Let's Talk About PlayStation VR: List of Upcoming Titles

I expect the "New on PlayStation store this week" for the 11th of October to be quite extensive. But don't expect many more preorders. They basically don't make any sense at all for smaller download titles anyway.

Sportsbar looks cool!

But what I really want to see is Ping Pong!

When I pre ordered I was really excited for the tech but as release gets closer I'm just not that excited by any of the launch games

RIGS looks like one of the only game that's fully fleshed out (which is probably reflected in its price) and I'm interested in seeing how well the tech has been implemented.

Other than RIGS the only games I'm really interested in so far are Driveclub (which I own already on PS4 and wasn't a huge fan of) and REZ (which I've played many times before).

If you get a chance if that didn't already happen.. try and find a best buy or ebgames that demos it and try a game that supports Move. It might change your mind.

I think they don't want people stuck with pre-orders for games they can't play at release because of low stocks of headsets.

Well, I've finally given up hope of finding a cheap second move motion controller, and ordered a new one from Amazon. I should have bought second-hand back in the spring.

Also ordered some cheapish headphones, as I don't think I'll want to use the earbuds bundled with the headset for long.

Are headphones required? Also are the golds ok

Yes, stereo headphones are required since this will give you 3D audio. And no it's not some kind of 5.1/7.1 sound, it's achieved with regular stereo headphones emulating binaural audio. That's why you will have to plug in your headphones into the headset since you will not get that sound signal through wireless as the breakout box processes the audio.

Pretty much required. I think you'd be able to use the sound from your TV/amp for games that have a mirrored social screen, but you wouldn't get the benefit of 3d (binaural) sound: it's the separate processing unit which takes the individual sounds from each in-game object and creates positional audio from them, this is then fed to the headset and output from a standard 3.5mm jack on the inline volume/power control box.

You could use any set of headphones that have a 3.5mm connector; you wouldn't be using a USB dongle or Bluetooth.

Cross posting from the DC OT... Not direct feed vid tho

hmmm, Ive gotten a bit sick from some Gear VR games(using a controller to turn in DeadHalls, Omegas Agent). But I have yet to get any nausea from any PSVR game, including DriveClub VR. Not to say it cant happen. But DriveClub seemed perfectly pleasant. Though I never had any big crashes, but some spin outs.

I have those too

But I can use the Gold headset with 3.5mm connecter too

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
All this talk about headphones--doesn't the helmet automatically include standard ones inside the helmet? I thought I read that from a Sony employee.

Just cancelled my pre-order from Amazon, so will free one up for someone. My reasoning is not having the chance to try it and none of the games are screaming at me as must have titles. My fear is a some of these games are little more than tech demos, and they are charging bloated prices since they are in the launch window. I’m still hearing mixed reactions as well and while mostly good they are along the lines of not worth $400 ‘yet’. I’ll go in wait and see mode, and if it appears to take off and we get some good titles will take the plunge then.

I wish there were a way to transfer preorders. I missed the time when it started because I was switching jobs and didon't have the cash. I am worried that it will be a long time before I can find one.

Edit: Holy shit. Samsung's auto correct is fucking horrid. My original post was awful.

I was at my local EB and the Sony rep apparently mentioned they would have enough for walk-ins beyond their preorder limit.

Makes me feel alil mad in a way pretty sure so many people wanted one buy couldn't because people were holding on to something they didn't want. Hopefully whoever couldn't get one gets lucky at retail

I'm starting to wonder if there is anybody with a pre-order left.

If someone who couldn't preorder it can buy a PSVR on day one 'cause someone decided to cancel their preorder I'm ok with it.

The first adopters are the ones who are gonna sell it giving the chance to all close to us to try a VR experience fisrt hand.

I might keep my preorder and pass it on to a gaffer rather than cancel

This may have been covered before, but in the OP Eve:Valkyrie is listed as an experience priced, but it's $60 on amazon.. Is amazon just putting that there as a placeholder? Is it cheaper digitally? I don't see a digital preorder price on psn yet.

