Killer Instinct coming to Xbox One

Ken Lobb is working on Killer Instinct, and he was a designer on the original (trust me, you know who he is... Ever use the KLobb smg in Golden Eye? That gun is named after him). He works at MS now as a creative director, and this was one of his projects.
Oh yeah, I know who Ken Lobb is. I was just saying no one from Rare that we know of besides Robin Beanland is helping with the game and Mr. Beanland just gave his blessings to another composer.

Ken Lobb worked for Nintendo back and and MS now as you said. He was super close with Rare though.

Perfect example of some of the ease of access to KI. You can literally hit buttons and get big flashy combos....that do 13% damage if you don't put in a proper ender, haha. Sucks no Glacius.

considering the way they were absoultely abusing those fightsticks, I do not consider that a good thing. Button bashing is one thing but they were basically hammering at them

how is crackdown confirmed?
tshirt. No way he would wear something like that if a game wasnt in the works.

It's because Wulf is a back-forward character with no charge, mash the joystick and press buttons and you get combos. However, if you understand KI, doing this gets to nowhere because it does no damage. Normal combos don't do much damage by themselves, it's the enders where the damage comes from.

Devs also mentioned Wulf is the easy to learn/pick up and play character. Also, pre-alpha.

Fair enough. My memory of actually playing KI is hazy (I only played 1 frequently in the arcade nearly 17 years ago) but saberwulf seemed alot more high excution back then.

If I remember correctly it was chief thunder and orchid that were the easy ones to play.

How do they get this game done by November?

Are they launching with 8 characters or something?

Well they obviously have a lot more characters than the two that we've seen. I don't know if they've given a count of how many we can have at launch. If I had to guess, they'll probably continue to release more characters after launch as DLC.

I take it Killer Instinct isn't getting a retail version? That is the ONLY game that makes me consider wanting an Xbox One...

Like I said yesterday or the day before, as there is no retail release I think they are using this game as an experiment of a 'PC style release before its completed.'

I think that the game mechanics will be complete on release but I think over time they will role out characters and possibly gameplay modes.

Then once they are all done, then release a retail complete pack.

One of the biggest KI fans there is and as soon as I saw this shown at E3 I was disappointed.

I'll stick to playing the originals on MAME.

Fuck you M$

What's disappointing about it? I honestly think it looks more interesting than the original material ever did.

I heard that it was getting a full retail release as well as a "Jago is free, buy the other characters individually" version.

Game looks amazing. Almost as amazing and how big of a shit Microsoft took on it. F2P with the worst player free. Which makes it pay-to-win. Fuck you Microsoft.

Seriously dude. Read up on it. The free version is basically a demo that has Jago unlocked as if it was the full version. You can buy the "full" game out right or you can pay for individual characters or packs of characters. Calling this pay to win is like calling SF4 pay to win because you actually have to buy the game.

Can't believe this is still a thing.

I haven't been into fighting games for a long time, but I am seriously hyped for this game. Can't wait to see more at Evo.
