Awesome. One of the things I loved most was shooting hot bolts in Half-Life and nailing people to the wall. (I think it was Half-Life...)

I think that was FEAR and yeah, probably the best weapon ever.

Edit, actually I think there was a bolt gun in Half-life 2 as well.. but the one in FEAR was fucking amazing.

Don't forget AvP and the Predators spears+human heads :)

Yeah Half-Life 2, the crossbow gun thing.

I think that the Medic should be able to drag wounded team mates to a safer position. That could solve some of the issues.

All this can also be avoided by using squad tactics, such as securing the area first before issuing the order to revive. This means not playing in a clan or fixed squad/group would be huge disadvantage, this is what we are already experiencing I guess.

A confirmation message could be all we need: "You are being revived. Press (X) for a medical miracle. Press (O) to go into the light."

How is that not a good thing?
It's not an issue if they suck at something or not - they're supposed to know if the game is good or not even if they're not great at it - it's their job after all, and they're supposed to have knowledge about it, not just mechanical skills. It's also their job to at least factually report on things that are there or are missing. I don't work in that field, but if I were to review Madden and go only by how much I suck at that game, I'd probably give it 2 or 3/10. Taking an advice from that review would be about as wise as taking 'Retirement Home Monthly' movie reviews into account for making the decision about watching the latest action movie.

Has that Guy Cocker guy ever played a fps online before?

Why the hell is he always aiming low, almost at the ground low? If he encounters someone he has to adjust his aim right of the bat, and in this game it almost means certain death from what beta testers are saying!

Also he just runs forward, never checking or rarely ever checking behind him for enemies! A Helghast player could follow him right around the entire map and he would never know it!

I'm not sure what to make of this! Gamespot thinks this person is credible enough and or experienced enough to make comments on a game? This guy has little to no skills and he's doing previews and reviews for games?

It's not a bad thing, as long as they specify they suck. That way their review hits the target audience. Otherewise, he's affecting the view of people who actually know how to play a FPS or Wipeout HD.

I don't like sports games much and since I rarely play them, I suck. Sending me in to review NBA 09 or something to that nature would be a great disservice to not only the game, but to anyone who actually knows how to play the game.

The Killzone 2 beta is the worst fucking better ever.

coz' they haven't given me an invite :( in fact, Sony have NEVER given me an invite, except the R2 beta. When I already had the R2 Gamestop beta code that is. What a waste, eh?

Woohoo! Great news, would of been disappointing to end the beta last night with sooo many freezing and lag issues( the last GAF game was near-on unplayable - well that's my excuse for being last on the HG side anyway :lol ) I gave up trying to play in the end. It was strange as it had run pretty much flawlessly every night for the last couple of weeks. Anyways, heres to another week of awsomeness :D

What are the odds of that happening? :p

Almost zero, since GG has nothing to do with running the servers, they're all run by Sony. :P

Which is good, because otherwise they'd all be in Amsterdam, right?

"THE THRILLA FROM GUERILLA" has been extended.

Taking from the sniper article

http://www.killzone.com/kz/news.psml?kz_news_article=VC-32+Sniper+Rifle

Sixaxis controller

Doug continues: “We noticed on the shooting range that a real sniper has to hold his weapon really steady before taking his shot. The Playstation Sixaxis controller allowed us to mimic the feeling of a real Sniper by taking the player’s movements and translating them directly into the game world. We wanted in game snipers to develop a steady hand, just like in the real world.”

The use of the controller is broken down in two parts. First, the yaw and pitch of the scope can be controlled by tilting the controller without rotational movement from the right thumb-stick. This gives the players fine control over his aiming, which is especially useful in 5X zoom. Second, when the controller is tilted passed a certain angle the player and his view rotates, this provides the ability to track targets without using the right thumb-stick.

Of course, the right thumb-stick functionality isn’t disabled during Sniper zoom, so players can still choose to use the conventional aiming method. However, as Doug points out: “energetic hand movements will cause scope jitter. So having a steady hand is definitely one of the first requirements if you want to become an effective sniper. You know, like the snipers that generally live to fight another mission...”

And here I thought it only produced jitters instead of actual control :lol

Try not to play in rooms with spectators on. Odd things happen when someone is watching you.

I just played the beta.... WOW, looks simply amazing, the motion blur and DoF make it look so cinematic.

... and i thought Gears 2 looked good...

I hope they do a flood of invites on the last 2 days of the beta. ya, they need to test the servers, ya.
damnit i need this game.

Because like he said in his review, he is used to games where it takes a lot of time/bullets to kill, and he would have time to turn around and aim at an attacker. But that's not the way this game works.

Also, a number of people I played Halo coop with do the aim to the ground thing. I am not sure if they like to have a good view of the battlefield, and zoom in as they approach a conflict, but that's the way they play. Also I noticed some people like to aim low and then jump as soon as they encounter an enemy. Sort of like preparing for a bunny hop to start off the encounter, which allows them to re-aim in the air for the firefight. This must be a remnant of CS players.

Cant go again snipers with assault rifle?

There were 3 snipers on 1 team last night and I was taking them all out. I took them all out back to back too!
Ask schrade, he was 1 of em XD

I was owning so hard last night/this morning.
When Loudninja got on, I started sucking a little though.
