Lady Gaga JUDAS Hype Thread [It'll be better this time, promise!]

Yes!

I have a feeling this song will get lots of playtime from me. :)
Edit: although I should've known that the low quality snippets always keep enough to the imagination so that you think it'll sound better in HQ but in reality it doesn't. The bassline in the snippets sounded "harder", which I would have preferred.

CULTURAL BAPTISM!

Is there a reason for the black avatars with a blue circle and a person in them? There are two of them in this thread. They suck: I want to see more of Lachowski and less of Gaga. :-P

GlaDOS got into their systems....

Portal 2 themed avatars, venture over to the gaming section for all the info.

Portal 2, bech.

Edit: Second listen, I liked it a lot more. It's a good one.

I see.

I'm trying to not listen to the song until I go jogging later tonight. :)

eh, it's alright. much better than ''born this way'' atleast.

i guess she peaked too soon with ''bad romance.''

Because the video adds an extra layer of instruments to the song....
lol I'm also wondering how a video can make or break a song. Perhaps he was referring to the hype behind the song.

Too whacked out and dance-y for the radio.

Definitely not the next Bad Romance or Poker Face.
Too dance-y? It seems more than OK on that front.

I agree a bit on the former though. I especially want to see how radios will handle the bridge.

Better than Born This Way but still far from Bad Romance and Love Game. Song sounded very anemic with no real body or strength to it.

So I guess thread title did not lie but I want old Gaga back :(

I wasn't feeling the cover until I noticed you can see Gaga's reflection on it:

Why must Godga punish me by releasing Judas while Im doing a major paper!!!
GURL, I have four exams jammed together early next week. Between Portal and Judas, I AM IN DANGER.

I was expecting a sound and look to this Judas:

IE more leather and rock and roll and less religious iconography

Well I will listen to this song in the future (ie when I hear it played in a mall or something) and I would make a judgement then. BTW, I loved Bad Romance.

Too dancey in the sense that it sounds like some crazy stuff you'd hear at a club, not something you'd hear on the radio or see on TV.

Meh, its terrible. Even the guys on the radio were like "yea its cool, just doesn't sound like a top radio song but its cool!" What is Gaga thinking?

Idk, Britney's worst song on Femme Fatal beats Judas.

When was the last time you heard Top 40? Judas is not even close to being the most club-like song (refer to Enrique's Tonight, coincidentally another RedOne production which peaked at #4, for a quick example).

lol all 12 main songs on Femme Fatale are amazing though.

Confirmed joke post. Hahah. Criminal is reeeaalllyyyyy bad.

This is kinda embarrassingly terrible tbh.

Reminds me when in Clone High, Ghandy and JFK had a hit with "G-Spot", and then had to follow it with something. This is like that other song they made.

The whole industry at this point is following the mantra that you need a dance song to have a top10 hit. Have you listened to the latest songs from Gaga, Britney, Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias, Jeniffer Lopez, Katy Perry, Chris Brown, Kesha, Black Eyed Peas, ...

Today, "dancey" music IS popular music. So I think you've got that wrong.

It just sounds more out there than her previous stuff.....and consequently more generic I guess. Not as driving, vocals are less harmonic and more droning. That weird bit from 2:45-3:17 sticks out.

I'm not really trying to predict the single's success, I just don't think it's got what previous hits did.

Personally I found Hold It Against Me's baseline both far more generic and more hardcore dancey (bordering 'too much' for a regular pop song to be successful with the masses). Yet it went on to be a number 1 hit.

So it really does seem that the public is ready for UNF UNF SEX IN GAY CLUB UNF beats in their songs, lol.
