SNSD's Lingua Franca, B-side of Love&Girls single

I disagree with the top comment. The words lingua franca do not have a catchy ring to them. You would have to consult a fat dictionary to find words with less of a catchy ring to them. Rest of the song is alright though.

QBS (T-ara subunit) japanese release Like a Wind.
Song is a standard ballad.

Is that Soyeon, WTF!? WHY!?

Another alright song. Might like it more if I hear it a few more times, but since it's jpop the chances of me hearing it a few more times is pretty slim.

And yeah, what the hell is up with Soyeon these days? How the hell did Qri become the prettiest T-ara member in a music video?! Did Soyeon put on some weight in her face, or did she get plastic surgery on her nose or cheeks or something. Can't quite pin point it.

Whats My/Your Name sucked. But there's no reason to assume we won't get another Volume Up or Dream Racer. Be positive!

There are reason to assume Gayoon and Hyuna will still be way too skinny though.

For those that may be interested, I think Utada's (mostly Japanese) radio show is starting up in 25 minutes (9AM EST) here.

The stream is on now, but it's not her just yet. I think it'll be 'archived' there afterwards too.

On now. Nevermind 'mostly Japanese', she seems to be saying everything in both English and Japanese. Great!

It's ok, editing is all over the place because of Iron Ha's powers. UFC fans will get a kick out of the guests. Black Myeong is a beast and sexy in black leather.

Yeah, many parts seemed stop-start, resulting in editing trying to piece it all together (didn't know what the hell that thing Kookie was resting/standing on until he got out, and a stationary Commander makes for a boring show). Dong Fury's analysis at the end was spot on. Hope for more flow in Part 2.

Domino plz.

New T-ara is better than Countyside life.

I don't want to be the one crushing your dreams but...

... The girls won't be going for a sexy look this time around - they're expected to go for a more subtle and cuter look.

The comeback date should be decided today and there's rumors stating the comeback should be around the end of the month...

Was surprised to find out that it's a girl behind netizenbuzz. While nothing special, I'd argue she was surprisingly cute. Cute enough to date. Doubt I was the only one that noticed.

1) She's asian
2) She's cute (enough)
3) Only barely dated a guy in high school, possibly a virgin
4) While talkative during the stream, answering a lot of questions and stuff, I got the impression she's pretty unsocial from some of the answers she gave.

Basically a checklist for all the unsocial guys into kpop, at least as far as real attainable women go. I bet a lot of guys watching the stream just started stanning her hard.

So awkward when she kept going into kpop generals on /mu/.

Hype, but I think it is waaaaay too soon. They are only a month removed from their last comeback.

Well, AKP just tweeted the NB admin's full name, it appears that she used to write for them.

They aren't some tiny blog but one of the largest international K-pop sites and going up against a blog run by a single person just because it's gaining more and more visitors each day is incredibly childish.

While it was rather silly to reveal her face, especially since she runs a site like NB where emotions can run pretty high when the negative articles and comments reach the wrong fanbase, I feel like doing this was really petty and unprofessional on AKP's part.

Huh? AKP is run by petty assholes who take EVERYTHING personally. Thats been known for a while. It's literally run by a man child.

They've been known to pull articles if soompi runs a similar article. To refuse to work with groups that have done interviews with soompi in the past. And all that sort of shit.

AKP is the dregs of the kpop scene in terms of being anywhere near professional or mature.

Man, that sounds really bad. I wasn't aware of the stuff going on behind the scenes with the AKP team beyond their substandard "journalism". I only glance through their site for the little bit of K-pop news and updates that get posted every now and then.

It's quite unfortunate that they are the biggest international K-pop site and there isn't much competition offering K-pop news in English.

I don't know if they're the biggest, but there's plenty of competition.

Kpop daily news and soompi being 2. Soompi in particular are much better at what they do.

What a piece of shit. Even retweeted it on AKP's twitter? LOL.

Now that AKP has gone all t-ara on NB, what will CK1 do!

AKP used to be very "dirty" in their articles, almost hating inciting.
It got better, still old habits don't dye.

