome this game is, it truly is the ultimate sandbox game.

The Baby Panay must be made of some kind of otherworldly bouncy substance, it seems like Rico always goes flying when he touches it.

For those with the PC version, how does the final game run? I plan on getting JC2 in a few days, but I cant decide if I should go for PS3 or PC.

The demo seems to run ok on my machine (HD4770, E6400 @ 2.4ghz, 4GB) but ive been burned in the past with final products not running as good as the demo. :p



And reading this thread has made me jealous of all the cool videos you guys have posted :lol

I don't have nice gaming PC but from what I've heard the game runs great on it, if the demo runs fine you should be set. Brain Stew is like the master of PC gaming, he made THIS tweak guide to help you run it optimally.. Like with most games, if it runs on your PC then it's your best choice.

It'll run around 3x faster than the PS3 version on that rig at the same settings, you'll pay less and get all the lovely mods, so um, yeah, no decision to be made really. Its one of the best optimised games released in ages.

Your performance really shouldn't just be "OK" though, have a look at my tweak guide, you may be using some settings that aren't quite optimal. The PS3 version is the equivalent of low/medium PC settings (if that) fwiw.

This game is incredible. Got PS3 copy on Thursday and double dipped today and picked up PC copy... So much fun. YouTube feature is a stroke of genius on the developers part, this game sells itself. :D

Yeah I hope some other studios see this and add youtube uploads to their games as well, it's such an awesome feature. It really would be great for pretty much any game, I hope JC2 does well just to show other developers that it's worth the effort to add it. Also, I hope that there will be some sort of similar feature for 360 gamers, even if it's not youtube they should at least be able to upload videos to justcause.com or something like that. It's kind of unfair...
