Yeah, Korean is fun, although it's 1000x more fun when you have people in your life to speak in Korean with, which I do not right now, so mine is on that long atrophy.
Don't you live in Chicago? Go to Korea Town and ask some random strangers to be friends, I mean it's kinda weird at first but just tell em straight up you want to learn Korean, most of them really appreciate the fact that you want to learn their language and are surprised.
Right now, my pronunciation is perfect and a lot of Korean people I meet are super excited talking to me even though I tell them I actually don't know much. I don't know how else to put this, but you're also white so you'll get that "omg!!! so amazing!!!" reaction more than I do, I'm Asian so it's not as cool.
Just go up to them and be like, 저는 한국 문화 좋아서 한국어 배우고싶어요. 그런데 한국 친구 없는데 저랑 친구할래요?
edit: that means: I want to learn Korean because I like Korean Culture. However, I don't have any Korean friends, will you be friends with me?
I don't even know if that sentence is right though, normally when I say shit I just ask if its right, right after saying the sentence, like "맞아요?"
It's okay if it's not right though, you tried to speak and most people are so, so helpful (and excited you attempted to speak), and will correct you, well at least the Koreans I've encountered here in Minnesota are nice.
Also it feels really nice when people tell you "어!! 한국말 잘해요!!", the best compliment I've heard was "wow you speak korean like a korean person so I thought you were korean!!"
I was Korean for a second guys.
Or, you could look around for social events with lots of Koreans and start talking there. Or maybe go to a University there and look for events with the Korean student clubs and what not. I made all my friends going to Korean Student Association events, and a Language Exchange Program they have here.