Didn't knew about that tweet. On another note, AKP site is shit now, after the latest revamp, that place is a mess and I stopped looking at it. Not to mention the forums and poster's migration to Onehallyu.

Yeah, the new site is a disaster. Extremely slow, bloated, and confused.

Before that i would at least go there a few times a week. Now i really can't be bothered.

Hmm yeah, I browse Soompi every now and then too. About AKP... if not the biggest, they are certainly the most popular among international K-pop fans. Let's hope that this changes soon, the new layout isn't doing them any favours either. Just like luso, you and loads of others mentioned, it's really bad and won't even load properly on my phone.

I've never seen stats on it, but i think it's a misconception bread on the basis of AKP being basically run entirely as a forum, and not a news site, that people believe these statements. They just have ll the members patting each other on the back.

I don't participate in their forum cause it's pretty terrible for the most, so i don't know if there have ever been stats posted about it or what not.

Uh yeah, that's a total dick move. You don't put someone's real name out there without permission.

Erin's sister is surprisingly pretty.

Looks like she graduated from the University of New South Wales in Australia. Wonder if she's fluent in English..

That guy is known to be a piece of shit so not surprised.

NB had to have known showing her face like that she was going to be recognized by someone.

What a joke. She even complimented AKP on her stream and wouldn't comment on him or the other writers even when people were fishing for some kind of fan war.

This fandom has become so fucking petty. Childish.

It'd be kind of hard to graduate from any University let alone UNSW without speaking the language...

Everything about k-pop save the artists/music is absolute shit.
Pretty much this. Even the artists is a bit of a stretch for me at the moment (Speaking specifically about the idol scene), but the fanbase is horrid. Doesn't help that it's dominated by young teenagers.

Based on my interactions with foreign students at AU universities.... that's not a requirement at all.

Seriously? Anyone that isn't in the ESL program I've talked to at UQ is perfectly fine with English.

I worked in ESL and saw a lot of people I've taught enter universities here through TESOL scores and dropped out because they just weren't good enough - only the really good speakers are able to make it through to graduation.

Nope.

It should be pointed out, my degree required a lot less "native language" skills than say a random business degree. In IT you can get a long well enough if you can just make out the code / math.

There were also a lot of allowances for foreign language students.

But i remember many getting to the third year subjects and having to do oral presentations in English and struggling to form words, along with stumbling and stalling a lot.

For the most part, they weren't penalised overly harshly for it.

And it wasn't just a "pressure thing". I had to work in groups with these people and most had a very rudimentary, no where near fluent, working knowledge of english.

I also recently finished an IT degree and had the same experience as giri. Some of my group members had very poor conversational English which added an extra degree of difficulty. It was something I got used to because they would always try to pair a local to an international student.

Oh okay yeah that makes sense, I'm in an Arts degree and I guess that requires a lot more language skills since it's almost entirely reading/writing/presenting. Most of the people I knew that dropped out were doing Business degrees as well.

After School's Nana escorted to the hospital after falling off the stage at MBC's "Show Champion"
During today's MBC "Show Champion" pre-recording, After School's Nana fell off the stage and was immediately escorted to the hospital.

According to After School's agency on the 19th, Nana fell approximately 1.2 meters off the stage following their performance. She was immediately brought to the hospital for an examination and fortunately, no major injury was reported so far.

Nana suffered a minor injury and is improving, but the surprise of falling off the stage took her by surprise. To monitor her health and make sure she is in good condition, Nana's schedule may be temporarily halted until further notice.

Meanwhile, After School is expected to continue promoting "First Love" without Nana for the time being.

Also I echo what others have said about AllKpop, their new website is terrible. When they got rid of Disqus, I got rid of them.

I'm glad I stan Nana because I honestly don't see that happening any time soon, Uee & OC are the biggest money-makers in After School.
First Love seems kind of dangerous, I wonder if they've prepared a dance without the poles.
They have apparently, there's different choreo for perfomances other than music shows etc. because it's too hard bringing poles everywhere. They haven't performed it yet though.
