Just Cause: Mobile to feature co-op, series first

Sorry I couldn't resist and it's technically true. Just Cause is one of my favorite series and I want next gen Just Cause 5 to have full campaign drop-in/out co-op more than anything. Here's hoping and sorry again if this got you worked up.

I think there is a mod for 3 to have online coop, I wanted to try that but all my gaming friends hate the game ha.

Fucking OP knew what he was doing!

I was thinking when was the next just cause announced? Then I got mildly excited.

Then I opened the thread..

They have actual CPUs in consoles now for physics.
Yeah I had read an interview with one of the devs where he said it was too hard to do coop on last gen because the Jaguar CPU cores could barely manage the physics caused by one player's chaos and that's why they couldn't really put a 2nd player and have their physics interact with the physics of the first player.

Just Cause 2 was one of my favorite games when it released and I remember it fondly.

Just Cause 3 was one of my favorite games when it released and I remember it fondly.

Just Cause 4 was a fucking disgrace and one of the only games I've outright abandoned.

Just Cause Mobile seems like the appropriate next step for the franchise as it spirals the drain.

Hah I was about to ask if JC4 was patched to be decent.

JC2 is one of my favorite PS3 games and JC3 is MOTS but excellent, I was hyped about JC4 but when it got horrible reviews I forgot about it.

Thought you were baiting with that garbage mobile title.

Anyway, PC can already do multiplayer on JC2/3/4 servers. This would be epic for console

Aren't those just open world sessions where you can just fuck around, I'm talking about actual co-op in the campaign, doing missions and such.

I read co-op and thought. Ok that could be cool. Last game was pretty meh but adding co-op to the over-the-top gameplay and I could see it turn into something cool.

And I got a little bit excited.

Then I saw 'Mobile' and all excitement went away.

Mobile looks like a mod of Renegade Ops, one of my favourite twin-stick shoot em ups of all time, so I have a bit of faith.

But f2p will probably destroy the game, as always, so idk.

Couldnt agree more. What the fuck happend to this series? It was a winning formula?

You have to be a true fucknugget to do what they did to it.

JC2 is one of my alltime favourites and JC4 is literally one of the worst games I've ever played, so I guess my love for this franchise is dead anyway. I got it for free on the Epic Store and still felt offended.

Different team, OG Avalanche was making amazing Mad Max, when Just Cause 4 was developed.

I really liked Just Cause 3 but haven't played 4 yet. Why is it so bad?
It's not. It's indeed quite fun indeed. I guess the rushed launch given to it a lot of bad reputation because graphically was quite raw, well except for the performance, though after some update it's become quite on pair with the 3, even a little better in other aspects. Aside the cutscene. Mostly are prerendered with worse graphic setting at very low resolution and tons aliasing (which doesn't make any sense considered they were the only good part graphically of the third but from my understood engine has been totally revisited to run properly on console). The whole game anyway seems really a low budget production if I can say.

Ah interesting, I have it free now though PS Plus so will check it out.

Maybe some secondary missions are a bit annoying and stupid? but I don't remind if you are forced to play all of them. For example there is some mission structured where you have to launch the vehicles in the water before the time expires. Definitely is the only bad thing I can recall about it.

You know I played alot of JC3 and 4 back to back to figure this out.

JC4 is missing the bases/towns to liberate everywhere, and the story missions that exist are very undercooked.

Since most of what you are used to doing in JC3 isn't there. AND it was the funnest part of the gameplay loop, constantly doing mini missions and saving towns and bases; you felt like a hero and there was giant tower bases to explode.

It's ashame because JC4 is actually a really good game. The physics and tethering has been turned up to 11, the graphics are ramped up, less laggy, likeable characters (just like JC3) , crazy new guns and tech, radio and production design and more cool things to fuck around with, especially the hoverboard and weather.

BUT it's missing the most important and funnest gameplay loop, and suffers MAJORLY compared, because it was so fucking joyous constantly blowing shit up and being the hero. JC4 could have been AMAZING if it was littered with towns and bases to liberate, as well as more inventive missions.
