LadyGAF Advises ManGAF

This is dumb. What do you want to do? Tell her. Going through the motions of a date just because you think that is what you should do is ritualistic nonsense.

You outright state your intentions because anything else is dishonest. The only thing I will add to that is that women love fantasy. Speak with passion but be direct about it.

If you're afraid to do that then you care what she thinks... which is completely backwards.

My ex once told me that going to the movies for a first date is something that a lot of girls don't enjoy (even though she liked it during our first date LOL). I know everyone is different, but I wanted to get LadyGAF's opinion on that particular first date destination.

If you want to get to know a person the movies is the wrong way to go. You're sitting there for 2 hours watching a screen. It's more of a thing to do when you're actually going steady or as something one of you suggests after a nice dinner.

Hell I even hate it when my friends come back from vacation, wanna hang out, and they're all "let's see this movie." I just tell them, uh I haven't seen you in months and you want to do something that involves everyone shutting up and staring at a screen?

park, museum, a nice place to eat, ice skating or roller skating, bike trip, hiking, swimming, bar....

those are a few I could think of off the top of my head.

Females aren't so hard to figure out.

Females do not all think and act the same. Shows you don't know much about them because you lump their thinking into "female brain" but let a female say "male brain" and I bet all the guys here would disagree with using that.

Opiate is my fav mod. :)

So after some rumination, I've decided to leave this thread open -- for now. But please know that this thread is now subject to especially harsh moderation. This thread is by its nature sexual, so I can't outlaw sexual discussions without outlawing this thread, but try to be sensitive.

Specifically, keep in mind that there are about 10 women on GAF who will openly admit to the fact that they are women, and about 50000 men who will do the same for their gender. It's very difficult to maintain a reasonable conversation in this incredibly male dominated arena. So, sensitive here does not mean, "Be sensitive to their feminine fragility," it means, "be sensitive to the fact that they are outnumbered 1000 to 1 by a bunch of nerdy, horny guys."

I am putting this warning in the OP. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or another mod. Thank you.

The bolded would be a great tagline for a horror movie.

you missed the whole point of this thread. No female here is trying to tell males how to live their life.

Let me break it down for you:

*There was a Girlgaf thread for girls to discuss girly topics in.

*Males would enter the thread and ask females in the thread on dating advice.

*A girl then opened this topic to prevent anymore dating questions to enter the Girlgaf thread.

*Now we have people who feel like their raging against the machine by posting comments like the one I'm quoting now.

It's pretty funny when they come in here and act like no one wants to hear what we have to say when the whole thread was made because we were getting hounded in the Girlgaf thread.

I'm not raging against anything. No one is ever honest about what they want. Instead most men think they have to buy a woman with gifts instead of becoming the sort of man that women are attracted to.

If other people want to engage in that silly game then so be it.

Where is this even coming from? Have you actually been in here long?

Give up on women, try men.

It comes from the realisation that people should be accepted for who they are instead of who they think they should be. It seems that most of the time people would rather believe in a non-existent fantasy than actual reality.

If you start a relationship based on lies then eventually the mask will slip and the truth will out.

What would a woman prefer: That a man is openly obvious about his sexual intentions from the very beginning (assuming that is what he wants) or that he string her along and pretend that he was interested in a relationship before dumping her after using her for sex?

No I'm asking where it's coming from in relation to the thread. I've seen some pretty open and honest answers from the women here.

Well go back to girlage then? If you don't care for our opinions or think it's futile, then don't bother with this thread.

Well, I like movies. I usually don't get the chance to see a new movie unless it's on a date, so that's always a welcome experience for me. Plus, I guess it adds a topic to the coversation. But I'm guessing that it's hard to find similar taste in movies and I suppose sitting in silence for almost two hours doesn't make for a good bonding experience if you haven't already known the person for a while.

Otherwise, I prefer going to cool new places to eat (old school diners and kitschy burjer joints) and cool stores (toy, comic book, book, video game stores.. haha).

When dancing with a girl, what signal do you look for to turn the dancing more... intimate? I tend to wait for the girl to make that decision - but I got scolded for that. But I don't want to just grab a girl close and make shit awkward.

Yes I am going to a club tonight (although I really don't like the 'scene' at this club, not my kind of girls).
If she's making eye contact and smiling and looks like she's enjoying herself, just inch in closer? If she's not moving back and away from you, you're probably in the clear. I am pretty sure if you move in closer and she looks at you and smiles, you are free to put your hands on her hips. Most girls dancing at a club are there to have a good time and are looking forward to having the guy make a move on them anyway.

