Why would NOJ need to look outside of their own company to do fluent English presentations? Folks like Bill Trinen have been doing that for years.
'Im willing to believe that it's called "The Legend of Zelda" and that its a reboot. The way the game world looks already gives me Zelda 1 vibes.
It's been speculated this could be a reboot anyway, hasn't it?
So, just got off the phone with my third cousin twice removed who empties the trash bins for Nintendo. He said that he saw a document that said that the Wii U Zelda game will be called The Story of Link and it's set in an alternate timeline from all the other zelda games and Link is the prince of hyrule because they wanted this to be a brand new start for the zelda series and they thought too many people thought link's name was zelda due to the old name.

I'm not saying that there's any solid evidence to back any of this up just yet, and I do think that there will be a subtitle of some sort, but they could treat this as a sort of reboot with Skyward acting as the main info dump as it literally explains everything.
I think this information merits its own thread
I've seen others claim this, their reasoning being that this Link looked like SS's Link and Zelda's child...
This is not information.

I would make one, but i can't.
I registered with my master university student mail address.
Seems like i don't have the rights to make a thread.
I'm really beginning to dislike Nintendos decision to overexpose their Zelda titles. First Wind Waker HD now this?
Given Nintendo's recent streak of horrible/unimaginative names for their games and consoles, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just called The Legend of Zelda. Or New Legend of Zelda. Or possibly The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword U.
Shikata There was even talk of calling it The New Legend of Zelda like there's New Super Mario! (laughs)
This is not information.
I heard something very interesting from a friend of mine.
My friend's older sister is working with representatives of companies so they can do fluent presentation in English, when English is not their mother tongue.
I know that she did actually worked with Nintendo before, but I'm not 100 percent sure, if my friend is tricking me with the following information, or if it is an actual information he got from his sister.
Of course this is a small information, because my friend's sister is not really allowed to tell anything about her work, but she told him the following:
She is working and had a first meeting with Eiji Aonuma and it seems that the meeting is already about a Zelda-WiiU-presentation at E3.
It seems like Zelda WiiU's title will just be "The Legend Of Zelda".
It replaces the first Zelda-Game on NES in the timeline.
But it is a completely new game.
I'm sorry, but that is all a got. But it is interesting information in my opinion.
Please no. That basically screams: do whatever you like in the world we created for you but don't expect anything like a storyline or any depth. Sounds like a simple sandbox game if true which would be horrible..

Well, Skyward Sword was basically a prologue of the entire series, so it would make sense to have this be the first game with the Link that follows the Skyward Sword Link, as well as Ganon's first actual appearance.

Did he keep the document???

Illogical evidence aside I could see it taking place after Skyward Sword, it makes a lot of sense.
It's your choice to care about the timeline. I've completely ignored it even when Nintendo released the official timeline. I don't think about how Zelda U is going to be limited by past titles, I think of the things that Nintendo can do to create a great new Hyrule.I liked it better when we didn't care about the timeline.

So... 1988?
Ignore the last sentence, talk about how it's wrong for Link and Zelda to hook up!![]()
Well...you can find a Wii U for far lower than that, like the $200 refurbished Nintendo are selling, there was even a sale at SEARS for less than $100.So I was at Target today looking at 3DS stuff and realized the WiiiU is still $300.00.
Fucking seriously? The XBO and PS4 are regularly dipping down that low on sale... This thing needs to be 250-200 by now..
I maintain that unless ZeldaU is amazing, or the price hits like 150-175, I won't be buying a WiiU. The hardware is way too outdated for that asking price...
At any rate. Been playing a ton of OoT3D on my 3DS, and have the MMXL ordered. These games simply had a magic that IMO hasn't been recaptured since. (Although WW had its moments).
If ZeldaU can recapture even a fraction of that Magic, it will make the system worth owning IMO.
Yeah... i dont believe this, not one bitI heard something very interesting from a friend of mine.

So I have a problem - Link and Zelda can NEVER hook up at the end of the story, right, folks? Or at least, no two generations can hook up. It's implied that all Links are descendants of the original Link, ditto for Zelda. Which means, if they ever, at any point in the timeline, hook up, then all future iterations will be related to each other.
However, it also seems implied to me in multiple games that Link and Zelda are at least semi-attracted to each other. Then you throw in the whole Zelda II bit about how the "Original Zelda had a sleeping curse put on her years ago and all princesses since have been named Zelda in honor of her" thing and... it hurts my head.
I liked it better when we didn't care about the timeline.
In my opinion, that does not sound fun.First Zelda was best Zelda. I want this to basically just be a 3D version of the way that Zelda played.
I don't think it'll replace that game in the timeline though, and I don't think it'll just be called The Legend of Zelda. I'm guessing one of the big things will be the return of Ganondorf. Dude's been gone from the main series for just under a decade.
usually Nintendo's developers have treehouse people translating for them

I really don't think we're going to get a Zelda where you have to burn down every tree, bomb every rock, and push random blocks to find all the secrets.
I think the sentiment of any "make it like Zelda 1 comment" is "more overworld, more enemies, more dungeons where it's tough to get to the end, less one-sided combat, fewer arbitrary hoops, and less peripheral filler" - what exactly doesn't sound fun about that?
I agree completely. Except for Zelda II where they totally do.
