Uggh, the wait for ANYTHING new or interesting is killing me. I just want to hear SOMETHING new, HAIR seems so far away. Why on earth isn't this leaking?!

if it hasnt leaked yet then it probably wont until shipments hit stores.
 
Yeah, I figure that. I do know for a fact, however, that there will be copies in all Australian retailers on the 19th May, and that these will be purchaseable. This means we might even get copies leaked before this date.

I would assume because of how logistically, it would work. I think some JB stores will put it on shelves that night because they'll receive it then, simply because they can't receive shipments for the BTW release on Monday. So they'll get it first.

Are there "Street Dates" for albums? Either way, the actual discs will be in stock for people and we'll get a leak if they aren't on shelves.

Also, most stores received their OUT NOW banners for the album two days ago. (Thurs/Fri). Do they usually send these things out so early?
 
Goddamn it why won't this thing leak? All these people on twitter who say they have the files don't wanna upload them themselves, and then again I don't even know if they're telling the truth. Part of me just wants to wait until it comes out next monday so I can listen to it authentically but on the other hand fuck that, I've waited too long. Given the Farmville thing and the Metro deal we should start hearing tracks starting on Tuesday. Plus Hair on Monday. But still. Argh.

if the album didn't leak from the pressing plant we have to wait for the first retailers to get their shipments

They're probably lying about having it, but if they do happen to have it their copies may be watermarked. I get a lot of promo CDs and they're watermarked with my personal info, so if I leak it it'll be tracked back to me and I could be sued. That's probably the case with the GaGa album.

The little monsters apparently are also ready and willing to report all leaks. This album really doesn't seem like it will leak.

It's not unheard of, at least in the US, for some huge movie and album releases to be sent from the distributor via same-day or overnight, including weekend deliveries -- I can remember getting boxes of 50 Cent's first CD rushed in on a Saturday and putting them out for sale because a local shop had broken the street date.

As for the marketing and display materials, yeah, that stuff is always prepped way in advance, sometimes it'll be sitting in a store for a month or more before the product is due to be out.

I know some were saying her voice seemed a bit weak, or something, on Graham Norton, but WOW. She's grand.

If you missed Born this Way, she came out of a coffin with a faux pregnancy. Apparently she pulled a cord and something was supposed to happen but it didn't work hence the awkward struggle to take it off during the song. This is brilliant by the way and it certainly takes a different atmosphere. I love the Jazz and Blues anyway.

edit - I almost wish she'd do a piano-only concert sometime.

There were rumours of some extended Australian tour recently. Wonder if they're true, I'd love to see her again.

Edge of Glory is how I imagine the song should have sounded - the album version sounds so overproduced to me. Piano album plz. Theres' always some really nice songs hiding under the crushing production she sometimes uses.
 
Edge of Glory is beautiful acoustic.

Normally I'm not a fan of her acoustic versions, because she fucks with the rhythm and structure of songs, yells, and smashes her feet on the keyboard. But this time it was different, how I want more of her singles to sound like acoustically. Very constrained and unpretentious, a stripped down version of her songs, and it really showcases Gaga's singing talent. I'd actually like to see how far you could go with it. Like, add a violin or cello to it. Shit would sound so good...!
 
Hearing the crowd sing back "tonight, yeah baby!" made me go like :))))))

and omg at this song acoustic. jesus christ it's amazing.
