Hey Lego GAF, I've recently come into possession of a Macro lens, and I'm wanting to do some like weird psuedo street photography with Legos now. I've got one modular, the Detective's office, and am considering getting a second to go with it, but I've got one problem: Streets! What's the best street piece that won't look ridiculous with the modulars? They already have a sidewalk so I'm afraid that the standard street piece might look a little weird, and since the modulars use the full on base it's not like I can just attach it straight on the top either. Any ideas?

Waiting for the Ferrari to go live on LEGO s@h, but it still lists as $99.99 and not the original announced price of $89.99. I think I will wait until this gets sorted out.

There are a few options:

a) Rebuild the modular across two plates, up to the edge of the street.
b) Build a street section with tiles on a regular baseplate and just put it along the modular baseplate (I'm doing this, although the downside is that you don't get a difference in levels between the road and the sidewalk).
c) Build the street section using SNOT so that the top of it is entirely flat, and simply place the modular on top of it.

I used road plates which are the same size as the large square modular plates. built out the pavement a little way to overlap - worked pretty well.

Can't find pics now but I'll see if I can find any. Pretty sure I posted some in a previous Lego thread here ages ago.

Oh they totally are. There's a Star Wars movie coming out next year that's about a mission to steal the Death Star's schematics. There's no way they'll pass on the opportunity to cash in on a new Death Star. This isn't any insider info, to me it's just logical business sense.

That's not the plot of The Force Awakens, it's the plot of the first Star Wars Anthology film, Rebel One. It's been widely reported alongside the reveal of that film so it's not really a spoiler (unless you didn't want to know anything at all about the film). It's not the same as revealing the ep VII plot (which so far I don't think they've done), anyway.

Also found the Ninjago temple. I could not find it earlier. It's not in stock till Sept 1st though. I really want this but not sure I have the budget for it this year because of Star Wars

amazon.com is now sold out of the death star. maybe there's more in the supply chain making it their way but probably not a lot.

target.com still has it for MSRP.

I didn't know about it either. No doubt the trailer would have revealed it, but I'm trying to stay as dark as possible outside of the trailers. Not upset at reading it....figured there must be a new DS coming given the set's retirement.

I just got Minecraft 21118 The Mine (922 pieces) for $70 shipped thanks to the 15% off deal! Liking this. I picked up the Tydirium at Target for a little under $80. Still a fine deal.

Both sets seem to be rather similar to the originals, but nice figures. Does Finn have a new hairpiece?

I hope so... it looks similar to the older hair piece used by, for example, Lando... only it has a slight texture to it to better resemble afro-textured hair I think?

Well seeing as shipping varies greatly depending on where they are going. It does not include it per se. The prices are oriented along the lower end of the Bricklink price spectrum for the sets in Europe.

Meh, Halloween X-Wing is only about 150 more pieces than the excellent 9493 and that Falcon is around the same piece count as 7965. I've got both so these are easy passes for me.

The TFA sets are looking great so far, though I am a little bummed that they couldn't do a rolling BB-8.
