Life Is Strange |OT| Rewinder Me

I comforted her without even trying the other thing and would like to make friends with her. But she is doing some despicable things to the point where it doesn't matter what freudian excuse she has. Cheating with another girls boyfriend, trying to put the blame on that girls best friends, bullying another girl, don't let Max in just because, talking bad about her pose - she isn't a good person as of now.

As I understood it
Victoria didn't cheat with Zach, she just told Julie that lie about Dana and the sexting

Game definitely ends on a cliff.

it took me a while to get this. good job

This may stem from different values in culture, but
isn't that already cheating. I mean, even if they didn't have physical sex, sexting isn't an everyday activity you do with random friends.

Just finished it. I really liked it. The setting, characters, and plot. The setting especially, it's gorgeous. I am going to play though it again because there were a lot of things I missed.

Also, during the final cutscene, I lost audio... Bug or intentional?

The longer I played, the less inclined I was to go through everyone's stuff, even though I know I can just rewind and they'd never know. Especially after Dana's room.

Even with a power to do as you please without consequences (as far as we know), I don't like playing Max as such a snoop.

Is "Bigfoots" even a correct plural? I love when people use something stupid for the school mascot, once again, like Juno's "Dancing Elk"

So I finally played through it. Really enjoyed the first episode. It got better as I went on.
I guess I wasn't the only one who missed out that one thing in Danas room.

Side point: I got DMCA'd on Twitch for the beginning part of the video? Fuck this shit, Twitch.

I may just be too fucking old
I feel texting in general is too impersonal to claim cheating, like looking at porn is also not cheating in my book.

Plus didn't Juliet said that it was Zach who sexted Victoria as a Joke or something, isn't that what she says when you talk to her in the parking lot?

Huh, really? Weird, I guess this games has more outcomes than I expected, that happened
as soon as I left the dormitories to meet up with Warren

That's interesting. I wonder if that's a bug or did you all do something differently.

I wouldn't compare watching porn and masturbation to discussing sexual acts with your SO's friend. But yeah, she said that he told her at it was a joke, but it was because he didn't want to own up.

I made a tweet earlier recommending this to all my followers. This game - and the devs in general - need more recognition. I propose everyone do the same, give this game its time in the spotlight.

You would have no problem if your SO would just write sloppy wet textes with another women, you both know personally? I may be not american enough, but it would a break of trust, especially since he is doing that behind her back. And it was also quite clear that he was just trying to get himself out of the shitty situation by saying it was a joke.

I haven't finished the first episode yet but i can safely say that from a presentation point of view, this is among my favourite games already. I adore the visual style, with it's soft paintery look, warm colors, great lighting and cool camera effects and angles. Also, the game has a lot of little details scattered around to make the world feel more alive. Some of the cutscenes look really neat too. It really is a beautiful game, and considering that the setting isn't all that interesting to begin with (house, school,...), i think Dontnod did an amazing job to create a unique looking game. The soundtrack sits quitely in the background but comes to the front at the right moments and it fits the theme and setting perfectly. It's a very nice soundtrack indeed.

It is obvious that a lot of care, thought and hard work went into making this game. And it is comfirmation that Dontnod know their stuff when it comes to presentation, which was also apparent in Remember me.

Now that I think of it...
When she was smoking in her room... HOW DOES DAVID NOT KNOW THIS WHEN HE ENTERS THE HOUSE?! That crap smells horrible and is usually quite strong enough to smell from a good distance, yet he only realizes she probably was after seeing it on the desk.....

I won't think about it too much

Well,I guess he was too busy to notice it immediately or process it.
Besides the game tells you that there is no point in hiding it,because you can't ride of the smell.

Got a bit farther in. So far everything has just been kind of laid back, explore the school.
Not a bad deal at all (does evey videogame character know how to play the guitar).

Max is turning out to be a fun character and I can't wait until that blue haired girl gets involved more. Have a bad feeling that Kate is gonna be taking two exits up if I don't do something soon though.

The Giant Bomb Quick Look convinced me to give this game a look. I played through it last night/this morning and I really liked it. Question though,
after looking through my choices after finishing the game, I noticed a missed a bunch of good deed things (saving a bird, letting someone draw me, etc.). Should I go back and redo the game to do these or should I let it be?

Also, have they mentioned when they're planning to release the rest of the episodes?

I believe the next episode is set for March.

