Apparently TrU might be going out of business?
Yeah-wondering if this is just TRU US or if the Canadian arm will be affected as well.

That's not worldwide, if I understood corredctly, and that's not sure either...Yeah-wondering if this is just TRU US or if the Canadian arm will be affected as well.
I just built the Sonic Dimensions kit, and man, I wish they'd make an entire theme out of Sonic.
There's tons of robots they could make buildable, along with a large amount of characters to make minifigs for.
Eggman Hammer: Comes with a buildable Eggman Hammer from Aquatic Ruin, a buildable totem, a buildable Grounder, Tails and Eggman minifigs
Master Emerald Shrine: Comes with a buildable Master Emerald shrine, a buildable Eggrobo, and a Knuckles minifig
Tornado: Minifig scale Tornado with Tails and Sonic minifigs. And buildable flying turtle badnik
Stardust Speedway: A small section of Star Dust Speedway, Metal Sonic and Amy minifigs, buildable Flickies and a buildable animal button holder thing with button push explosion action feature
UCS Green Hill Zone: A buildable version of the Smash Brawl GHZ, with a large loop, a buildable powerup TV, checkpoint, Motobug, Buzz Bomber, and Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Eggman minifigs.
Hard Boiled Heavy King Polybag
Sonic 3 Mecha Sonic Polybag
It's such a waste they have the rights to Sonic Lego and do nothing...
So odds on BB-8 and Old Fishing Store being on sale in January? My Lego budget is likely going to be real low (having to buy a new computer/laptop) until then yet I really want to own both sets.
No doubt BB-8 will be on sale somewhere for
at least 20% off by then.
Not so sure on OFS.
See the edit. Sorry for the confusion My only income being student loans means I've got very set dates for when money comes in. I could probably buy the MF in January if I wanted!
In that case you ought to be safe for both. I can't see OFS going out of stock that fast. BB-8 will be around at least a year. Probably longer.

Yep, agreed. BB-8 will be around through next summer for sure and I suspect that the fishing store will get heavily discounted...Outside of the Apollo, it really feels like Ideas sets don't have productive shelf lives for very long.
So I made an "infinity cube" tonight based on the instructions in the video below. I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the simple complexity of it. My girls will love it.

Mattel is lot worse off than LEGO, if you add up their Q1 and Q2 reports they ended up in similar sales loss as LEGO (citing the same markets ). And totally they did not even turned profit but went ~150m USD in loss, while LEGO still keeps their ~30% operating profit.
MEGA is also mentioned there as part of construction toys division which went down about 30% in the 1H and the total numbers are nowhere the total sales or LEGO sales. I'd say how corporate works, with loss on total, they would hardly invest in MEGA with the purpose to fight LEGO.
And just to have the whole info, Hasbro was up, but their operating profit is nowhere near LEGO. Plus it seems the biggest gain was done on 'gaming' division and even 3rd party licenses (franchise) went down.

I'm hoping for an improved UCS ISD, but would also like a tantive (which I'm surprised hasn't even come out at any scale, after featuring in Rebels so much).
Looks like my BB8 should get delivered today, just have to see where Yodel will leave it as that can be a lottery!
Nice breakdown. Do you do a investing? I only go to that level when it's a company I'm looking to trade stock.
I'm a bit shocked at the 30% for their construction division. I know MEGA doesn't sell like LEGO as I see MEGA has stuff on clearance all the time, but I do see some sets get cleared out. Perhaps lower interest in Halo? Companies that are negative still will invest in areas if they see potential growth down the road. Unless they are grooming for a sale and don't care about long term or something like that.
What famous Star Wars landmarks have a shot of becoming UCS playsets in the near or far future? Could the Death Star playset get an overhaul? And seeing as how these Star Wars UCS sets are relatively young in concept, what is the long term business model? Star Wars iconography is popular, but not as ubiquitous as city building sets? You can shuffle the starship roster, but eventually the ideas will fall back into rotation.

My son keeps asking me for the Sonic Dimensions kit but I'm not paying £25 for what is effectively 1 minifig and a couple of little vehicles - you can get a decent proper LEGO set for that money. We haven't got the game and I'm adamant we're not going down the toys-to-life rabbit hole.
So, yeah, proper Sonic LEGO please.
Speaking of Mega Construx Pokemon, how's the Gyarados?
That one's been tempting me for awhile, at 20 dollars it's not really expensive at all, but the reviews are mixed on if it's fiddly and fragile, or actually a nice thing.
at one point Dimensions booster packs were showing up in poundland and B&M bargains, maybe they were smart enough to buy up a few pallets of Hedgehogs
I can't say how it is, but I discovered these the other day and I would love to get a Gyarados - I think it would look great vs the Ninjago Green Dragon Mech - but they're super expensive here in Australia, like $60, $70. I'd bite at that $30 mark for sure.
I got the Portal Pack from Walmart for 5 dollars a year or two ago
You'd think what basically amounts to pop culture Smash Bros, that the game would have done better.
I ended up buying it from Amazon for 21. Comes on Friday, but I don't know when I'll get around to putting it together, since my Star Wars stuff (at least the stuff that wasn't backordered) is coming on Saturday.
Also I'm getting a Cockatiel tomorrow, so I'll be busy.
If you do end up building it, let me know if it is worthwhile, I do like the look of it.
Okay, although it could be awhile. There were sets sitting on my desk to build from June that I just did last week.
One of the weirdest and funniest things I've noticed about Bricklink is that every store has Droid parts. It doesn't matter if they sell Star Wars stuff, or just random bricks, or whatever. They will have Droid parts. Always arms, sometimes torsos. Never heads, never legs.
I used Bricklink for the first time on Monday. Placed five orders and all should be here by Saturday. I probably spent too much to get the random pieces I wanted... a couple orders were below minimum so I ended up adding some minifigs (finally, an Admiral Ackbar).
I can see myself getting in trouble with random shopping on this thing...
How much are fees on bricklink? I've got lots of base plates I want to sell and that seems like the best go to spot

That Dino Creator set is amazing. I definitly need a second one for a Triceratops
Did you know about the fourth model?
Welp. Two additional models it is. How do I get the manuel for that one?
BTW, I used a custom fix the the tail of the Rex. Didnt liked how I couldnt moved it around, so I exchanged the rounded 2x2.
