Hey you're the guy who has negative things to say in many Sony threads. I seen what you said in the Sony announcement thread. If it helps, many other members of the media feel the same so don't you worry.

well, let's judge the game when it releases. but do not bring Shane into a Sony thread.

Wow was that a clusterfuck.
5+ people using rocket launchers all in the same hallway at the same time.
I'm getting revived in the same hallway and getting killed again because i'm facing the wrong way our out of ammo. I couldnt even shoot most of the time because of 4+ teammates blocking my view in front of me. I either shoot and take a team kill or get ran over. I freakin hated that nomnan and thompson guy...freakin rocket spammers, wtf.

And I'm sorry Stillmatic but you should just leave the tactician to me. Dude, your placements were all wrong. You cant just throw down a spawn point anywhere in the general area. I couldnt do shit as a tactician because every time i'd go to throw down a spawn point, there'd be none left. You would have us facing the wrong way or facing a wall or something.

That last match was the worst kind....
Freakin jett kept on catching me right after i'm revived or right as im running out of ammo.
Sciz caught like 5 of us with headshots at the same time :lol

You sound like a joy to play with :lol

There are a lot of signature aspects, but the Higs look like Nazi's mostly if you look no further than the cult of militarism and the Helghast Triad symbol.

Once you get into fine detail, though, the Helghast are nothing like Nazi's. Nazi's were led by a madman, horrifically disorganized and plagued from start to finish by infighting. The Helghast are organized and dedicated, and suffer from a minimum of infighting.

Visari may be brutal and driven but he's certainly far from mad. He's less mad than Hitler and less mad than Stalin - he does suffer from a wide streak of megalomania but many leaders do.

There was a need to provide some strength in depth for the Helghast, to prevent them becoming too 2D. Once you have a faction pushed into fascism by neglect and past wrongs, it's ALWAYS going to look a bit Nazi, because that's the big parallel that everyone knows. Mostly we wanted to communicate why the Helghast were so damn angry at everyone.

Also, you have to remember that everything before D-Day about World War II is news to some people. I don't think that it's an inopportune time to talk about how decisions made at the end of a war campaign can drastically affect the nature of the following peace.

So does this game have a rooting interest or is it just one of these post-modern, morally relative videogames where there is no good/bad, right/wrong everything is based on one side's 'perspective', let's examine the root cause of conflict types of stories? That doesn't make for a good videogame story, imo.

So Dec 4 they are allowed to talk about single player. That is a Thursday. Will we see something on PSN you think? Will there be video or just extended written impressions?

And one final questions, does Sony themselves have any more beta waves planned?

I'd assume and hope we get some stuff on the PSN!
There will be videos as well as written impressions apparently.

No more beta waves, the beta finishes on 28th of Nov.
Dunno if they're going to do an open beta near release.

That doesn't make sense, it's like saying let's not bring *insert 1up editor except shane* to a MS thread.

I have a question for you guys in the beta. How long does it take to get all the badges?

It's impossible to say. The more active you are in completing objectives, the faster you'll get there. Once you get the Medic unlocked, then you'll really be moving since you can get extra points by reviving and healing people.

They really need a Helghast campaign, I really want to play as them way more then those ISA punks.

Also, should I play KZ1 before 2 comes out? You think its necessary?

To everyone who is planning to play the KZ games before 2 arrives,
Don't forget to donwload chapter 5 for Killzone Liberation.

In a full round (about 30 minutes) I usually get anywhere from 20 to 40 points (30 to 60 if my team wins since it gives you a 1.5x bonus multiplier). The highest rank which unlocks the Scout is at 2800 points.

But there are secondary abilities associated with each badge that don't unlock based on sheer points. For example, if you as a medic revive 5 people during a round you'll get a ribbon. If you get 8 of those ribbons you unlock the ability to use a health pack. So yeah, you've got unlocks based on points and unlocks based on performance. It's a pretty cool system.

Yup. I'm loving it. There are a load of combinations, a load of medals that open other options up.

Just a heads up to those I've played with. Sorry for any team kills, regens in bad areas, and so on. I'm not the best player in the world by any means. LOL

Yeah, I suck too :) Just try not to suck too often and you should be ok. Definitely try the medic class, though. Tossing rezes behind cover is easier than trying to get kills.

This based off of that sounds like it'll be my friends game of choice, really nice seems like a better more intergrated version of cod4 levelling up system.

So this goes to anybody in the beta, has anybody compiled a list of how many points,as it were. unlock the different classes.

That fool was the worst. I think his name was Thompson Anderson or some sh!t like that. The whole team with rocket launchers. Thompson Anderson or whatever your name is, if you're reading this....F@%k YOU!! Besides that, it was fun playing with many of you from here. I really need to get a headset... On the good side, I unlocked sabateur last night! ;)

I've been thinking about making some simple but comprehensive graphic for this stuff since it'd be nice to have a single reference, but I'll type it out for now:

Code:
Private 0 points You start here
Corporal 30 points Can now create a squad
Sergeant 100 points Can now create a clan
Sergeant 1st Class 200 points Unlocks shotgun
Master Sergeant 350 points Unlocks Medic badge
Sergeant Major 550 points Unlocks submachine guns
Lieutenant 800 points Unlocks Engineer badge
Captain 1100 points Unlocks rocket launcher
Major 1450 points Unlocks Tactitian badge
Lieutenant Colonel 1850 points Unlocks Assault badge
Colonel 2300 points Unlocks Saboteur badge
General 2800 points Unlocks Scout badge

^^^you can just keep that, it works really well (unless there's other stuff).

Speaking of points, for people in the beta, on average how many points do you earn per match?

There's a lot of other stuff, yeah. And the average depends on the player, and it also depends on if your faction wins. Like I said up above, my personal average is about 20 to 40 points. I'm an okay player, I usually end up in the top 5

Thanks for that. Unlocking stuff doesn't seem to be as bad as some people are saying it is. The secondary badges and stuff have other requirements, right? Giving people stuff to unlock in the meantime between the big benchmarks seems like it'll be nice.

Still nowhere near Warhawk levels of time. Some people were making it sound like it takes forever to get anywhere. It's not as bad as I had expected. Plus, I'd like it to at least take a bit of time. It's never good when you can get everything in a couple days.

They lower the amount of points needed to lvl because it is a beta? I would personally like it if ranking up isn't so much work like Warhawk.

I think for the most part you could have everything within the first two weeks. But ranking in KZ2 is not like ranking in Warhawk in that it is not a badge indicating dedication to playing the game (where you get rewarded with new character/vehicle skins as nothing else in the game is affected by rank). Ranking in KZ2 is a way of limiting the arsenal of players at points in order to make people of same rank have the same abilities. Thus helping people grow into the game at a rate relative to their own skill level. After a few weeks when you are comfortable with all of the different main classes you will start specializing by maxing out secondary badges, then from there you will further specialize to create a character that plays to your style and strengths against people with similar abilities.

This does mean that you will not have access to other weapons or skills, but no one else on the battle field will either. So it is really just a way to let people learn the maps and controls (and the very good starting weapons) without having to worry about saboteurs, assaults, turrets or scouts.

Cheers mate, I was wondering do you think they'll be more weapons you unlock in the final build, or even map types - like you don't earn the write to play on this until say your basic class is a certain level and you have x, y, and z achieved as well.

But yeh this sounds like my type of game, Febuary can't come soon enough.