Preorders can be transferred with some gaf-trust.

Well I'm in day one ready with about 200 for games. Can't wait. So excited and my pre order is staying :)

Looking forward to getting

Rigs
Battlezone
Trackmania Turbo
Until Dawn
Eve Valkyrie
Vr Worlds

On the fence for
Driveclub
Harmonix

Reviews/impressions of the games are going to be so important at launch. It doesn't seem like there's any sure bets at this point. I hope there's in-depth coverage all the games from the media, because I'm going in blind and don't even know what I'm going to play when I get the thing.

The good news is all PSVRs come with a demo disc so you can try a lot of the games before you buy. On the disc there will also be direct links to the Playstation store for convenience.

Yeah, I'm gonna cancel my PSVR pre order as well. I'm not that excited about any of the launch titles, and with Battlefield 1, Infinite Warfare, FF15, Mafia 3, and Watch Dogs 2 this holiday season I'd rather play those games than any of the VR games.

I have a Rift and it sits completely unused, I think I last put it on 2 weeks ago for 15 minutes. I've demo'd the PSVR for hours at PSX, CES, and in stores and its a bit more comfortable but same problem of your head getting hot as hell within an hour. Visually its a complete step down from Rift but after a few minutes I really didn't notice/care, might be different at home I dunno.

The two games I enjoyed the most were surprisingly (i'm a violent shooter kinda guy) Eagle Flight and Star Trek VR. Eagle Flight was AWESOME in all the times I played it, just flying around as an eagle and sniping enemies or carrying deer from A to B. Star Trek was just immersive as all hell. The rest of the games were all meh to me. I know Eagle Flight is being ported to pretty much all VR headsets, not sure about Trek.

edit: just cancelled mine on best buy

Man, what a journey it's been guys. I still remember when Sony announced Project Morpheus back in 2014. I didn't give a shit about VR then!

But that all changed in January of 2015 when I first tried Google Cardboard. Once I tried it, I thought "damn if this is what a piece of cardboard can do, imagine what real VR can do?". And ever since, I've been frothing at the mouth for this piece of tech.

Lol you guys remember when they had us going by saying it was gonna come out in "the first half of 2016"? That GDC March delay was so disappointing :(. But in all honesty, I think it was for the best. Look at all the content that's coming to the platform on day 1 alone!

Now here we are! I've tried PSVR 3 times and my hype cannot get any higher. It's two weeks out from the launch of the first mainstream (high quality) VR HMD. This is monumental and I can't wait to see the reactions of friends and family members as they try (good) VR for the first time.

Is it October 13th yet?

Yeah, it's certainly appreciated, but I wonder how much you can glean from a demo. For example, if EVE Valkyrie demos well, but has no modes, a forsaken multiplayer landscape, and is clearly not worth $60, you're not going to be able to figure that out from that demo disc. I'll need GAF impressions or media reviews to determine that.

Not having a chance to try it is reason enough to return it to amazon if you don't like it though, that's a consumers right. It's certainly what I'm going to do if I'm not impressed, the UK tour isn't even coming within 100 miles of where I live.

Any boxing games coming to PSVR? That sounds like it could be fun

I have a source deep within Sony who I'm not at liberty to name, that has told me in confidence there are actually negative preorders for PSVR now.
What does that mean exactly? That they don't have enough supply to meet all preorders?

So many people interested of coming over to try PS VR at my place on the release's week-end.

I had to split everyone up into two groups. And I still fear it'll be a bit crowded on both nights.

I'm gonna need something good to wipe the lenses between everyone. I guess any microfiber fabric should do, right? Anything else I should have on hand?

I thought it came with a wiper.

This is the main reason I would buy PSVR, I never had friends ever come over to my house to play video games!

I've never worn a VR headset - why would you need to wipe the lenses?

I tried the Vive at a theme park so those headsets have probably been worn by 1000's of people, I don't think the lenses will be a problem but I would keep a cloth to wipe sweat from where it makes contact with the face.
