So who has got the Invincible Warrior trophy/achievement?
You have to kill 50 enemies in a row with inventory weapons without losing health.
All I can think of is sniping from a skyscraper but killing 50 guards will not be easy.

I want to platinum this but playing it again on hardcore might be too time consuming, I'm just staying focused on 100%ing everything even though I'm only @ 33% after 33 hours or so. I do fuckin love this game though, I've played it pretty much every night since released. It's just so jammed pack full of fun that I can't play any other game without ejecting it and popping in JC2 after 20 minutes or so. Last night I tried taking the motorboat down the waterfall at the casino but I guess it's not real water so Rico glitched out and went tumbling down the waterfall.

Anyone looking for this, there is an incredibly easy way, albeit a little slow and repetitive.

I got sick of getting in to the 40's and then some asshole with a shotty makes me ragequit and have to start over. Found this on YT and worked first time. Enjoy.

Easy Invincible Warrior trophy/achievement

Just Cause 2 is the light at the end of the franchise tunnel I've been going down the past month. God of War III and Final Fantasy XIII have worn me down a bit with their running down tubes and endless fighting. Now it is time to free roam and lose the bad guy by going off a wicked jump.

Also:
I just got a motorcycle at the beginning of a mission that was conveniently angled at something I had no idea was going to be a ramp that launched me directly into the path of a mark who was in a limousine 1000 feet below. Fuck yeah Just Cause 2.

Not sure what my percentage is (did some faction missions and a couple main ones) but I can't see myself playing it for much longer.

It's like this huge world full of scenic variety, but everywhere you go boils down to the same thing. Blow up some stuff, hunt around for crates; I feel like that's 90% of my time playing.

You'd think there would be some interesting places and characters all over, but there aren't. Go to the mile high club expecting something special, but it's just another "settlement" to blow a few things up and find a few crates in.

Gunplay isn't satisfying and I don't think the vehicles are even fun to use. The cars and quads from BC2 seem to handle much better than anything in this game.

Game looks killer though.

Yep. The demo got me really excited for the main game but it's just way too repetitive. The shitty gunplay doesn't help either. It's a pity because the world is just so huge and you can sense so much potential there. It's like Assassin's Creed all over again.

It definitely should feel repetitive to me at this point, yet I always feel like playing some more. Huh. 33% in/25hrs or so.

Yup I got all excited once I discovered a Airport.

They totally dropped the ball on air-to-air jet combat. For one thing, as far as I know, enemy fighter jets don't have any combat AI and never attack on any heat level, or even when you attack them from another fighter jet. Then there's the complete lack of lock-on system which makes air combat fickle as hell anyways.

Well if I really was better I would've done better ground runs.

Finished the game on Hardcore just now. 24 hours in, 33%.
Pretty much done with it, felt like I got my money's worth.
Likes:
- graphics are awesome, the varied landscapes, locals, water, vehicles, explosions, etc are all great and make the game feel awesome. It really is the strongest suit of the game, I can't imagine how much time they put into each area
- missions for the most part are fun
- physics are good, saw way too many funny scenarios where AI chasing ran into oncoming traffic (while riding a motorbike.. yikes), ragdoll explosions, etc
- goofy story and terrible voice acting grows on you

Dislikes:
- ammo system is terrible, throughout the game, even at the end you're fighting for ammo, it gets better but there should be some rewards like infinite ammo for the pistol etc after a certain point in the game
- the health system is crushing, make the health respawn slower or something but the system as it stands is terrible, health kits are too far few between
- improve the ease of clearing an area. I wasted too much time trying to find generators and other misc stuff. let me spend my money on a way to find what I'm missing
- cutscenes, esp the black market ones got old VERY quick, the black market system needs to be revamped entirely
- some missions had way too long of travel time, considering the size of the world I don't really want to travel 4+ Kms to get to the first checkpoint. The mission structure should closer match the area you're in. It's not bad but it could be further improved imo.

I had a lot of fun, I hope the game sells well enough for a sequel. They have a winning formula here and there are a lot of places for improvement to make a sequel an insta-buy. Coop would be a killer feature.

man has a game been modded so fast like JC2 before? Awesome.

