syndra being somewhat popular right now is making midlane pretty bad for everyone heh
Sometimes, the midlane is just too heavy to carry. Even with four arms, two of them giant.
the funniest thing about that game was the premade team made like 7 failed pushes into our base, several of them when we had 3 inhibs down. The main reason we lost was because Syndra got caught out in mid and forced a teamfight while I was splitting at their bot inhib.

tbh the big problem with syndra in solo queue is that people just don't know how to play with her on their team.
like she excels at picks, just lemme hide in the brush and kill someone, then get the objective. don't force dragon teamfights on me when the enemy mid is gragas.
but yea if you feed in lane with syn against gragas you suck

Eh, Riven has a lot of uses for Flash, even after the removal of her Q-Flash trick.
You also should have went for the earlier Hydra if you were that ahead since the added burst is a lot better than whatever item you probably rushed (+ it smooths out her animations, allowing for faster kills / less damage taken and faster splitpushing).
Also, that kind of lead needs to be pressured hard. Not much reason to not just split it off while your team does their thing. Your team can siege okay with just the four of them and easily forces picks when they send 2/3/4 to you. You're a better asset not in a 5v5 teamfight here, really.

practice it whenever you feel like it, there's nothing much to it, buy a couple wards, ward up, push to turret and then hide. if you see someone come then either ambush them or group with your team, if nobody comes you can take the turret. it's ideal if you have an easy way to go back to your team, like tp, shen or panth ult, etc.
just make sure your team won't get slaughtered 4v5 (aka they have good disengage and waveclear or you're not disgustingly far behind and they can just dive them like nothing) and that you won't get a bad turret trade if they do keep pushing

I wasn't too keen on her design at first because she looked super uninspired coming next to Diana, but all the fanart sold me on her. I just wish she had a different color scheme.
Just always split push. Blame everyone else when it fails.
Seriously though, it's fairly dependent on comp v comp for when it's most effective. There's just some champions that transition really well into being a split pushing force if they get their lead (e.g., Riven). Ultimately, the idea is that since you won your lane hard enough, you're un-1v1-able so you're going to be 2/3v1 but you're also slippery enough to not just flat out die when they do come. This frees up your team to do things (push a different lane, take an objective, force a fight in their favor) while you're off doing your own thing.
On top of that, you need the ability to escape when unsafe so you don't just die for no gain while also getting something for your efforts (e.g., a kill, damage on an objective). Worst case scenario is you dying and the team doing nothing but I'd still say that it's on you to make sure you don't die: You split pushing and nothing occurring on the map is "okay" if you're not dying from it. Losing an opportunity is infinitely better than giving up an advantage and allowing for the comeback.
Also, ward. Know the ward spots that give you the most vision and reaction time. For instance, top lane split pushing, you're probably not going to want a ward just at top-tri bush when you're at the inner tower. There's multiple routes you can be hit from still. Having vision for both routes near the red buff gives you better time to react.

you can think of it as an extension of your laning phase. like scy said if you're far enough ahead that it takes more than one people to deal with you then you can ward up and just be a pushing force for your team and that'll create a lot of pressure for someone else to come, either jungler or mid laner.
if you're more of a teamfighting champion (like malph) or you can't duel too well (malph again lol) then you're probably better off just grouping with your team and forcing objectives. but if you're like renekton or riven or zed or shen, you're game

The one day I wanted to play was the day of downtime.
On a side note, I've had a support case open with Riot for like 3 weeks now related to my friends list. The "invite to game" option is always greyed out for every single friend. I haven't been able to invite anyone to a game in over a year. Finally decided to open a case about it and I get them asking for silly things like if my windows clock is in sync sigh.
The latest batch of suggestions has me disabling ipv6, switching to a public DNS, disabling windows firewall completely (not just turning it off sigh), and syncing my windows clock to a different time server.
Annoying. I think I'm going to have to load up League on my laptop again and see if the issue persists.
The one day I wanted to play was the day of downtime.
