Should point out that in most cases stuff like this is really out of the hands of the artist his/herself. Labels are the ones who decide what happens, and if they smell money, shit hits the ceiling pretty fast.
The only upside is Japanese music industry is less likely to sign extremely stupid corner-cutting contracts like USA. (lol San Andreas digital versions getting music yanked off 10 years later because timed contract)
