Why are people so salty about this? I'm pretty detached from the NBA, but don't people like Kobe? Why wouldn't anyone want him to do well on his last game?
Alot people hate on Kobe cause he used to KILL their teams in his prime so now that is not that good anymore they get to take shots at him.

He had a legal issue with sexual assault awhile back. Not sure if he did it or not but it was a bad look.

Tuned in for the second half of the game last night. Watching Kobe go for 40, then 50, and then start gunning for 60 when it became obvious that he'd need to carry the Lakers to a W was amazing.

We'll miss you Kobe. Greatest of all time.

Whoa now, easy there

Yeah this seems to be it. Some of my co-workers were straight up saying that they don't care about a rapist. I don't recall there being clear cut evidence in that case and I don't think Kobe has had a history with sexual assault other than incident so it's funny how tarnished your reputation can become many years and years later w/o people even knowing the details about anything.

They fed him the ball all game and let him score, zero defense, like an all-star game. Not impressed, completely manufactured game.

The only thing true here is they fed him the ball, but were you expecting otherwise? Utah played defense, it wasn't a cakewalk. Did people generally want him to do well? Obviously, but Utah didn't give him 60 points or the Lakers the game.

He settled out of court with an apology. Which typically translates to an admission of guilt but without the criminal consequences. In any case we know he had an extramarital affairs, which you'd think would spoil him to most of GAF but many seem to forget or not care.

that game was hype, pretty much the Jazz knew what was going to happen and they still got 60 dropped on them

they could have easily double team x triple teamed him all night to play spoiler but they didn't

60 fucking points lol

Which is even worst considering the defense was pick up game at the park level.

He hit 44% which is below average!

Also NBA sponge bath having Golden state as the second story behind Kobe.

Not to mention the Lakers franchise for the next 5 years.

He had an efficien't shooting night by any measure. He had an insanely efficient night handlig the ball.

Nobody gave a shit about 73 wins because of his performance.

Harness the hate better. It's what k e would want lmao

Fuck the haters who want to diminish his legacy because he was broken down the past 3 years. You are the Smush Parkers of this message board.

As a guy who has been watching basketball for over 30 years I really can't remember a guy as entertaining as Kobe. As a Lakers fan I know how spoiled we have been to watch this guy play for the first 17 years. Even when we weren't good he was able to make the Lakers entertaining as hell and relevant. There was just something about Kobe that was hard to miss.

Top 3 Laker of all time. I rank them as follows.

1. Cedric Ceballos
2. Kobe Bryant
3. Magic Johnson

(Kareem was not a career Laker so he doesn't make the list, though he is one of the best players of all time).

Good luck in your next life Kobe. And that game last night was a trip. LA came through and gave him a proper send off.

He's 37 years old & was able to drop 60 points on 50 shots with 20 years of milage on his body.

idk how anyone can hate on his performance, it was fun to watch & a nice way for him to end his career. I don't think anyone could've pictured him scoring 60 after those injuries he had.

You got a named 6 other people who are also the greatest of all time as well. I don't understand what he needs to answer too when he's sitting with them lol.

The bent out of shape responses because Kobe is a guaranteed legend and is definitely one of the greats of all time. 💀

and a rapist

What impressed me most besides the 60 points was that he played the entire second half. I mean, he was clearly gassed near the end, but still. At his age, going an entire half, and shooting a fucking ton that's impressive.

You don't recal right. He lit it up with bum Dwight to make the playoffs too, but yeah. It's all totally an old court case nobody even remembers the details of.

There is DEFINITELY some just straight up jealousy haters. But trust me, people hold a grudge about shit like that rape thing regardless of the facts.

You've been watching basketball for 30 years, and Cedric Ceballos is the greatest Laker?????!!!!!

First thought was "wow, awesome!". Seeing the stats though, 50 shots. smfh. Still, from his point of view, must have been about the best way to end his career that was realistically possible.

Also, LOL @ the idea that people hate Kobe because he "smashed their teams" like... 15 years ago. Talking about the Shaq and Kobe run. When they were really dominant and hate worthy. Probably has more to do with the whole rape thing and the fact that he's just not a very likeable guy.

Lakers age anointed Ceballos a long time ago. We also consider him to be the best player of the 90s.

The tougher question is whether or not he is in the conversation of greatest human being ever. I am in that camp but I understand the arguments of those who will pick a Jesus or Einstein over him (though neither of those 2 ever dunked blind that I am aware of).

Laughably pathetic performance by the Utah Generals, but still a lot better than I would have expected even if Kobe did take 50 shots.

a lot of people didn't like him almost from the get go. So, I would say most people are already had their minds made up beforehand. and the legal stuff just gave them another reason to hate him at every opportunity.
