Agreed. Short enough to finish in one sitting, which is what I prefer with these types of games. Otherwise I'll forget stuff.

Loved the shit out of episode 1. Very Telltaley, but with its own vibe. Soundtrack is god tier. Really hoping for an OST.

Anyone else get a slight sense of satisfaction when you found an item or something, leading to a new conversation option? Loved that little click of everything coming together.

Where can you hide in Chloe's bedroom? I could have rewound, but ended up liking the plot thread I went down. Stepdad is a total tool.

I want more of these types of games, each covering a different genre. We've got the coming of age/indie movie, the zombie show, and the fantasy show. Does Tales of the Borderlands hit the comedy genre? A Miami Vice type game could fit the cop/mystery procedural.

Best part about these sorts of games is that they're so accessible because of the simple controls/somewhat minimal gameplay interaction. Makes it easier to recommend to friends. I know a bunch of people who don't normally game that would probably enjoy LiS. Got a similar subset hooked on Game of Thrones.

This game is a great example of the world going on its own while not being a simulator. It's only indifferent when you use the power. The power is a conduit for Max to be less of a "shy cliche geek" and have more of a presence. I like that she doesn't use it like a superhero for the greater good of humankind but just wants to fix mundane mistakes for others.

Hence, "everyday hero".

Just finished the episode and absolutely fucking loved it. Here are the decisions I made:

Reported Nathan.
Comforted Victoria (kind of regret this one since she's such a horrible asshole).
Intervened to help out Kate.
Took the blame for Chloe (didn't hide).
Let David draw my portrait.
Signed the petition.
Helped Alyssa.
Erased the insults on Kate's slate.
Watered the plant.
Didn't touch Dana's pregnancy test (only because I didn't see it).
Didn't touch Victoria's photos.
Wrote on the dirty R.V.
Saved the bird.
Didn't break Chloe's snow globe.
Didn't leave any evidence while looking at David's stuff.
Read David's files.

Is anyone having issues with k/m controls on Steam?

I think I'm missing something.

The very first prompt says to focus on the girl's picture in the classroom setting, but my mouse cursor won't hover over to it.

What am I missing?

Never had any issues with regular settings but if I used GeDoSaTo there were some things affecting the prompts.

Click LMB, move mouse cursor over prompt (ex. LOOK) and then release LMB.

Reposting the main theme. This is the kind of song that makes me want to sit alone in a room, close my eyes, and recount years of my teenaged life. What a trip.

Put about 3 hours into episode 1, love exploring and checking the little things. I liked this a lot! Games like this always make me uneasy though (making choices) even with the rewind bit, I feel so unsure about my choices.

The wait for the next episode blows, can't wait to play it.

I need to play Remember Me. It's been sitting on my hard drive forever.

I also regret waiting for a PS4 port of Beyond. Might just pick it up for the PS3.

Can't wait for the next episode.

Thanks for your help. Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but the controls seem unintuitive.

The in-game mouse cursor wont hover over to the highlighted picture in game for some strange reason.

I get what I have to do, but I can't get the cursor over to the prompt to forward the sequence.

Well, I got past the first big choice.

Dialog is hella interesting. I'm intrigued though, and I;d probably have a bigger grin on my face if I was a photo nut. Be getting back to this tomorrow.

Try looking at the direction of the photo. (First time felt weird) Left Click and move to pick your choice.

Ya I put about 3 hours in and didn't even explore everything. Really loved it. Can't wait for next episode.

Sorry, click and hold LMB, move to prompt, release.

I think someone on my friends list last night had the issue as well.

If you finished this game quickly and didn't take the time to look around and talk to people you are really doing yourself a disservice. You learn so much about the world and people from talking to everyone and looking at most of the stuff and you get some amazing references as well.

Kinda bought this on an impulse just because I love these types of games. I'm like an hour and a half in and I really like how you can rewind for different choices. The problem I have with other games like this is (like TWD for example) is when I make a choice, I always feel a small sense of regret wishing I could see what would happen if I picked the other options instead since I never have the time to replay games, so I would have to look them up on Youtube. This game gets rid of all of that and I love it.

