LEGO |OT 3| Build Hard. Buy Fast. No Mercy.

I built JEK-14's Stealth Starfighter (75018) over the weekend, and man...this was probably my favorite build since the Death Star (10188) or Slave I (8097). 550 pieces, retails at $70 USD, but is currently on sale for $62 on Amazon.

As you probably know, this ship came from the Yoda Chronicles, so it's a completely original LEGO design. It's obvious that the designer really had a blast creating this thing. There is so much variety throughout the entire build, with some really fun SNOT techniques along the way. I completed it in one fast and furious sitting, enjoying it more and more as I went on.

A comparable build would be the 9493 X-Wing, but JEK-14's ride has way more interesting wings, nose and cabin. The bricks themselves are mostly red and black, which is a welcome relief from the mostly greys of most Star Wars ships:

I haven't even mentioned the minifigures, which are also unique and fantastic. But when we're talking about a black and red Star Wars ship that's shaped like a Klingon bird of prey starship, do I even have to? A++ recommended!

Just a little nitpick here, it's an e-wing, so it's not an orirignal lego design.

Was hyped for Sea Cow but putting everything in perspective I think I need some reviews two sell me on it now. I mean im interested in that AT AT set, Benny's Spaceship and Imperial Star Destroyer and I could get 2 of them for one sea cow. On the otherhand I really don't want to get sucked into SW Lego. Hopefully Sea Cow will be around for a bit.

need a B/S/T for lego. Need to get shot of my unopened highway haulers, fire temple and 2x helms deep, along with an opened and built once Sopwith Camel to help fund future lego, especially a potential Benny spaceship and ISD

Wizard Battle and Council of Elrond. I could care less about Wizard Battle because I already have the scene in Orthanc. But when I only have about $40 worth of sets to get to reach 100%, I might as well finish it all off.

Elrond is a cool set, mostly because it's a natural home to put the entire Fellowship.

Just opened the Sea Cow box, The instruction booklet is a little different as its all one book so its really thick. It isn't spiral bound though so we shall see how it works. Its also not as hard bound as the architecture sets fortunately, so maybe i won't have to break the binding.

Nice, liking the sound of that manual. Not sure when I'll pick up the cow, either wait for an upcoming double VIP event... Or maybe I'll just break down. :)

No breakdowns today, bit I did pick up two 30300 tumbler polybags. One of my targets finally put them out. Up near the registers.

Also, sea planes 50% off in the seasonal isle.

So jealous. Really want one of those to go with wetwired's minifig-scale Tumbler :)

Off-topic, but Simpsons fans should really check out The Simpsons: Tapped Out. It's a free city builder game on mobile devices and the LEGO fan in me gets the same satisfying addictive feeling from customizing my own Springfield on my iPad :)

On-topic: I just caved and bought Jabba's Sail Barge. I already have the Skiff, Palace and Pit so I might as well get the Barge too. I blame Max Rebo. And Amazon's awesome sales.

Jek 14s fighter was so good I ended up buying a second one.
haha that is awesome.

Only did bag 1 so far so I could build mini-metalbeard. I have to say the mini version of him is really really cool. It uses those new articulation joints and I've gotta say, now I am going to have to go out and buy some of those mixels sets so I can get more. Their potential is huge.

The Sail Barge is great, I bought mine during Christmas sales and just put it together a few days ago. It has a lot to it for its size and I felt that it represents the movie barge very well. Scale wise it works perfect with the other sets too if your setting up a Tatooine Diorama shelf like I am for display. I have a shelf for Tatooine and for Hoth. Pretty much the only one I don't have is Endor (for major locations)(also don't have anything set up for Cloud City or Dagobah). I didn't pick up the shield-base set from a few years back in time so all I have is a few speeder sets and battle packs. Never got any of the ewok sets either. I plan on fixing that by getting Ewok Village eventually.

Im going to get the superhero sets in one order for the mm fig. Need to get Riddler Chase, Manbat and Joker steamroller.

I'm gonna try to get two MM when I go in. Sea Cow, go to car, eat lunch, go back, find $75 more stuff (not hard at all, especially when I need a lot of the Super Hero 2014 sets still). Not sure if there is an official policy on this but my LEGO store hasn't given me any trouble when I've accidentally done this before, but this time I'm gonna intentionally do it, cause that's one BA minifig!

Ended up getting the Super Cycle and some clearance pink tub for my daughter. Will have to wait til the Martian Manhunter for Simpsons or Sea Cow

Just did a huge bricklink order so I can try and finish the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, So far I only have half a torso and a head. I ran out of pieces after I got that far. I'm not sure how I'm gonna do the legs and arms.

Got the urge already to re-arrange my LEGO hobby room. I switched the tables to the opposite wall and I will just have a wall of shelves from the door entry to the far wall. Going to move the stamp collection to my bedroom. I made some neat changes to how I displayed the sets on the shelves. When I get a hold of a camera I will take pictures of the new arrangements. I do think it looks much better now.

You're missing Kashykk troopers which is the best battle pack ... and this is coming from someone who doesn't like the PT.

I'll be getting all of the SW sets - it's my main theme - but I'm holding off on the rest until I can take advantage of the May the 4th minifig promo.

Today was about getting the Microfighters, and one each of a set with the new stud-blasters and spring-loaded shooters.

Well... they had it built at the LEGO store. It is gorgeous in-person. Could not resist.

hellz yeah :)

I am going to continue building my Sea Cow while watching the Olympics tonight. It was on display at my local store as well and it does look really really nice. I was really blown away by how awesome it looked despite it having that short stubby design. I think the look works really well for the fantasy steampunk style. I really love how the sails are made and if you had any doubts about using those parts for sails, lose them, cause it really really works.

Saw a few Lego sets on clearance at a nearby Wal Mart including several Galaxy Quest sets, Battle for Smallville and that Gorilla Mech set. Anyone interested in any of them?

Rumor time!

75059 Sandcrawler to be revealed at Bricks Cascade (we knew that one already), and is a BIG playset, rather than a UCS model.

New Creator Expert Fairground set this summer - similar to the Grand Carousel from 2009.

Mini (as in Mini Cooper) with pre-2000 design as new Creator Expert, a la the T1 Volkswagen, or the earlier VW Beetle.

Wow Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! looks awesome!

Hmmm I wonder if the fairground will replace a modular?
