LEGO |OT 3| Build Hard. Buy Fast. No Mercy.

I agree. They are cute but I have zero interest in them; I bought Zorch but wasn't impressed enough to continue down that path. Honestly I am kind of glad about it.

In other news, I can build!

The hospital fitted me with this monstrosity yesterday. I can make a fist, and this device allows my fingers to return to their normal position from the fist. First order of business was to feel out some Simpsons figs, and I was 4/4. Still got it.

Long term prognosis is still totally up in the air but at least I can pick things up!

And yes, my children's friends fear it.

Great news!

And for the record, I've bought 7/9 of the mixels and Zorch is absolutely the worst one so far. There's very little redeeming about him. Bland, uninspired, no interesting techniques, and I think he has fewer pieces too.

I wouldn't even get him if it weren't for completeness' sake.

I just got my Hulks from China. They are fantastic! Totally worth it once they are assembled and sitting next to all the other Super Heroes!

STOP IT!

I'm interested in these for the Red and Grey Hulks but I really want purple pants from the Hulk Lab Smash. I need to get that set anyways for all the other cool figs so thats keeping me from getting these hulks.

Can't wait for the sets I ordered to check them out, can finally put Green Arrow with my Justice League.

Great news that you've got some movement in the hand again. Your story is really scary but you seem to be coping with a hell of a lot more sanely than I would be.

Also I've just bought the Ghost train. I don't know when I'll get round to building it but I love going to scout eBay for some cheap other Monster fighter sets so I can build a big diorama in October. I've been inspired ;-)

Great buy!! I think i'm in the minority but I LOVE that set. The plane is meh but I still have that assembled on display it just looks so cool. Helps that i'm a big FF fan and it reminds of Sabin vs. Phantom Train.

SUPLEX!

They're opening a Legoland discovery center near me. Adult Fan Night is June 18th so I guess I know what I'm doing then.

I know I can't get into the attractions without kids, but do these places let childless adults stop in the store? They are dangerously close to me if so.

Just so you know: These centers are not connected with the Lego company, the stores at these centers are not official Lego stores and do not accept Lego cash nor do they accept the Lego ViP card for points on purchases.

A bit off-topic, but if you haven't heard - LEGO-GAF alumni Gary Whitta will be writing the screenplay for the first standalone Star Wars film, due out December 16, 2016.

Congratulations Gary! This must be a dream job for you.

Create some vibrant worlds for us, full of interesting characters and cool vehicles, that LEGO can then work their magic with.

So, watching the LEGO movie, i took a closer look at the Spaceship, seeing if there are any differences. Only one I can find is Space Unikitty's holding mount is simplified on the final model.

Unacceptable good thing I didn't buy it.
I really want it, but I also want the GotG sets and cant afford all this, why did I come to this thread a couple weeks ago buying a couple mixels and now I want all this expensive stuff :(

The "LL929" stickers are on the wrong sides - both the front and back sets.

The area under the dish & robots is all yellow for some reason.

The far side back LL929 sticker is correct. Which makes me wonder if the front one is as well, and they used the same brick asset on both sides...

Magnets are awesome :D

For the some reason the Spaceship doesn't connect with me at all!
I never had any of that stuff, I had space police and Ice planet sets instead.

Ninjago Movie coming to theaters Sep. 23, 2016.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/warner-bros-sets-release-date-706096

I guess that theme is going to continue - unless they take a year off.

I'm sure they will take a year off. Ninjago fever has cooled off already. It doesn't help the new season has huge gaps between episodes. My kids are interested in watching the show, but aren't into the sets anymore. Brick specialists at LEGO store say Ninjago sets aren't flying off the shelves like they used to before the series "ended".

My guess is they'll tie the sets in with the movie after a break from this latest Ninjago wave.

I tortured myself while on lunch break at work tonight. I went into TRU and walked around. They had series 2 Mixels, and all the new LEGO Movie sets. It hurt to see them and not be able to get them. Thank god the next wave of Star Wars stuff like the AT-AT weren't there, then the torture would have been magnified.

That's rough, man :(
On a side note, did you manage to get the Darth Revan minifig ? I still have a spare I can send you if you like.

That's how it starts: I bought the $14 TMNT set sometime last fall and cant stop. Bought a mixel today and a few Simpson's minifigs a few days ago, just biding time until Benny's Spaceship. Funny enough I just found out a few nights ago while playing cards that a coworker friend of mine bought the batman tumbler polybag impulsively at Target recently and now feels shes gonna end up spending a lot on Legos.

http://toysnbricks.com/usa-summer-2014-lego-polybags-finds/

I feel ripped off now on the Super Secret Police Enforcer. I got a ton at TRU at $4.99 (can't remember if there was a sale though). Of course, that's hindsight since it's not typical for TRU polybag "exclusives" to resurface at another retailer.

Movie LEGO 30282 Super Secret Police Enforcer

$3.99 at Target stores
$4.99-$5.49 at Toys R Us stores

I need me some of that Chima spider polybag. Wonder which other retailer will carry it as there is no Meijer's around me.

I paid £60 for it, which is RRP but I'm fairly happy as it seems to sell for eBay.

