Finally listened to it this morning at the gym. Everyone on the show is trying way too hard. It resulted in me laughing, but at them instead of with them. The sad thing is it's getting worse with each passing week. I don't really get why they do the show anymore and it seems like they don't know either. It certainly isn't because they want to talk about PC games.

It was terrible. Why anyone would dedicate more than 5 minutes to Second Life is beyond me. I can't believe they actually talked about that "game" for so long.

That new girl needs to fix her attitude.

I don't know what this podcast is anymore but it ain't about pc games. They don't talk about mods, they don't talk about RTS, they talk about second life and warcraft....

Did they even mention the starcraft II video that's on blizzards' site?

Why was this even posted for download?

Unlistenable; unsubscribed.

by the end, i became convinced that anthony's express desire to "get it posted and out to the listeners" was to provoke a thread like this. he was clearly and vocally pissed by the time they were done, and i can certainly empathise.

If I am Anthony and Ryan, I just kill this thing for a month or so til they can figure out a crew that works, or just make some people play some damn PC games.

That's what gets me - a PC games podcast where no one is playing PC games.

I've got a stack of fresh, unplayed PC games waist-high, yet all they can find time to talk about are console games and Second Life.

i installed that second life shit because shawn and anthony were talking about it recently again. it's shit but strangely interesting and addicting. last night i came across a group of raptors....

i dont think sticking only to pc games will cut it with the lack of upcoming pc software and honestly i dont mind if they venture off into consoles or other stuff. however they should change up the games they talk about more. tina especially needs to put down the bong and explore the world outside of call of duty.

Is it just me or is anyone else seriously annoyed by how Tina continuously after making a remark about someone else she directly follows it up with a "just kidding".
It's like she seriously thinks the rest of the cast will be offended at her unless she says something too make sure they understood it was joke. They're not 10 years old.

Weird, normally I'm fine with Alice on the other podcasts I've heard her on, but she just killed this one. Tina doesn't really bother as much as other people here, and her little Mario 1 music diddy indicates she obviously has some gaming knowledge outside of CoD4 and L4D, the problem is that she never fucking uses it. I love both of those games, but I'm tired of hearing about them every goddamn week, and any other contributions she has are mostly jokes about her being high. I wouldn't even mind so much if when they were brought up each week it was with some new story, like "I had this awesome game of L4D last night where I etc," but it's not even that. I feel really bad because Anthony was obviously trying really hard to bring it back, and they just weren't letting him. I'm sorry dude, but unsubscribing as well :(

scope the steam sale thread, look at some of the hauls people have been dragging in and tell me that there isn't enough pc content there warrant a podcast. then take a trip around gamersgate.com - how many of those games have been already run into the ground?

leave 1up yours to their mastabatory I'VE GOT GEARS! WHO ELSE HAS PLAYED GEARS?! sessions, while a pc gaming podcast should acknowledge that there's more to the platform than shiny new releases with 10 million dollar advertising budgets.

infact, games like coh and civilisation have the timeless longevity and intricate depth to fill entire podcasts on their own - with ease. this is par for the course in pc gaming.

There haven't been any big PC releases lately, yet there has still be plenty of other stuff to talk about on other PC-related podcasts. I won't mention which one(s) since I don't intend to spark an argument or a rivalry, but there is stuff out there besides Second Life, COD4, L4D, and the Blizzard library.

i think the usual release date is thursday, although its been on a monday and a wednesday for the last two, respectively

You could have a weekly subject on tf2 mods and maps alone. Yet by listening to this podcast you'd think PC gaming is dead. The guys at 1upyours have an orgy over DLC for mirrors edge yet you get free custom maps for both crysis and tf2 that are sometimes better than the one's made by developers. And yet it goes unmentioned.

Shawn used to bring up stupid stories dicking around in gta:san andreas mods. That's a PC gamer.

Oh for fucks sake everyone, quit bitching about the podcast. It's free, and nobody is forcing you to listen to it.

I would think that the people running this podcast want the feedback. Otherwise, how would they know what works and what doesn't?

Haha that's a great pic.

Anyway, here is an idea...

Wouldn't it be awesome if they did an Infinity Engine-themed podcast?

A whole podcast based around Fallout, Fallout 2, Baldur's Gate (+ TotSC), Baldur's Gate II (+ ToB), Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale II, etc. (apologies if any of these are not actually IE, I didn't consult wikipedia beforehand, only my memory...)

Would that not be awesome! Come on, give me some validation!

Although Anthony might have to do this one solo to give it justice, but Matt and Bobito would probably be able to give some insight as well.

I just don't see something like this happening on Retronauts anytime soon...

I'm pretty sure it was Alice telling that story.

Alice just kept on interrupting everyone far far too much that it ruined the podcast. When Matt and Chill return all will be well.

Anthony could hardly hold back his hatred toward the end
I'm sorry, but could you clue me in on exactly what you mean? Believe it or not, I still haven't finished listening to the podcast. Thing is, I've already listened to 1up yours at least twice over, as well as Giant Bombcast twice. I mean, I feel bad admitting this but it's true. Another thing, I don't really game on PC, but I can understand how people who do play on PC can be upset about the lack of PC game talk. I don't think they've even discussed the awesome looking Black Mesa: Source mod coming next year, at the least talk about the trailer. That mod alone makes me want to get a new PC for it. Believe me, my PC right now sucks. Who or what did Anthony seem upset at?

Decent podcast, lacks charisma though. They really need to get a regular that carries the whole thing, because as much as I like Ryan, he really is incapable of carrying a show.

I guess Robert Ashley usually fills that role.

I think the main problem this podcast has is there is no one on it who generally loves pc games.

They may dabble with them from time to time, but no one wants to truly explore the uniqueness of games you can play on pc you can't get anywhere else.

Love or hate shawn, he usually brought some unique traits to the podcast because he generally loves pc gaming. You would get the popular PC talk on GFWradio, but he would bring some interesting things too like the realistic ww2 flight game that former pilots play, or the submarine game where you have to manually input your own coordinates. It was nice to hear about things you didn't get on all the other podcasts, but now this one just talks about the same things other podcasts have.....with worse detail.

There are people who hated Shawn?

I thought it was ok for a podcast when half the usual crew was out of the office. But yeah, it does seem to lack direction for the time being. Give it time people, they're trying to find their voice after Jeff and Shawn left. Those two are irreplacable, so I think we'll just have to get over that. Would be nice if they could Skype those two in sometime. Hint hint.

I just listened to this last night. I was laughing in bed when I heard Tina was like, "fuck ds, fuck ds" and then goes on and gets a DS and her first DS game is call of duty 4 :lol :lol

roses and puppies! rainbows and fireworks! smile people, god damn.

Jeff swoops in for the laughs again. If you ever stop writing Jeff, the world will be a worse place for it.

I agree it would be great to have a few people play and talk about a few games each week. If everyone has a Steam press account, just play some of the games like iFluid or World of Goo and maybe Elephunk on PSN and talk about them. :)

Just give it some time and have faith. They will bring it together! They started off with a bang with X-13D or whatever, and only started to lose steam in the past month or so. Here's hoping there will be a comeback.

that greatest penny arcade comics thread here has gotten me to go back and read the early ones

if they can turn such a shitty web comic into a great one and into a brand that has its own conventions and shit, then fuck, maybe lan party does have a chance
