Heh. Thankfully I wasn't interested in porn until like ten years ago. Lots of stuff then, but I was so afraid of shady sites.
I mostly looked for porn on "Qruiser - The Nordic Gay Lesbian & Queer Online Community". They had a video category where people posted clips of themselves or stuff they liked. Felt pretty safe.
Outside the video category, the LGBQ-part of that site was... bad. I did find a couple of nice friends during my 2 years on there (and at least one of those gay friends found a bf there eventually) but I also got at least two dick pics per day from straight guys. Ugh. No way to get them kicked out from the community which is terrible! I hope it's better nowadays.

They made it annoying to watch their stuff online if you're Belgian too for some reason.

I remember that being a big reason why someone didn't want paid channels

I found it very annoying browsing the channels at night and coming across porn knowing it would possibly be heard by my parents and I've never felt the desire to watch straight porn.

We got away from phone line internet quite late and I remember thinking how amazing it would be to browse the web with no limits and not waiting a couple of minutes (can't remember quite how long it took, it being slow was just the norm) web pages to load.

I had a Sony Ericsson and because they were weird they refused to use EDGE for 2G (It's the fastest 2G standard which Nokia had a patent for) so they had to use the much older standard which was far slower. 3G back then was also 5 times slower than current 3G (HSDPA)
