I swear Cudi needs to stop getting on these G.O.O.D fridays, his contribution is souring my enjoyment.

I would imagine a lot of rappers are watching what Kanye has done for this album short movie, structured G.O.O.D friday releases. He has controlled every avenue of this and has given his project a buzz which is hard nowadays especially with Hip hop fans.

I'm very impressed.

I guess this is the "art" for the next good friday track, The Joy (link is NSFW Pam Grier pic)

mm, pam grier.

...really Pete Rock?

"It's Pete Rock ... Kanye."

"It's Pete Rock ... Kanye."

"It's Pete Rock ... Kanye."

"It's Pete Rock ... Kanye."

"It's Pete Rock ... Kanye."

I don't mind the beat this time around. Not that bad of a song...

Holy shit, Cudi, stop deepthroating that autotune. Actually I'll admit it ... sounds okay for what it is.

So Amazon's tracklist wasn't that far off then... Still only need to hear Gorgeous/Blame Game and that's the album pretty much.

But goddamn, just listened to Joy, and I'm definitely having a GOOD Saturday morning right now. This is on simple, but classic, soulful TCD/Devil In A New Dress-type shit that I absolutely love. Also, it's just another track (like CDDF/GOOD Friday) that is definitely album material, but we're getting for free. Pete Rock came through on this one.

I'm sure there's something.... They just called it blaxploitation cinema instead to get a little more distribution than porn did back then.

The Joy is alright but, at the moment I'm kinda feeling all the upbeat songs a lot more. Slow, mellow tracks are only listenable when I'm in a chilled out, mellow mood. :lol

I agree. I like this kind of sound, but it's never been my favorite from Kanye, even though I know thats his "roots"

kanyewest: Why Halloween bring out girls inner hoe... I was sposed to type freak but I just typed what I really meant instead. LOL

:lol I love his tweets

Two rumors going around:

* Devil in a New Dress features Rick Ross (it's listed that way on the German version of Amazon)
* The final version of Lost in the World has different drums. There's even a snippet.

Those new drums are shit! First all of the lights and now this. Why does he keep making his songs worse!!!

That sounds tacked on. I doubt Kanye would change his song so much from the version we heard in the Runaway movie. We will see though..

I'm interested in the All of the Lights Prelude that's on the album though.

For what it's worth, that version of Lost in the World has apparently been going around in back channels since before the Runaway movie came out, so it could be an early version.

Don't think that's the final version, seems a bit too different from the runaway version, and not consistent with the leak.

I'm praying

I'm convinced, Lost in the world is the best song Kanye has ever done. I can't stop listening to it. Sooooo goood.

His label made him make some more radio friendly songs so that he can actually earn them some money. His talent is still there.
Well, Kick Push was a hit, and Daydreaming played on MTV a lot (at least in Europe). If he's not earning the label some money, the label is doing it wrong.

Kick Push did alright, but other then that he barely made a splash on the radio in the US, except maybe a little Superstar. As a huge fan, I can say that his music is not radio friendly at all, especially with the current state of mainstream. His sound/beats just isnt whats in. Pretty sure The Cool sold like crap, not sure how much you can blame on the label.

That being said, I like the new single, but wish he dropped Atlantic and went to Def Jam/GOOD Music.

I'm sure Lupe will be done with Atlantic as soon as he's done with his contract.

I'm not sure of the deal, but Lupe should really head to G.O.O.D. Music/DefJam whenever his contract with Atlantic is done. They seriously dicked him around.

But, if this album leaks, I don't think I can keep visiting this thread, no matter how much I love it. I want that mystique of finding out new things on this album. That's how I wanted it for Kid Cudi's album but curiosity ended up killing the cat. :lol

I hope there's a way to listen to LASERS now that it's in limbo. Part of me would have really loved to listen to it in it's pre-Atlantic meddling state (while the other part of me didn't care for The Cool as much as I did Food & Liquor, so I was semi-skeptical). If F&F is under Atlantic... can he move them as well after the contract?

I'm diggin The Joy. I can't wait to hear the Madlib and Q-tip tracks. I wonder if those are on Watch the Throne?

I think what he's talking about is the Lasers that Lupe handed into Atlantic last February. It's obvious now that that Lasers isn't what we're getting in March, but a retooled Lasers with more radio-friendly "hits."

It's a bit too early to come to that conclusion, but I understand where you're coming from.

Yeah, you're right. What I should have said is "it's obvious now that we won't be getting the original Lasers that Lupe already turned into Atlantic;" if we were, there's no reason to hold it until March.

Yeah, I was talking about the original version he planned (at one point there was an interview where he said Lasers, at it's current state, is what he intended to release... this was before the suits frowned upon him and his sonic shennanigans).

I figured a radio-friendly version would eventually come out, but I had no idea it would be March.

We still might. I see the "hold it until March" thing as a way for Atlantic to properly promote Lasers, because that album hasn't been promoted ... at all other than Lupe's tours. People who don't follow the tours or use the internet a lot/keep up with Lupe have no idea. One friend of mine recently thought LupEND was still coming out...

DO NOT WANT ON BOTH ENDS. Ross was great on Monster, and it should stay at that.

how did the cool sell like crap? dude went gold. superstar was a pretty decent sized single.

def jam is a garbage label. if lupe breaks free from his current label, he needs to go independent. with the internet the way it is now, he doesn't need a major label to be successful.

hmm... listen to it again
Its simple, short, straight to the point, rhymes are good and functions as a great interlude to Ye's verse.

Why the hate for Ross's little intro to Monster? Seriously I think its ingenious.

I thought even Lupe himself said that his album sold poorly, and blamed it on the fact that it leaked? Was that Food & Liquor then? My bad, might have them confused. Also I think Lupe said that F&F was gone.

Oh well, back to Kanye. Spindashing, if the album leaks, I don't see why you wouldnt just listen to before buying. Do you want it in the best quality possible or something?

It was a great 8 lines from Ross, not even I can hate :lol
...This is bizarro land. :lol

And Ashhong, I'm trying my best to avoid leaks because I'm usually one of the first to jump at the leaks. This time around, I want to surprise myself and hear the music when it gets out without any outside influence when hearing it for the first time, and that's why I'll take a vacation from this thread if it/when it does leak until release. I want that feeling like a kid coming into a toy store for the first time. The feeling of seeing naked boobs for the first time. Seeing a movie that you're dying to see without your friends ruining parts of it. Etc etc.

The release date's soon and Cudi's album is coming out sooner so that is even better for me if Kanye's album ends out leaking; in that case, I'll at least have Cudi's album to keep me busy.

Haha I get that "kid in the toy store" feeling. I guess to me, downloading a final retail leak is the same feeling as listening to the CD the first time. I'll be ripping my CD first thing anyway.

The things is Superstar was a bigger hit than Kick Push in the U.S., iirc, and "The Cool" sold about half a million copies ion the U.S. so Lupe does fine when it comes to sales as well.

IIRC Food and Liquor sold around the same, or at least went gold.
