Face looks great now, but they need to fix the hair. Nothing against the hairstyle but it still looks like bananas.
haha, nice catch

MindblownJesus fuck people are so close minded around here. Ken's hair looks like bananas? What if it is bananas.
I don't like her outfit, especially those stupid sleeves on that lame jacket thing whatever it is she's wearing, but I do like full leggings instead of half leggings. I think half leggings look stupid.
Are you a guy? I'm betting you are, because guys have no appreciation for fashion. (I say in a sweeping statement!)
Mvc2 is nothing but a bunch of sprites from lots of games with a fraction of the animation they originally had. It absolutely looks horrible.
The sprites were awful in tandem w/ the 3D backgrounds (which were fine). It was very jarring, and the frames of animation felt like they were at an all time low. CvS2 looks like shit to me for the same reasons. The style of these games is fine, the execution of the visuals though, awful.
She looks like Uma Thurman. Uggh.
I can hear that but I mean the game wouldn't be as fast as it would be if you kept all these long frames of animation. That's why Third Strike works so well, the pacing of the gameplay matched the long beautifully done animations of the characters attacks and movements. I agree that MvC2 is kind of all splashed together but I guess that's why I like it. It's kind of that moment where Capcom was just like "fuck it" and threw together all these assets and made something crazy huge for its time. I can see how it looks bad to some though.

MvC2 had terrible stages, especially coming off of MvC1.
I didn't mind the sprites all that much, but with a 50+ roster size it'd be a ton of work to redo old ones.
Birdie looks great model and animation wise, like amazingI can agree that all the hair in this game is garbage.
A 3D arcade action game meant for arcade sticks would be hella tight.
There are no old sprites in mvc2, lol.
Or, more accurately, it's like, 95% old sprites. There's nothing to redo. They cut animation from existing games and put them in mvc2.
She looks like Uma Thurman. Uggh.
Karin is hardly the worst offender, though. Ken, Mika and Necalli look downright atrocious. I doubt Mika's hair could ever work in 3D, though, it's an inherently stupid design.I can agree that all the hair in this game is garbage.
I think people are upset she is not animay anymore.
SF stopped being Anime a long time ago.
I dunno, looks like animes I watch. Sword of the Stranger, Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Alchemist. Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie.

SFV has a slightly jarring mix of animu and realism going on. It had to grow on me, to be honest.
It depends what you classify as anime. Comparing Alpha's art to something like SF4. I think SF deviated from that type of artsyle quite a while back.

SF V is proving that animations can still be king in a 3D modeled fighting game. I always liked Xrd's art style but I felt that the gameplay was stilted stuck in 2D. Capcom's last few fighters have always given the player an unbelievable sense of movement and control in my opinion, and sets them above the rest of the competition.

Yes.
Doesn't mean I don't have an appreciation of good fashion (I can be too obsessed with it sometimes), which Karin lacks in each of her designs.
Full leggings are ok with me but they, in combination with the jacket, make me think they wanted to redesign her entirely. They should have at this point. The overdone sleeves make her look too overdressed. There's too much going on on her whole upper body, actually.
Even though I think her original design was bad too, I at least prefer it over this one, especially if she was wearing booty shorts instead of shorts under the skirt.
Her face isn't the problem. It's the outfit. I think she's the worst design in SF5.
But just two weeks ago everyone said it was Mika xDHer face isn't the problem. It's the outfit. I think she's the worst design in SF5.

Now that you mention it, I do think the jacket should be more fitted to her body. It would at least look better and wouldn't look so thick on her. And she should lose the ruffled blouse she's wearing under the jacket. And they should change those ridiculous sleeves. Overall, just too much going on there.I dunno, the riding jacket makes perfect sense, and her outfit is appropriately busy/ornate to reflect her status (in terms of design shorthand). it's not the slickest fit, I wouldn't consider it fashionable, but I think it works just fine for her as a character. I'm hoping she gets some elegant alts tho
I think Mika looks good. But just two weeks ago everyone said it was Mika xD
My only complaint is that they changed her shade of blue. It's too light/bright now.
I would be really surprised if they didn't have a bunch of different colors/shades for each character, for each costume, like they did in SF4.

Maybe they meant new Uma.Is this a bad thing now?
Y'all got no taste.
Karin's motion card is up. The most interesting part is that her bio says that she's the head of the Kanzuki Zaibatsu. For those who don't know, a Zaibatsu is basically the Japanese term for family-controlled industrial and financial business conglomerates in the Empire of Japan, whose influence and size allowed control over significant parts of the Japanese economy from the Meiji period until the end of World War II. Tekken also has this with the Mishima Zaibatsu, the control of which has changed hands over the course of the franchise (from Heihachi to Kazuya to Jin to whoever has it in Tekken 7). If I recall, control over a Zaibatsu doesn't change hands unless extreme circumstances cause it (which is hella common in the Tekken universe, given the dysfunctional Mishima/Kazama family). This means that, more likely than not, Karin's parents died since the events of Alpha 3. The possibility is further emphasized when Karin said that she was the head of the family as a whole in one of her win quotes. That being said, how Karin's parents died (if they did die) would still be a hanging thread that could impact Karin's role in the Street Fighter V story. Their deaths could have been from either sickness, old age, or murder at the hands of either Shadaloo or the Illuminati. If murder was what happened (which I'm starting to think is the case), then we may have Karin's tie to the potential Shadaloo vs. Illuminati plot of the story. This is why I hope that Siliconera is right. If the Illuminati did it (assuming that Karin's parents were killed, leading to Karin's untimely ascension to power), then Urien's gonna have hell to pay. Either way, if said parents were killed, I'm pretty sure either Bison, Vega, or Urien were the ones who did it. Gill doesn't seem like the type to get his hands dirty unless he has to.
I hope her newfound responsibility doesn't negatively affect her relationship with Sakura.
Judging by the win quotes, she doesn't seem to be grief-stricken. So if her parents did die, it must have been during the events of SFII or IV rather than right before SFV. That being said, as Troubled Bat pointed out in the SFV Roster Speculation Thread, M. Bison did have some beef with the Kanzukis. As such, M. Bison may be the one responsible for killing Karin's parents (again, if they were murdered).I hope her newfound responsibility doesn't negatively affect her relationship with Sakura.
Anyone still hating on her face?
You like MvC1 over 2 too?
