man...this album man.... I know its divisive but its almost up there with 808s for me. I love 808s the most out of all the albums but I don't listen to it much. this album, this album would get much play from me front to back. the only songs I could see myself listening to by themself are the ones ye already chose plus on sight.

I like Keef on Hold My Liquor. Kinda reminds me of Future on Pain. I think that's what Kanye was trying to recreate. It sounds (in the literal sense) weak, vulnerable, and all that. Bolstered by Justin Vernon's vocals, it sounds cool especially w/the beat.

I agree.

I hate Keef but I love him on Hold My Liquor. Track wouldn't be the same without him on it.

I love the album so this is just a small nitpick, but does anybody else wish Kanye got as intense vocally on the albums as he does live? Just one example is in New Slaves, around the "fuck you and your hampton house" part. Live he yells it with heaps of passion, but on the album it's just like a slightly raised voice.

I think if he let loose in the studio a bit more, he could take these songs to the next level. Same goes for the delivery of Black Skinhead.

should have just brought in MC Ride.

I cant wait to hear it tomorrow. I hope he goes back to some CD and Graduation sample style, but judging by what he has released so far i doubt that its going to happend. I just want my old Kanye back! So for the people that have heard it, how is it?

you will be disappointed.

If you want old kanye all you are getting is one track. If you want a good album it is here for the taking.

The screaming at the end of I Am God sounds awesome, the way it's mixed in

I really wanna pump this album through speakers but it's 8:30am in Aus and I'm in an apartment D: Will have to wait until mid day.

Sounded amazing through my M50s though so I'm not missing out at least.

At the beginning of guilt trip, where's the beat from that sounds like, idk I would describe as like a casino sound or like rainbow road. It sounds so familiar.

Anyone who puts this in front of MBDTF is insane. Sounds like a novelty album.

you've been saying this for the last few post care to give a reason? this is very minimalist compared to dark fantasy. dark fantasy was over indulgent and over produced to me. this cuts all of the fat and isn't trying to appeal to awards shows.

Man, I thought it was alright at launch but now that i've had time to process it I only really come back to like 4-5 songs at most. Some stuff on there I can relate to, but so far this has made a far better first impression and that, to me, bodes well for its longevity.

This. MBTDF was an incoherent ass mess.

my biggest complaint is that its too short. i wish it had one or two more songs, its over way too quick :( i didnt like i am a god at first but im coming around to it. been a long time where i liked just about every damn song in an album.

man im glad im not the only one that thought about rainbow road during that segment lol *high five*

I just listened.

mother of god

it's like a dark/messed up version of 808's & Heartbreak... and that's my favourite Kanye album. fuck the haters.
yes, I know that it's an unpopular opinion haha

My only problem with this album still is that i need more, just two more tracks would have been great. I love that there is no filler bs though.

yeah it could be a bit longer. maybe just extended songs and such rather than new tracks. i feel like I Am God could have had a late-song change up or something, right after the screaming. Same with Send It Up, which is an awesome beat which feels over too soon. It might just be me, but I like when songs reach some huge climax at the end haha

yo seriously. loved this song since i first heard it.

and then in yeezus when they bust this sample out in full halfway through, i just had to stand up haha. i felt like punching something.

Hah, I did the same thing, just on I Am A God. That's dat cyberpunk/gothic/heavenly shit right there.

I think Kanye's the best when his tracks are overproduced -- at least recently. Trimming the fat only works when the fat has something to surround. I think when you begin to strip down Kanye in 2013 you find something rather shallow. Other posters have been arguing for some type of ideological coherence to this album, yet it comes across as a novelty. It's not a clarion call; it's noise. Plus, none of the features or samples are doing anything for me aside from maybe two or three tracks tops; whereas, I loved almost every track on Dark Fantasy.

I agree it's too much cutting but imo dark fantasy was too much bloat. Hopefully on the next album its perfectly balanced.
