I was definitely shown some clickbait yesterday about how some Lego brick that was in the film didn't exist in the year of the story.

I know people were talking about too much spare Lego a couple days ago, Jang pit up a great video detailing several charities that are good places to donate. They really go the extra mile. Its a good watch!

I'm happy, I remember having at least green plates (read: not baseplates) in the mid 80s (and trees/bushes
) besides base plates, and I got it right on my first try (6392 airport)It was that uncommon that I remember it well.
I'd say there were two shades of green, too, at the time, a bright and a dark one (think trees).
But definitively not green bricks and not in two different greens (I'd say the closest I had was 1x1 round in trans green at the time)
Though I wonder, I believe you could buy bricks in unusual colors in parks (because they needed to produce them for their own builds), I'd like to know if you could have found those there in 1989. I wouldn't rule it out?

That Death Star is a piece of shit. Where's the spherical paneling? I imagine they could update it into a super deluxe version with more spacing and better detail like the upcoming Millenium Falcon in a few years.
Having built it this year for the first time, it does leave a lot to be desired in terms of building techniques. There's a lot of stacking going on. I expect the designers could do some nice things with a complete redesign.

Appeal of the Best Star to me is the nostalgia trip. Building all these small vignettes and seeing little touches from the films. It is also a great way to display a ton of minifigs.
Got my OFS box today. It also had the new halloween set and 4 Ninjago CMF packs. I got 4 new figs and no doubles so far. Been lucking out with these.
I wasn't against getting any of these figs but I still haven't got selfie stick Jay which is the only one I really needed. I think i'm going to stop getting these from S@H while i'm ahead and just bricklink selfie stick Jay.

I need several of the "fish" heads. Well, just the angler and octopus ones. Maybe if the shark has lasers on it. I prefer the Left Shark costume CMF or the Atlantis shark head.

They keep their value very well. You can build and sell later. You could get all your money back and maybe even make some.
Already done £700 on force Friday and will be another £500 for the Falcon.
And I really don't feel the urge with them like I do with the ucs stuff.
Hi guys, haven't posted here in a while, been out of the Lego loop. Started looking up what new sets have come out in the past year or so and there's so much cool stuff, especially the larger sets. However, it gives me the same feeling I get whenever I look at my Steam backlog - there's just so much choice that I don't feel like committing to anything and end up browsing the web or going onto Gaf instead. Anyone else feel that way?

If it's retiring soon then it's already out of production, once they sell through their stock, it's done.
You'll be lucky if it's around in November I'd have thought, but at the same time by then you wouldn't have to pay much over RRP on eBay or somewhere for a set, if you can't find one anywhere else. These modulars aren't LEGO-exclusive so there's a decent chance you can find one in some other toy store.

I'm going to hold off on Palace Cinema until Black Friday and hope it goes on clearance then like Pet Shop did last year.
That's because you haven't tried one yet...
Ehhh, it's the look of them that doesn't grab me like the UCS ones do. I'll probably end up getting cinema with my falcon points just because it's going, even though I'd rather the mini or camper or something.
A lot is spent on the interiors which do nothing for me. Part of why I'm glad the mf wasn't a full interior.
mini modulars got me in to the modulars. Then I missed a couple due to limited space/money. And found I wasn't overly bothered so I sold everything

Heads up, some Lego Dimensions sets are 50% at S@H. Lego Batman Movie and Ghostbusters story packs at $22.49 each, Excalibur Batman, Knight Rider, Goonies level pack, Mission Impossible level pack, Hermione, Lego City, and a bunch of older sets.
Those sets were already at that prices in other stores on the past, but if you still do not have them and want some points...

I'm honestly waiting for $5 max for story packs and $1-3 for the smaller sets
I'm still jelly the west coast got those $1 story sets/ packs
It was a wedding gift I got from my sister (I'm a huge cinema fan and work as a screenwriter, so it was the best of both worlds). So it holds a special place in my heart too, even though I admit it being the weakest of the bunch I own
It was my second modular though, as just weeks before my then wife-to-be and I bought Parisian restaurant.
It was the start of my return from the dark ages
This is kind of my thinking. Like, I'm actually annoyed I wasn't back in to Lego to get the b wing or the y wing or the isd. I don't care at all that I've missed modulars. I think I'd be more bothered if I didn't get tower bridge or Big Ben.
But then I bought the new death star lol.