Maybe I should ask an actual question to get away from all bitching? I've been spending a lot of time with a girl in my Math class at uni since the semester started, in and out of class. She's introduced me to some of her friends usually including how 'awesome' I am. However, this has led me to notice something, she acts quite differently around me than her other friends. If it was just around her friends she has had for years I'd understand, but she acts the same way around all her other friends even those she has known for less time than me. She doesn't really act as hyper or 'goofy' around me as she does around her other friends, she just seems more restrained overall, though it's not like she doesn't seem to have fun with me. She also doesn't lightheartedly make fun of me like she does with her other friends. I'd like to just chalk it up to her possibly liking me, but I'm more worried she feels uncomfortable around me or something.

What do you think ladygaf?

My opinion is that she probably likes you or thinks highly of you and doesn't want you to think poorly of her by her acting like a fool or making fun of you. So... hopefully you like her back, because these are good signs?

It helped that she really wanted to see Superbad, I guess.

If she had declined, then I probably would've taken her somewhere else, like Londa and Devo suggested. I do love a good trip to a park. Bonus if said park has a swing-set.

Yes, I love swing-sets. Who doesn't?

Ladygaf I need halp.
There's a girl I see every time when I close my eyes,
She has raven hair and amazing hips
She stutters as my penis enters her
From behind, can I find my one true love
Brett Ratner she always whispers
Go to the bathroom
And finish the job.

Man, fuck Brett Ratner, he's such a gimp.

Could say the same about guys? Plus, science can do wonders now, so I dunno -shrugs-

If guys didn't want the advise given here then the thread wouldve died a long time ago, but hey, they do because some are concerned about their methods about approaching women. That is all, no harm in that. If you dont need the advise, then don't bother. :/

Well I have more fun hanging out with her than I ever have with anyone else and she's the most beautiful girl I've ever met. So yeah, I hope you're right.

To be fair, it's Devo. And she finds way to have nerdy, disgusting men hate her. I don't know how she manages this, but she finds a way.

H'ok, women can be crazy because you might've missed some fundamental understanding in what she was telling... I wouldn't say it is most guys fault because sometimes the cues and clues left can be subtle, even when chicks thinks they aren't being subtle. so when you don't pick it up, they tend to go postal. -shrugs- that is what I gather when my lady friends talk to me about their boyfriend troubles, in which I try to tell them what they mean is not what is always interperated as such, depending on the details given but sometimes the guy is just being just as moody and jerky. Lol

Some girls have something personal with sports but some girls want to feel included and may not understand what's going on, but you dont want to have to explain the middle of a great play... so that could cause some disruption. If she is trying to make you do chores then calmly explain to her that it is something you like to do as a hobby, just like im sure she has hobbies that you don't always like and/or appreciate and would really appreciate if you could be left to watch it.

And i know not of this secret cult...

My favorite some pages back was when I was given shit for telling dudes where to meet single women. Sigh.

As someone who is pretty shy around people I don't know well, I think a movie date works better. You get to be close, hold hand etc without the awkwardness of being expected to chit chat. It would probably work well combined with dinner though too. But just going out for dinner with a new person would be really intimidating for me.

EDIT: my first date with my current bf was resident evil 3, which despite being pretty terrible had a few "eek! I need to hide! hold me!" kind of moments, so there's that :p

Comedy clubs can be great for a date. First date maybe not so much unless you know your partner, or call ahead to get an idea of the sort of the comedian performing.

ladygaf: so i went down on this girl like a week ago. i woke up the next day with a sore throat and a head full of snot. a week later, it has not subsided. is it possible to get a severe cold from licking vaginas? i'm confused right now. any advice would be appreciated.

I do not know... I thought a cold was more of a... respiratory thing.
But you probably kissed her at some point, right? Probably got the cold from there. lol

Should I bother texting this girl I haven't spoken to in about a year. New school year and we're both back at the dorms. We never really hung out but we had a class and usually just texted about that stuff. Whenever we happen to pass by each other we shared a basic "hey it's you!" smile/glance.

She has or had my number. I'm guessing if she was interested she'd contact me, right?

You're assuming women take initiative when they're interested in men. Most(read majority) don't, a girl covered this earlier in the thread.

If you're interested contact her. If she's not interested, create interest, if that doesn't work then move on.
