As many have been reporting, amazon has had a wave of good discounts today.

I think the new Sandcrawler design, at least the limited look we have of it so far, is a big improvement over 10144 from 2005.

damnit i KNEW it!! I won't get my Martian Manhunter after all!

Of course Germany is the ONLY country worldwide where they show the Lego Movie somewhat later so they are doing their movie promo NOW and no MM. I really hope it will still come next month or else i'll have to aftermarket bricklink him :(((

My wife and I decided it's time to organize and rebuild our Lego collection. We're going to completely disassemble the remains of about 150 sets, put them in their own bins, then rebuild them from scratch. We just can't decide if we want to do the smaller or larger sets first.

She wants all of the Lego Harry Potter sets to decorate her desk area and we think we may display the rest in our media room based on theme but are not sure. They may end up in the library. We want the kids to have easy access to them for play and a dedicated spot to have them put back when finished. My two girls really, really love Lego!

That's the other one. I couldn't remember the name of it. Already got Rescue Reinforcements because of a TRU sale, but Target and WalMart are so spotty with selection and sales I am just going to get the last two exclusives. Must save up for double VIP though.

These look very much like LEGO minifigs from what I can see. I just hope they are better quality than the super cheap Chinese LEGO knockoffs.

No if they only would do Angels and the Devil.

EDIT: They do have angels for nativity set. Interesting they use a 1x2 block for the robe look. Ugh, they have the ugly knockoff legs, but only 1 has them. The rest are wearing robes.
The nativity set is weird. They have some minifigs flesh colored and some yellow.

My 9-year-old son has decided to build a robot for his school's science fair at the end of the month, and I've been looking at the new Mindstorms EV3, which looks like the best option. Thoughts?

Any sales/coupons I could use to get a set? Amazon.com only knocks it down a nickle to $349.95.

I finshed 70703 Star Slicer and this is bigger and heavier than I thought which is cool. Instead the vehicle ended up being smaller than what it looked like on picture.

All in all I like the theme, not so much all the colors but the designs.

Agreed. One thing about plates vs bricks is it looks a little less like a kid just slapped it together, cuz... that's what the old Sandcrawler looks like.

Just got back from my LEGO Store jaunt. Picked up Flying Flusher (only one they had left), Easter Bunny, Vulk Mixel, two small PAB, and one large PAB.

PAB selection was very limited, but they had green 1x4 tiles, which was nice. Also tons of trans 1x2 plates and 1x2x2 clear pieces, so I stocked up on those. Grabbed a ton of white chair pieces, so now I should have plenty in white and red. The most interesting piece they had was black 1x1 with studs on all four sides. Grabbed a handful of those, but not too many. If it had SNOT on only one side I would have made a cup of nothing but that.


Talking to the staff there, they said the Simpsons house is doing okay, but they don't understand the appeal. But they did say that the Sea Cow was doing gangbusters for them. And looking at the set in person, it looks glorious. Definitely the double VIP purchase.

I really wanted a Bale Batman too because I'm weirdly proper about that... cartoon Batman can't fight Tom Hardy, dammit!

I know, and I agree.

Rumor is that the set will just be the Sandcrawler, but that there are additional minifigs included that are not part of that picture.

That's still just a rumor though...

Built Vulk Mixel. Really cute lil guy, and I love the little black creature that comes with it.
But those small ball joint pieces are the big game changer. So many applications for MOCs later.

And the Martian Manhunter figure is as awesome as expected. I need to get the Artic Batman set just to get Aquaman. Then we will only be missing Green Lantern to get the best JLA team.

Just saw they have minifig accessory (battle) packs for Castle theme in my LEGO store run. $15 each.



Talked to one of the brick specialist and I heard something about an amusement park set. I recall there was some brief discussion in this thread. Anyone recall the details?

Just that there will be one this year, and it will be along the lines of the Grand Carousel, but maybe not that high of a piece count...

"Artic" Hehe.

Aquaman gets a bad rap. I think his minifig is awesome and quite studly. WTF is up with the lack of Green Lantern minifig! Just saw the movie for the first time last night and it wasn't bad. Something was off, but it had a few good moments. The guy that played SInestro nailed it.

Don't underestimate Aquaman!

Man, one set I would love to be able to get is LEGO Shuttle Expedition 10231. I'm thinking of buying second hand. What is a good price to look for it at? Its ~$250 on Amazon.

They had the clown birthday set as well as the bride and groom set for $8 each at the store today. Almost bit.

They also had one Winter Village Market that someone returned. It was still full price, so I am going to wait for Oct and snag it with the new one too.

Oh man, there are some awesome deals on LEGO S@H.

The Vampyre Hearse for $9. You'd probably have to pay that much just for the minifigs on Bricklink or EBay.

I went to the LEGO store for the first time this year and finally got to see the three sets I want: Sea Cow, The Simpsons House and Parisian Restaurant. All of them look good, but holy crap at how huge Sea Cow is. I was planning on buying that to display in my office but good god. It's way bigger than I thought it was going to be. I came away empty handed though surprisingly. It was hard to not pick something up.

I think I'm going to order Palpatine's Arrest, but I also don't want to spend for shipping if theres another cool, discounted set I can buy to bring my total to $75. The only other modern sets I have are Back to the Future and The Simpsons.

Get some of the seasonal sets, like the Easter Bunny one. Or maybe some Mixels. The Mixels are amazing for impulse buying. $5 a pop, and totally cool.

Sweet good call! I'm adding the Valentine's Bear and Easter Bunny. I also add the Hurst since its another highly discounted item and I love me a discount! The Mixels look like a blast but I'll save'em for next time when I need an order boost :)

Just built the Easter Bunny set. Really great set, and worth every penny of the $10 price. VERY highly recommended, and would make a great desk accessory. Their seasonal items this past year have been tip top.

No, they look like the customs done by the guy who is known for his custom technic cars. He releases the part lists and instructions, but I think he charges for them. Not crazy expensive, but he uses some crazy rare parts. I remember looking into one of his Ferrari or Porsche that he did...Some of the parts are from the original race car. I think there are substitutes, but who knows. I gave up when I realized he was building with a crazy parts list.

Well got my 5th set just since seeing the movie, which is like my first time buying Lego in about 10 years(well besides 2 Indy sets that were ridiculously cheap clearance at walmart a few years back)
Got the Batcave today, the Batmobile and Freeze sets a few days ago.
Along the movie Melting room and Cycle sets.

Holy shit at Target's selection. Walmart has just half a single shelf for Lego, Target had 3 entire aisles.
