Suisei no Gargantia 1-3:
Imagine if Waterworld didn't suck, it tied into Isaac Asimov's Foundation saga, it was like they animated Star Ocean: Till the End of Time but it wasn't total shit, and there were mechas. And, well, here it is. Complete with CG water overlaid over 2D animation and 3D mechas. This show more or less singlehandedly erases the disappointment I felt with Rinne no Lagrange in the first episode, and then keeps moving quickly. I guess they only have a single cour planned, hopefully it doesn't all fall apart at the end. Gen Urobuchi hasn't let me down yet!

I don't know if they have enough source material for that many episodes, but I'm sure they could get a full season out of it.
And could you really call it a spin off series if it stars one of the main characters from the regular show?
It would be a spin off series because it would not be based on whatever the source material is. That also means we don't have to worry about not having enough source material.
I would also settle for 452 episodes if 500 is a little too much.
I would also prefer it to be live action.
i'd take that if 150 are Ritsu eps and 150 are Mugi eps. the remaining ones can be shared among the others.