Yeah, plenty. Unless you're talking about games that didn't have official mod support out of the box, than I don't know, but it's more than likely.

One thing that helped me out... I dunno if this is a bug, but you're allowed to take a small amount of damage as long as you can regen it back to the same level you started at.

I just used a military base with lots of open area (the airports and harbors work well) and found a crate out in the middle to use as cover. The enemies seem to spawn out of sight, so they'd have to run across the open area to reach me, which gave me time to pick them off.

Way to go, Artadius. I have to wait til monday :(

BOLO patch users- can you set it up so you have unlimited tethers but no other advantages, and play through the game/story/missions as normal?

Yes, you can use as many or as few tweaks as you like.

Well the mods started a few days after the demo released, so that's pretty damn quick either way.

One thing that annoys me about this game is that grenade markers look exactly like the arrows that point to your set marker. It can get kind of confusing sometimes.

Yeah I wish they'd made those red or something.

The problem with that invincible warrior vid is i dont think he's playing on Experienced which I am and gives enemies ridiculously good aim

It has support for generic pads as well as the 360 controller. What's the issue?

:D :D :D :D really!! Awesome, my bad then I thought it didn't:D :D :lol

It's actually really good support to, I sometimes play with the pad for vehicles/kb + mouse for on foot and the tooltips on screen always show whatever is the most recent

Wow, I must have had Amnesia or something, because for some reason I totally forgot I had the game. I was playing Halo 3 a lot, and then I noticed my Just Cause 2 case just poking out of my TV stand. I was like "What the hell am I doing?" and I took out Halo 3 and played some Just Cause 2.

I don't understand how I could have forgotten about this beast already. :(

Just Cause 2 PS3 uses dynamic frame buffer, dropping from 720P to 600P when things get heavy.

The drop occurs only when things are in moving, so you won't notice it in a still scene.

This explains the low frame rate in the cut scenes, since the resolution remains unchanged there.

The 360 version is 720P 2 x MSAA

So who has got the Invincible Warrior trophy/achievement?

I got lucky with this one. I was playing and it just randomly popped up. I think a detached gatling gun counts as a inventory weapon because that's the only gun I had been using when the trophy appeared.

Not disagreeing but c'mon. This forum thrives on controversy.

Hey Just Cause devs who are reading this thread, I just came up with the most amazin idea ever.

To top the LOST island, I thought, where could they go in the sequel? The answer: a Jurassic Park-like island where someone tried to start an amusement island of dinosaurs which ended up all kinds of bad. Real dinos comin at ya! YES!

You know it's an awesome idea. :D

Just beat the story mode - 43 hours, 48% complete. Incredibly enjoyable experience, and still looking forward to playing more. One of the most purely fun games I've played in years.

Seriously, though - in Mercenary mode, who the hell thought it was a good idea to have an animated "percent completed" graphic pop up at the bottom of the screen every single time you make even the tiniest bit of progress? It's distracting, obnoxious and totally unnecessary.

Jetpack Brontosaurus says hi. :)

On that note, Just Cause 3 should have Rico in a jetpack. It would have a metric crap ton of fuel, and even if you did run out, you could just spawn a parachute real quick. :D

Yeah, a jetpack would be cool, or a more extensive black market. I want to be able to buy everything! Just being able to parasail would be nice too. The completionist in me is killing my progress, but I'm having so much fun I don't even care! At about 40 hours in and only 40% complete. I'm gonna be at this awhile.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
I just had one of those "holy shit" moments.

Okey so I was raiding a military airfield, and it had one of those big silo's next to it, the one's you need to go underground and set off a console to destroy, so I did that and was climbing back up and as soon as I climbed up the last grappling point there was a jet zooming past me on the runway adjacent (at this point the military heat was level 5 so i assume it was flying to attack me), so in a moment's notice I grappled the speeding jet on the runway and got on top of it.

Also worth mentioning is that the runway seemed to end over a massive clif drop, so in a Goldeneye moment I entered the cockpit just as the plane was about to fall over the edge and gained control whilst it was freefalling and flew off into the sunset.

Needless to say THIS GAME IS EFFING AWESOME

Is anyone else addicted to the races? I get hooked and I'll just do them for an hour. Some of the plane ones can get pretty frustrating though.
