$20 for the Spaceman from BL? Hmmmm

amazon. bricklink could be cheaper i need to look into that. But if you are going through bricklink you have TONS of spaceman choices so why limit yourself to this particular one when he's not even got the most authentic looking helmet

I also just got off the phone with LEGO. Very nice and easy to talk to.

My order is under review right now but my back ordered Exo-Suits won't ship until the 15th. :(

Edit: Just realized I'll still be in Texas on the 15th, so it doesn't matter!
Did you get a email? Cause on my end even after talking to them and the lady saying they would resend the order confirmation I still don't have it.

Just finished Research Institute. You could easily make two of the vignettes just by looking at the box. The skeleton would be tougher to eyeball.

Very cool, simple set with lots of personality. Nothing mind blowing, but still worth getting for what it is.

Check out this LEGO Movie Activity Booklet (near 1m:50s), I guess you can get these at LEGO retail stores right now

as long as i get a shipping confirmation i'm not going to worry about it further.

So the Lego S@H site says Exo Suit just out of stock re-stock in 30 days so the consensus is they are probably making another run then? If so awesome because I should finally be getting my back pay in about 2 weeks.

And Wowzers, Sept. Classic Spaceman figure is freebie AND Tumbler releasing so I know what i'm going to be getting with some of my back pay check on Sept. 1st!!!!!!!!!

Everything is Awesome!

I don't know if that's the best idea because a lot of orders placed today won't ship for 30 days... that does give people time but the set would still be in limited availability supposedly

It was discussed that the next contest would be theme-based rather than set-based wasn't it?

Like say give people a one word or phrase to go with like "Space" and let people run with it. Could also set a size/rough piece count limit or other guidelines.

I'd like a themed contest because I don't think I can buy any more Lego right now. I bought a lot and I just got back into it....

Ok, to everyone wondering about the status of their order and the lack of email, my order for the exosuit(s) now shows as "sent" on the S@H... and I didn't get any confirmation mail of any kind :)

Yes, I know, but there was some discussion about this some time back. There have been several set-based contests so people have build up a few sets from participating and maybe it is time to have a contest that lets people use pieces from those various sets (or any set, really), and see how that goes?

And you are right nothing is decided it's all still just in the brainstorming stage.

You can still buy this for around $20... I do want that spaceman but that price is a bit much.

In this video Jang does a blue spaceman comparison

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QO4NcEihDCo

As you can tell the helmet differences are quite obvious, I really wish LEGO would do a spaceman helmet that more closely resembled the REAL classic figures
Can anybody give me the Lego product number of this one?
I totally missed it on s@h...

Sorry :(

Still crossing my fingers that mine will go from 'processing' to 'shipping' sometime today.

I could have had my order completed in 20 seconds if not for the credit card sanfu i encountered at checkout :(

By the time I was going to check out, the site wouldn't load for me so I had to come back later. :/

I am tempted to stop by a store this weekend and pick one up and see if I can edit my order? probably not.

I remember when that set was on clearance for $5. Those were not selling very well. I should have backed up the truck back then. I only grabbed several back then for the minifig, but those parts are also very nice to have for buildings. Who knew there would be a LEGO movie to drive interest to all time highs for that minifig.

Exo-suit secured.

My LEGO store had a 2 per household limit. I was told they got about 100. They were busy so I didn't ask how many they had in the backroom. The brick specialist I was talking to did say a lot of people that bought the Exo-suit bought 2 with 1 or 2 Research sets.

Sales again this week were scattered across most themes. Some of the Star Wars $10 micro builds with minifig were on sale (Star Destroyer and the drone one).

That's what I did!

The guy at the counter said that the Mini Mini Coopers were only to sell with the big Mini Coopers, which bummed me out and even if he was wrong, both of them were gone.

I DID get a LEGO TMNT poster of the 4 bros posing like the classic comic book cover, so I left super happy anyways. :D

Maturity, bitches.
While classic space was technically before my time I do have classic space helmets. Always thought it was weird you could put visors on them (they have the notches) even though I've never seen a visor that fits the elongated shape.

They are also fragile so a few are rather like Benny's from the Movie (I did like that touch).

Had to stop by Walmart this morning to pick up some things for the cat, and buy a birthday present for my youngest nephew.
The gift and Dragon Mountain were both on sale... I couldn't resist!
Pretending I didn't place that $100+ order on S@H last night.

Just email LEGO customer support and reference your receipt number and they will most likely send you out the free set.

I made an extra pickup at the LEGO Store in case something happens to my online order.

My mom wanted to know what to get my kids and the wife and i for Christmas because she wanted to start shopping early, so naturally I suggested a couple Lego things for myself.

The exo suit is backordered and was only able to get one. That's OK, I suppose I only need one, its going to for display only....well mostly display...in my nerd cave.

I looked at tru online and they had it for only $25! But was unavailable at the time?!

The notches were used for super-early Castle knights, who had visors going into them. Even those visors didn't really sit flush on the mold.

Yup, these: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x105

Shot 2 more reviews last night, Benny's Spaceship and VW Camper Van, I think once I've edited they should be a lot better than the review for the Classic White spaceman minifigure review, I improved the sound quality during filming and changed up how we shot it a bit that should make the next reviews a bit snappier.

Our intent is to have a more mature look at lego sets, an alternative to the Brickshow but with 2 people review we hope we can get it a bit more natural in the conversation and less just pointing out features.

Just curious, how long has it been taking from shooting the review set, to editting and posting?

Looking forward to watching this tonight. Went looking for the Camper today and ended up with the new ATAT instead.

I don't know if this has been rumoured or not but I've just listened to the empire (the film magazine) podcast and Chris Pratt was on there promoting Guardians. He mentioned how he has more Lego figures then any other person and also he mentioned that he has just seen and approved his figure for the Jurassic World set!!!

Ironically I have just finished building the Research set haha

well we shot 3 last friday, minifig spaceman, mars rover and BTTF, then I got sick til about wednesday which is when I edited the spaceman one. Took a couple of hours to edit.

The mars rover one needs to be reshot as it's really dull so you won't see that for a while. The changes we made when shooting the camper and benny's spaceship should make the editing process faster and make a more interesting video too so I'll probably edit the camper and spaceship next.

Oh my! Could LEGO reuse the recent dinosaur moulds with prints to match the movie or could they make new moulds?

I could use a lot more dinosaurs.

He's probably referring to the Jurassic World Kreon figure. Hasbro has the license for that film.

My gf and I are going to BrickFair in Chantilly, VA this weekend. Anyone ever been before?

I'm going with my daughter and nephew tomorrow, but not til after lunch. I haven't been before, but I'm going to guess it's just like a video game convention. But with more Legos.

I go from "I don't really care much about LEGO anymore" to buying Technical crane MkII and the 4x4 Crawler. I did use my $50 VIP on the crane, and TRU had the crawler for $160. But still... That money went quick...
