I'm playing The Division open beta and I'm sad I couldn't get my character to look the same as I had in the closed beta. That guy was straight fire. Totally making my character look like him in the full game.

I can't believe Lightning is a model for Louis Vuitton. Like, it's not just some online photoshoot thing - it's something that actually exists in the real world.

but also kind of cool because virtual models are a neat concept and could even help to alleviate some of the damage that photoshopped and airbrushed models deal to people's self esteem.
) and it doesn't help that the actual shots of her look awkward and plastic-y.

JD Williams is one of the only celebrities I like. I've liked him since Oz, through The Wire and when he appears on The Good Wife.

I SAW HER PLASTERED ALL OVER THE LOUIS STORE AT THE MALL TODAY AND SAID "WHAT?"

I first saw the pics on GAF and thought it was just going to be like a campaign only at like one Flagship store in Tokyo maximum for like two weeks. I can't believe it's legit the new global campaign in 2016.

Like why is this happening now, long after her games stopped coming out and her peak popularity is long gone? And who at Square Enix or Louis was weird enough to make this happen?

I don't get it either and who are they trying to market to?. I wouldn't be surprised if they will try to push her again for one more game/appearance.

Gucci had a whole line in 2013 advertised by Jolyne Kujo, a manga character from 2003. Lightning is just Louis Vuitton's Jolyne.

And back in 2009, Louis Vuitton partnered up with Mamoru Hosoda to create a music video ad, with the mascot designs of Murakami.

The concept is not unheard of this is true.

But coming from SE and it just happens to be Lightning makes you wonder why exactly are they doing it.

That video was really cool btw.

You're not wrong about the Kingdom Hearts comparison. Both stories are dumb fun that take themselves way too seriously. It kinda adds to their charm though.

I still can't explain the story.

It made me retroactively love 12. But 4, 6, and 9 are still the best in the series, IMO.

I didn't find it awful but it could have been better and some things should've been fleshed out. LR is the awful one out of the three games.

Square Enix, sure. Louis Vuitton though? Unless Square threw bucket loads of money at them (but then see the above sentence), I have no idea why they'd agree to it. Maybe because it's weird and novel and brings them attention that they'd otherwise not get had they gone with a regular model?

At the time I thought 13 was ok, but playing the sequels and getting older I realized the errors of my ways lol

Nothing too exciting. Well, come to think of it I read a book called What Belongs To You by Garth Greenwell that I really enjoyed, which is only the second in the "gay literary fiction" genre (after Call Me By Your Name which was well-written but has this May-December thing that vaguely creeps me out) that I've actually read. I thought it was great, and I happened to see that the author was doing a reading at the university I went to, which was fun. I got my copy signed.

Oh, and I was just reading the last few pages of this thread with a bit of nostalgia.

My character just turned out pretty generic, but I did appreciate how well-developed some of the leg presets were. Most character creation systems aren't quite as accommodating when it comes to the thighs and general rear.