And while those choices you mentioned likely won't have a big impact on future events, they're fun to watch play out and participate in, I think the game is definitely worth a second playthrough to see the things you missed. Just use a second save slot and then decide which playthrough you liked more and use that for Episode 2

I plan on playing Max as conservatively as possible. In this first episode I tried my best to only use my powers for important events, not just because someone didn't like my answer.

For instance, I stayed in the closet til' Chloe's stepfather struck her. Then
I went back to try and prevent that. It clearly had a very negative effect on her.
However, I did break her snowglobe and didn't fix it.

Unfortunately I felt this episode was kind of bad at that, it really pushed you to use your powers for pretty much every conversation. I hope and expect though that this was an Episode 1 thing, just to make sure you feel more comfortable with your abilities for future episodes.

edit:
Good to see word getting out about the game. Hopefully the following grows and it becomes a GOTY contender.

Don't hop on the hype train just yet. The first episodes of episodic games are usually the easiest to get right. We all remember Wolf Among Us.

No.

you can replay the episodes in collection mode to explore every choice path without rewriting your save, that you could do but NO redoing your save, NO

Just finished the first episode after putting in about 3 hours.

Lots of thoughts swirling around in my head but:

I got a good laugh at the Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within reference.

God, I had such high hopes for The Wolf Among Us after episode 1. It was incredible.

The rest of the season couldn't live up to it, although episode 3 was pretty good.

Agreed. What's great about this game is that it gives you a window to fix your mistakes within the game itself. No need for save scumming or perfect playthroughs. Stick to the playthrough you're creating as you go.

Is there a walkthrough for episode 1 yet? Looking at the stats page you get at the end it seems like I missed a whole bunch of stuff on my playthrough.

But anyway yeah I enjoyed the hell out of episode 1, can't wait for the next one.

What time is it?
Just finished. I enjoyed it for the most part but there is something off-putting about most of the characters dialog. It's almost like what older people think younger people sound like when they talk. Max's inner monologue after every decision with consequence also feels unnecessary. Those niggles aside, I'm really curious to see where the story goes.

What did you miss?

Looks like some game files show a bunch of variables and choices from upcoming episodes...avoid visiting the Steam community page for now. :( Wish developers with episodic games would be more careful with this stuff.

What a strange (welp) game.

Elements of Twin Peaks, Alan Wake, Indigo Prophesy and.. Veronica Mars?

I enjoyed the first episode, I love something different.

What's 'collection mode'?

When you choose to replay the episode, you will have the option of replaying it for each save slot, or to play it in collection mode. It's basically a mode in which you can play through each section of the episode without actually rewriting your choices. To play around and to collect the optional photos you missed.

Awesome. I'm gonna try that.

I guess I'm in the minority here but I found the writing to be pretty bad. I like the game's concept, I like that's it more or less Telltale meets Gone Home with the time manipulation thrown in for good measure, but the writing is so incredibly on the nose, everything is being spelt out, and the dialogue (and the inner monologue) never sounds real to me. It just feels leagues apart from some of the fascinating drama that Telltale has written on the one hand, and the subtility of Gone Home on the other.

That being said, I was surprised by how great the game looks. They've put way more effort into this than I had realized. I was expecting it to be pretty much on par with Telltale's stuff but this is miles ahead, and they actually managed to make the time manipulation feel more than a gimmick.

I doubt I'll play the remaining episodes but I hope it's successful enough to make Telltale consider putting a bit more detail and gameplay into their games...

Boy, I've already bought a round trip ticket. Also, I loved all of TWAU by the way, I think this game is heading good places too, but it's still too early to make any big claims about the game, you're right.

Too late for that man.

Although I'm a little worried that it could (as almost all pieces of fiction involving time travel) eventually get wrapped up in its own time travel conundrum. Even the first episode had moments, when I was thinking: "Well, Max, maybe you could have tried that again, but nah... scripted."

The whole parking lot sequence especially.

At moments like these, you just kinda have to go with it, I guess.

Wolf Among Us turned out to be a very solid overall experience. The problem with that game was performance and scheduling.

Unfortunately, what you've described as "niggles" (is that British? :), were big enough to get me to stop playing. I was constantly cringing at the dialogue. Will give the game another chance at some point since I only played a couple scenes of the demo. I definitely WANT to like the game. Big fan of Telltale's Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us.

Something I keep forgetting to mention: Max does not look 18.

I'm not saying it's impossible for an 18 year old to look like that, before someone jumps in and says "I know 18 year olds who look just like that!", and I would also agree that games largely portray 18 year olds to look older than they actually should, but Max looks about 14.

EDIT: Wait, is she 18 or 19? I forget. Point stands either way.
