Have at it. I don't care because I havent seen a new bond movie since casino royale and the only thing about that I liked was mads mikkelsen.
Bond started turned to shit with Timothy dalton, then it had a brief return with goldeneye, and then after that went back down hill in a variety of ways and never recovered. And anymore with Hollywood pandering to social trends I doubt I'll ever be interested in bond again.
It was the Pierce Brosnan era where I noticed the Bond films. I was too young to care about spy stuff during the 80's. I absolutely didn't care about any of the Brosnan films though as they were too over the top and there for didn't care about Bond. It was the Daniel Craig films that made me sit up and take notice, Casino Royale is brilliant and Quantum of Solace was at least entertaining.
Due to my new found interest in the character I went back and watched all of the Bond films a few years ago and I do agree with you on the Timothy Dalton comment, both his films and Brosnan's are the worst. Connery, Moore and Craig are all excellent, even good old Lazenby was great to watch.
As for this new "social pandering", if you are to take the article in the first page as the official source, it's not really an official source. People in this thread are trying to palm it off as "advertising" and "marketing material" but none of it has been advertising and never was, It's all been "insider sources" saying this and that, the author can twist words and misquote however they like to stir up controversy. There may never have been a source involved for all we know.
If there is any
actual marketing material please correct me though.
*EDIT*
Even I got sucked in and got annoyed at the article to start with.
