I've been playing Chain of Memories, and it's pretty good. But a question popped into my head while I was playing the game. The whole KH franchise, was it Disney's or Square's idea? I was thinking about it, and it is possible it came from either one of them.
Disney's Idea: Disney co. probably wanted some epic Disney adventure in the videogame industry. However, it would be hard to find a company that would be able to do it right. Squaresoft was gaining popularity after Final Fantasy VII was released (which was successful and acclaimed in all parts of the world), and Disney figured they could create a huge Disney RPG-type game like Final Fantasy with Square.
Square's Idea: Some Squaresoft employee who has seen a lot of the Disney animated movies might've figured, "Hey, wouldn't it be great if we could combine all of these movies into one huge game?" He probably told some producers, they probably thought it would be a neat project, got Disney's permission, and began work on the game.
Well, does anyone know the true origins to this game?