And most choices so far seem 50/50 instead of completely good vs. completely evil like in other games. In one particular instance, I chose between two options and afterwards Max said something like, "that was bad, maybe I should rewind" or something, and I'm thinking that I chose the "wrong" choice. So I rewind and choose the other option, and she says something like "that was good but now that person hates me" and stuff, so I like how there's no "clear" right answer. I was impressed by that.

My only gripe so far is the lip-syncing and mouthing. It's FFXV trailer bad. Normally it doesn't really bother me much, but when pretty much everything else in the game is beautiful, it seems really off.

Yes, especially because it feels like this game is going to branch away from the dorm life and school stuff, I think that was a really fun part of the episode, so explore that while you still can.

So did anyone catch the rumor that Rachel was sleeping with the Professor? could be just a false rumor or a red hearing, but something tells me this guy has a darker side to him, maybe he killed her? for some reason?

Also Choe's step-dad does come off as an asshole and is way too paranoid, but I suspect we're also being played here, obviously we are supposed to hate him now, but he was right about choe stealing his gun and objectively speaking she does seems like a problem kid, I was wondering how would I act if I was in his position, and maybe it would be similar, I think he is trying to deliver some tough-love

Really sad it ended so soon. I mean it was good paced, but I wanted more.

Feel soo bad for Kate and whatever she is going through; found
the note in the classroom mentioning something about a porno.
Also it was mentioned somewhere about the school being built on an Indian Burial ground, or something like that; have a feeling things are going to go all stanlykubrik/davidlynch later on and its going to be like something out of the shineing.

Could have. He does seems like someone who teaches high school just to get closer to high school girls

beyond is a horrible game. there are some cool aspects here and there, but man some of the levels and the occult aspects just break the game for me.

the ending was really sad though

There's something I've been speculating too.

I'm thinking Chloe is fated to die. Max saved her from a gun shot but then we see in the Episode 2 preview she is about to be killed again. So maybe Max is just delaying the inevitable.

I think Max is more likely to die than Chloe. She's clearly in pain when you use the rewind too much, and there's no way a power like that doesn't come with some major drawbacks.

Or maybe like you said, she is fated to die; yet IDK maybe it is destiny that Max is her friend and is around so she can reverse time and save her and they can be buddies forever or what have you, they could both leave Arcadia and have their adventures.

If Max dies there is no chance for Season 2 and they have interest in continuing if the game sells well. Chloe seems like an option and maybe more development for Max character in the end of the game

Its part of the styling but the 2 strands of hair you can see through should be fixed as it can be distracting at times.

I think it's possible they both go, Chloe dying and serving as some sort of inspiration/motivation for Max, and Max sacrificing herself or maybe they'll pull some Beyond Two Souls and she'll go to some different plane in time or something.

I really hope the rewinding power doesn't lose Max's innocence and we don't go too far from her school life despite the bigger story arcs that are coming into play.

Still have to go back to get all the pictures and do one or two more things but I'm gonna stick with the main ones

it took me a few minutes to get used to the fact that your are playing as the hipster-est of hipster girls (hey, all the other characters in the game think so too) but the game gets seriously good once the Twin Peak-vibe kicks in. When the ending sequence started, I was like - I need more of this, now!

The first episode has a really good amount of content, took me 3-4 hours (without collecting everything). So far, I love this game

An ending where Max turns back time so much she just gets to give a warning of whats to come and turn to dust would be depressing as hell.

Max says something about climate change but I'm thinking that it might end up being anomalies resulting from Max's powers. Like messing with time around creates some paradoxes that starts causing the storms and weird weather

I played it on the Xbone. The visuals were freaking impressive. The wonderful artstyle really helps.

If it's anything like the paradox presented in All You Zombies, my theory is that her power lets her see "inevitablities", as well as reverse time, and she's doomed to repeat events for an eternity until they're fixed. The storm is likely the anomaly that ended up giving her that power, considering she had the first flashback before she performed the first rewind. That butterfly might be a big piece of the puzzle.

All that shall be perhaps explained in the future when Max perhaps learns more about her powers. Also it could be following one of the multiple theories about how the climate change will affect things
