And I guess I am in the minority that finds Vol. 2 to be the superior film. Vol. 1 had all the action, but Vol. 2 was a modern western and had all the character drama that paid off in the end.
Oh, and here is more proof of Vol. 2's superiority over Vol. 1:

Nope, I enjoyed it. Definitely the better half of Grindhouse.elseanio said:I hadn't watched them in so long, and borrowed them on Bluray recently... Best fucking film ever. I wish 'The Whole Bloody Affair' would just get done already.
I'm beginning to think I'm the only person who loved death proof.

Of course, this is coming from someone who isn't a huge fan of zombie movies. Or horror films of any kind, really. I tolerate them but I don't love them.
Bolded is very underrated. I hated it at first, but slowly over the years it has grown to be such a fucking fantastic movie.afternoon delight said:It's always going to be compared now as two parts, but it's one fucking movie.
Jackie Brown > Pulp Fiction > Kill Bill = Inglorious Basterds = Reservoir Dogs
As in, it's hard as fuck to rank his films because they are all so enjoyable.
wiki said:It was a major inspiration for Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill films. It borrows plot, characters (specifically the character of O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu), visual motifs and settings. In fact, Kill Bill plays like an extended remake of Lady Snowblood. The scene in which The Bride fights O-Ren Ishii uses a snowy landscape that echoes scenes in Lady Snowblood, and the theme song sung by Meiko Kaji (translated by Tarantino as "The Flower of Carnage") is also used in Kill Bill, Vol. 1

kaboom. Probably my favorite scenes in the entire series were when she finally meets her daughter and has the confrontation of Bill. His comparison of Beatrix Kiddo and Superman was fun to watch.
Yup. Vol. 2 was more of a slow burn as opposed to the flash of part 1. And I love the fact that they spent so much time with Bill. You grew to love the bastard, but you knew he had to die. And he went out like a champ too.layzie1989 said:kaboom. Probably my favorite scenes in the entire series were when she finally meets her daughter and has the confrontation of Bill. I don't really see what you mean. I've always thought the pacing and directing in both Vol 1 and 2 was pretty great. Tarantiono doesn't usually follow the classic 3 part movie pacing but imo that's just a good thing.DeathNote said:Pacing in a lot of scenes is worse than dragon ball z :lol
Wrong. Kill Bill did not take ten minutes of slo mo action shots for a single punch to land.DeathNote said:Watched some of part 1 last night.

I mean, I get that Part 2 is just a totally different film. But great in its own regard.
It's also got the greatest opening and ending sequence ever.