So I've now got 3 sets which I'm trying to complete. Batman (Just all the different figs for him and the villans), the Lego Movie (I've got a ton of sets to still buy but time is on my side with that one) and Lord of the Rings (I got an unexpected gathering a couple of months ago and picked up gandalf arrived yesterday on eBay, I just need to collect the rest of the figs now. I don't think there are any other sets that would go with bag end and I don't care that much about the hobbit)

My order is still stuck somewhere in italy. I've placed the order the 25th of april and the 8th of may was the last tracking note as 'flight departed'

Next time i'll pay something more for a dhl courier and never again have to bother with this kind of problems

Holy cow, i'm so glad to not be in anything star wars related. This could have been me in 10 years!

I had the classic space stuff, and I still don't feel the new one much.

I'm the same - I don't like the new one as much as I hoped.

Interestingly(?) the set that gave me the biggest childhood flashbacks was the Buzz lightyear spaceship my children bought for me.

I doesn't look much like classic space, but when putting together the back hinged part and rocket engines, it felt very similar (to me!)

I'm really considering the Sopwith Camel set. The more I look at it the more I think it looks fantastic. What's the consensus about that set, Lego-GAF ? Worth MSRP ?

HUGE. I was just looking over his Flickr at all the LEGO pics he has there. Including... yes... lots of SW LEGO stuff.

He has pics taken at Bricks by the Bay 2012! Just a reminder. Bricks by the Bay 2014 is coming up in Aug!

Small world sometimes. Really excited about the future of SW!

Glad to hear that you are up and building!

LOL, even with a claw you are better at feeling the CMF bags than I am.

How precise can you manipulate your fingers with it? Could you do a micro-build?

Thanks!

I have a pretty good range of motion, but typing is still tough. I actually built the Coruscant Police Gunship last night. I was even able to do the stickers so I definitely feel more empowered than I have in the last 5 weeks!

I love the Gunship btw. The mechanism for opening the cockpit is really neat, and the build was interesting in a few spots. Great Clone Troopers too.

I knew I shouldn't have started watching Clone Wars on Netflix. It's already cost me too much money.

I cannot believe that with all the advances in medical science we've made, that thing is the best they can come up with. It looks like something from medieval times! All those rickety joints and leather slings with crazy string pulleys, unbelievable there's not some kind of slick, futuristic Power Glove looking thing by now that hides all the exposed wires and metal framing.

I really hope you have a quick recovery, but in the meantime I'm glad to hear that contraption is helping you regain normal functions in your hand! I would probably die and turn into dust if that ever happened to my right hand D:

Thank you, and yeah it is crazy how medieval the splint looks! After spending the time with the occupational therapist who built it though, I don't think it would be easy to engineer a more attractive pre-built one. Every single aspect and connection is custom to my hand.

My hand naturally rests at "Kid's head level". When I was at the dance studio picking up my two ballerinas on Wednesday there were three separate occasions where a kid ran around the corner, saw the contraption and yelped. It was hilarious.

Ghost Train & Constitution Train are both on my perpetual radar for sales. I scan them in every time I see either just to see if they've been marked down but not advertised!

Great news!

Interesting feedback about Zorch. I am going to stay away from the others though...I know my tendencies.

Already done!

This was available at TRU Canada a couple of months ago. A friend picked one up for me but I haven't gotten it from him yet...

Wife Makes Husband Sell 661-Pound LEGO Collection With Threat Of Divorce

Photo (below) they used in the post is unrelated to the story, but it's pretty cool.

massive-star-wars-lego-collection.jpg

I love how all the sets, even the ginormous UCS sets are crammed with other sets while Grievous is all by his lonely self. He's not very friendly, is he? Lol. How in the world is that UCS Snowspeeder sitting on the shelf like that?!? Is it mounted?

As for the story, thankfully my wife is understanding enough to let me keep my collection...for now. Even though I have far less than what this person has, it would still hurt if she made me choose though.

The Tumbler and SS Police Enforcer polybags are $4.89 at both Targets near me. I hate how some Targets are starting to act like TRU when it comes to pricing Lego.

I have it and i must say that it is one of the best display set ever, but the building experience is quite annoying apart for the flaps mechanism

So after a few trips to Target to take advantage of the videogame trade in deals AND a ton of thinking about what set to get... I decided to go with the Town Hall modular. My reasoning was it was the most expensive modular that is in stock that I need and it is about to be retired. I really wanted the Haunted House of the Emporium... but maybe I can get one of those for Fathers Day. I still have 30 bucks in Target gift cards... So I may be picking up Watch Dogs or Mario Kart 8 next week!

It's the least flashy decision IMO, but a smart one if your end game is to get them all.

From series 2, I am liking Slumbo and Lunk from the Frosticons, for the use of the blue helmets for the eyes, and the frost lightning bolts respectively. I also like getting all these shades of blue.

For the Fang Gang, my main interest is in Jawg, because he looks like a dog.

And then I like all of the Flexers, because they look like sea creatures. And solid orange caps!

Series 3 is looking like it will have some great ones as well.

I've already purchased all the Series 2, but I haven't built any yet, since I built all of the Series 1 in one session last week. Giving myself a break on them until I start Series 2.

Anybody remember Blur (I think was the name) from the old animated Transformers the movie? That blue color would be soooo perfect for a moc of him. If I had any skill at something like that I would be all over it.

That's rough, man :(
On a side note, did you manage to get the Darth Revan minifig ? I still have a spare I can send you if you like.

Neonglow is being a saint and holding onto one for me until I can afford to get a set and send something his way for it. I truly do appreciate you all. We are a great group looking out for each other.

Get it. Very much worth MSRP. It is a very good build, but nothing that wowed me as the build progressed. It just looks so damn great when finished though. A giant, hulking display beast.
